Amyoplasia is the most common form of arthrogryposis (multiple congenital contracture). It has an
estimated incidence of one in 10,000 live births.
Lower limb-amyoplasia is a specii c subtype with an
estimated incidence of 1 in 75,000 - 100,000 live
births. There are only 85 cases of lower limb amyoplasia identii ed in literature, and there are no published cases from the Philippines. We discuss a rare
case of lower limb amyoplasia in an 11-year-old
Filipino female presenting with additional unique
features of severe scoliosis (managed with spine
correction surgery) and multiple skin dimples in the
gluteal area. The study was performed according to
the CARE guidelines for case reports.

A case of arthrogryposis multiplex congenita is an extremely rare and complex syndrome characterized by contractures of multiple joints in different parts of the body. Arthrogryposis multiplex congenita usually occurs alone but may be associated with other malformations. We experienced a case of arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, so report the case with relat ed literatures.

ARC (arthrogryposis multiplex congrnita, renal dysfunction and cholestasis) syndrome was first described by Lutz-Richner and Landolt in 1973 and after then similar cases were scarcely reported worldwide. There's no reported case in Korea. It was first suggested that ARC syndrome was inherited by X-linked recessive trait but now it was thought to be inherited by autosomal recessive trait also. Most parents were consanguineous but some unconsanuineous parents were also reported. We report on 1 male and 1 female infant who had ARC syndrome from 2 unrelated families. They were born from unconsanguineous parents.

Journal of the Korean Society of Neonatology 1998;5(1):72-76
Congenital dislocation of the knee is a very rare condition and was first described by Chatelaine in 1822. The etiology of this condition is unknown. It is generally subclassified as simple hyperextension, subluxation, and dislocation, depending on the degree of the joint displacement and the severity of disease. There are a large of associated conditions that have been described, the most common of which are congenital dislocation of the hip, club foot, arthrogryposis, and Larsen's syndrome. The mainstay of treatment is early serial rnanipulation and splinting. Operative treatment was indicated whenever conservative treatment did not lead to satisfactory reduction. The authors experienced a case of congenital hyperextension of left knee associated with the calcaneovalgus deformity of both foot. Early closed treatment obtanied a successful reduction and satisfactory knee motion.
