5.Study on ralationship between muscle strain and arm positions

Study was conducted in laboratory condition for investagating the relationship between muscle strain and arm positions. Rerults showed that: the bio-potential of brachioradialis, deltoid and trapezius muscles were significant higher when the arms were elevated at haft-arm length. The trapezius had highest bio-potential than the other left. The subjective shoulder pain occurred after 15-17 mimutes of experiment. When was higher hio-potential, that the muscle pain was more obvious. The accumulation of pain can be considered as reason of that called Neck-Shoulder Disorders.

6.A Case of Milia en Plaque Induced by Physical Stress.

Milia en plaque is designated as an atypical subtype of milia which is characterized by a group of milia on an erythematous base. It usually arises spontaneously in predisposed persons without any apparent causative factor and commonly occurs on the periauricular area. Histopathologic finding is consistent with milia and treatment is not established. We report a case of milia en plaque produced by physical stress in the right arm.

8.Sacral ratio in normal children and patients with anorectal malformations.

Evaluation of the sacrum in anorectal malformations (ARMs) is important because of the frequent association with ARMs and functional outcome after correction of ARMs. Sacral defects are not easily detected because of immaturity of sacrum in children and overlooking of pediatric surgeons. The authors utilized the sacral ratio in normal children and patients with ARMs. In normal children, the mean true sacral ratio and mean sacrococcygeal ratio were 0.60+/-0.08 and 0.72+/-0.13 respectively. Sacral ratio was not correlated with age and did not changed with age in same patient. However, true sacral ratio and sacrococcygeal ratio were significantly lower in patients with high type ARMs than those of normal children (p<0.001). There was no difference between patients with low type ARMs and normal children. These results suggest that abnormal sacrums are more frequently encountered in patients with high type ARMs than in normal children, and that true sacral ratio and sacrococcygeal ratio can be used in the evaluation of the abnormal sacrum.

9.Humerus Shaft Fracture in a Wakeboarder.

Humerus shaft fracture is a frequent injury in orthopedic practice and generally occurs through direct or indirect trauma. Indirect trauma mechanisms of humerus shaft fractures are mostly related with arm wrestling or throwing activities. Recently, the population enjoying wakeboard are increasing, and the humeral shaft fracture can occur during wakeboarding. We report a case of humerus shaft fracture occurring during wakeboarding trick, which was treated successfully using plate osteosynthesis.
