Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare clinical syndrome. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is gradually being accepted as the standard treatment for PMP. At Aerospace Hospital, we have been treating patients with PMP since 2008 and performing total peritoneal resection since 2016. This study summarizes the experience at our center and collates past data. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of a prospectively maintained database of all patients who had undergone CRS and HIPEC for PMP at our center. Clinical data, such as the surgical approach, completeness of cytoreduction, and surgical complications, were collected. The results from follow-up were analyzed to simultaneously evaluate the clinical value of CRS+HIPEC and peritonectomy procedures. Objective To observe morphological characteristics and activity distribution of T. asahii biofilm. Methods The morphological characteristics of T. asahii biofilm were observed under an inverted microscope and scanning electron microscope, and activity was measured and quantitatively analyzed by 2,3-bis (2-methoxy-4-nitro-5-sulfophenyl)-5-[(phenylamino) carbonyl]-2H-tetrazo-lium hydroxide (XTT) assay and viable count, respectively. Spatial distribution of dead/vital cells, activity and thickness of biofilm at different layers were assessed under a confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM) following double staining with FDA/PI. Results T. asahii formed a biofilm in vitro on the surface of polystyrene materials. Under a scanning microscope, the biofilm displayed a complex three-dimensional structure which composed of spores, pseudohy-pha and true hypha. As time prolonged, the activity and quantity of biofilm increased. The results of XTT assay were correlated with those of viable count (r = 0.94, P < 0.01). The activity was of no obvious difference between different layers of the biofilm. The thickness of biofilm varied from 14.3 μm to 31 μm. Conclusions The structure of T. asahii biofilm in vitro is more complex than that of planktonic T. asahii. The activity is of no significant difference between different layers of T. asahii biofilm.

From September 2002 to May 2006, five patients ( age range, 24 to 46; mean, 32) with tibial defect underwent transplantation of free latissmus dorsi osteocutaneous flap using bridge-like vascular anastomosis. All the osteocutaneous flaps survived without any serious complications, and tibial defects were improved completely. After 1.5 to 4.5 years' follow-up ( mean, 2.6), no remarkable dysfunction was found at donor sites, and local injury was reduced. This study indicates that transplantation of free latissmus dorsi osteocutaneous flap using bridge-like vascular anastomosis might be useful in leg reconstructive surgery if only one vessel is remained.

Objective ① To investigate the level of the vitamin D endocrine system in peripheral relationships with bone mineral density (BMD) and the disease activity respectively. Methods The level of the 25-hydroxylate vitamin D3 (25OHD3) and 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 [1,25(OH)D3] in plasma from 43 SLE patients and 44 normal controls were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene expression was determinied by real-time PCR in peripheral blood. BMD measurements in the lumbar spine (L1-4) and left proximal femur (femoral neck) were performed using dual X-ray absorptiometry before treatment. The relationship between the vitamin D endocrine system and the bone mass were studied. We also discussed the relationship between the vitamin D endocrine system and the disease activity. Results The levels of 25OHD3 and 1,25 (OH)2D3 were lower in the initial SLE patients than normal controls (P<0.01, P<0.01). The expressions of VDR gene were significantly increased in initial SLE compared with normal controls (P<0.01). The initial SLE patients had significantly lower BMD values, and higher frequency of osteopenia (35%) at both sites of measurement compared with matched healthy controls (P<0.01). The initial SLE patients were divided into two groups by BMD, abnormal group and normal group. There were no differences in 25OHD3, 1,25 (OH)D3 and VDR gene expression (P0.05). There was no correlation between the vitamin D endocrine system and BMD in initial SLE patients. There was no correlation between the vitamin D endocrine system and the disease activity either. Conclusion Vitamin D endocrine system may play an important role in SLE, but the level of VDR gene is not correlated with BMD and disease activity.

AIM To optimize the combined enzymatic extraction for alkaloids and polysaccharides from Dendrobium nobile Lindl..METHODS With enzyme consumption,enzymolysis temperature,enzymolysis time and solidliquid ratio as influencing factors,contents of dendrobine,total alkaloids and polysaccharides as evaluation indices,orthogonal test was applied to optimizing the combined enzymatic extraction.RESULTS The optimal conditions for papain extraction were determined to be 0.10 g for enzyme consumption,45 ℃ for enzymolysis temperature,2 h for enzymolysis time,and 1 ∶ 50 for solid-liquid ratio,the contents of dendrobine,total alkaloids and polysaccharides were 3.495 5,4.341 8 and 35.898 7 mg/g,respectively.The optimal conditions for cellulase extraction were determined to be 0.30 g for enzyme consumption,50 ℃ for enzymolysis temperature,2 h for enzymolysis time,and 1 ∶40 for solid-liquid ratio,the contents of three constituents were 3.514 8,4.351 3 and 36.331 2 mg/g,respectively.The optimal conditions for pectinase extraction were determined to be 0.45 g for enzyme consumption,55 ℃ for enzymolysis temperature,2.5 h for enzymolysis time,and 1 ∶ 40 for solid-liquid ratio,the contents of three constituents were 3.524 4,4.452 8 and 26.324 2 mg/g,respectively.CONCLUSION This stable and reliable method can be used for the rapid combined enzymatic extraction for alkaloids and polysaccharides from D.nobile.

The combination of Danggui and Honghua (GH) is a popular herb pair commonly used in clinic for the treatment of blood stasis syndrome in China. To evaluate the activating blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis effects of the combination of different proportions of Danggui and Honghua on acute blood stasis rats, and optimize the proportion of GH to have the best activating blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis effect. Acute blood stasis rat model was induced by subcutaneous injection of adrenaline and ice water bath. The blood stasis rats were administrated intragastrically with GH (1 : 0, 4 : 1, 2 : 1, 3 : 2, 1 : 1, 2 : 3, 1: 2, 1 : 4 and 0 : 1) extracts. The whole blood viscosity (WBV), plasma viscosity (PV), and high shear whole blood relative index (HSWBRI), low shear whole blood relative index (LSWBRI), and erythrocyte aggregation index (EAI) were tested to observe the effects of GH on hemorheology of blood stasis rats. And the maximum aggregation induced by adenosine diphosphate (ADP) was tested to observe the effect of GH on platelet aggregation index of blood stasis rats. In addition, the prothrombin time (PT), thrombin time (TT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and plasma fibrinogen (FIB) were tested to observe the effects of GH on blood coagulation function of blood stasis rats. Then principal component analysis and multi-attribute comprehensive index methods were both used to comprehensively evaluate the total activating blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis effects of GH. The results showed that the hemorheological indexes and coagulation parameters of model group both had significant differences with normal group. Compared with model group, GH (1 : 0, 4 : 1, 2: 1, 3 : 2, 1 : 1, 2 : 3, 1 : 2, 1 : 4 and 0 : 1) could improve all the blood hemorheology indexes and regulate part indexes of blood coagulation function and platelet aggregation in acute blood stasis rats. Based on principal component analysis and multi-attribute comprehensive index methods, GH 1 : 1 and GH 3 : 2 both had the best effect of blood circulation and dissipating blood stasis, and the effect of GH 1 : 1 was slightly better than GH 3 : 2. These results suggest that GH could obviously ameliorate the abnormality of hemorheology and blood coagulation function in acute blood stasis rats. The optimized proportion of GH was consistent with regulations of medicine usage that GH 1 : 1 had the highest frequency used in traditional Chinese formulae. It could provide scientific basis for more effective application of the compatibility between Danggui and Honghua in modern clinic medicine.

Angelicae Sinensis Radix-Chuanxiong Rhizoma has the effects of nourishing and tonifying blood, activating blood and dissipating blood stasis, regulating menstruation and analgetic, which is commonly used Chinese medicine pair (CMP) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic. It might be an independent formula, and is also usually used in many gynecological formulae and modern TCM prescriptions. This paper mainly analyzed and summarized the compatibility theory, bio-active constituents, compatibility effects and action mechanism, and clinical applications of the CMP, which can provide a basis for the depth research and development of the CMP.

Chinese medicine pairs (CMP) are specific compatibility with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory as principle, which was formed on basis of effect and treatment theory of TCM. The compatibility of CMP can enhance the effect, or reduce the toxicity. So, compatibility effects of CMP were studied from different pharmacology levels including animals, tissues and organs, cell and molecular levels, their synergy and compatibility attenuation were also evaluated with monomer component-component (group) compatibility-single herb-CMP-formulae as the main line, and the action mechanisms were investigated, all of which can provide scientific basis for the clinical applications of CMP and creation of TCM new drugs.
