1.Imaging diagnosis of monostotic fibrous dysplasia of thoracic and lumbar spines

[Objective]To analyse the imaging findings of thoracic and lumbar fibrous dysplasia and evaluate the imaging characteristics.[Method]Among 5 cases of monostotic fibrous dysplasia of thoracic and lumbar spines,4 were imaged with CT scaning,2 with MRI and 5 with X-ray.All materials were analysed.[Result]Each X-ray revealed a round or oval radiolucent lesion surrounded by a distinct and thick rim of sclerosis.CT showed a round or oval low-density lesion with a high-density borderline between the lesion and normal vertebral bone tissue.Bone cortex remained intact in all cases.The lesion showed homogeneous long T1 signal on T1WI and hypo-or isointensity signal on T2WI.There was a characteristic hypointensity loop surrounded the lesion on T1WI,T2WI and PdWI.The lesion was demonstrated obviously in the contrast enhancement of scanning.[Conclusion]Monostotic fibrous dysplasia of thoracic and lumbar spine shows distinctive imaging characteristics that are different from dysplasia of limb bone or skull.These characteristics are decisive in the diagnosis of the lesion.
2.Study of chondrocyte on the layered scaffold under minic microgravity culture

[Objective]To evaluate the feasibility of the minic microgravity as a method and the layered cylindric collagen-chitosan-?-tricalcium phosphate composite as a scaffold for the cartilage tissue engineering after an observation of how it absorbs the chondrocytes and affects the cell behavior.[Method]The chondrocytes were isolated and multiplied in vitro,and then the chondrocytes were seeded onto the porous collagen-chitosan-?-tricalcium phosphate composite scaffold and were cultured in both minic microgravity and ordinary environment for 3 weeks.The effects of the composite scaffold on the cell adhesivity,proliferation,morphological changes and synthesis of the extracellularmatrix were observed by the growth curve,phase-contrast microscopy,histology,scanning electron microscopy and immunohistochemistry.[Result]The chondrocytes that adhered to the scaffold increased significantly and secreted extracellular matrix in the center of the porous scaffold around the chondrocytes under minic microgravity compared with ordinary environment.Immunohistochemistry of type Ⅱ collagen was positive.[Conclusion]The minic microgravity environment will be a good method for the cartilage tissue engineering.And the layered cylindric collagen-chitosan-?-tricalcium phosphate composite scaffold has a good cellular compatibility.It will be an ideal scaffold for the cartilage tissue engineering.

To investigate the degradation features of HA and PDLLA/HA composites in different proportion in vitro. Four kinds of foams consisting of PDLLA, PDLLA/HA (5%wt), PDLLA/HA (20%wt), and PDLLA/HA (35%wt) were immersed in distilled water. The X-ray radiograph, CT scan and MRI appearance of 5 patients with pathologically proven fibrous dysplasia in thoracic and lumbar spine vertebrae were retrospectively analyzed. Plain radiographs, CT scans and MR images showed the presentation of eccentric lesion with intact cortex bone and marginal sclerosis in vertebral bodies without involvement of vertebral appendix and extraosseous soft tissue. The lesion masses were round (one being oval-shaped) and radiolucent in plain radiographs and CT scans. Homogeneous long signal was observed on T1 weighted image and strongly enhanced when gadolinium was administered. On T2 weighted MRI, short signal was found in the anterior part of the mass, long signal in the posterior part, and short and slight long signal in the middle part, without partitioning and laminating change. There was a good correlation between radiological features and surgical findings. These findings may be useful to diagnose fibrous dysplasia in spine.

5.Comparison of effects of different intravenous injection methods of 18F-FDG imaging agent in PET/CT examination

Objective To comparatively study the differences of 18F‐FDG imaging agent by three kinds of different intravenous injection method for conducting PET / CT examination in aspects of the puncture success rate ,residual amount of drug injection and staff ray exposure time and their significance .Methods 240 patients with PET /CT examination were randomly divided into the group A ,B and C ,80 cases in each group .The drug injection adopted the traditional direct injection ,indwelling catheter injection and scalp venous needle connecting syringe(indwelling bubbles) .The puncture success rate ,drug residues and staff contacting radio‐pharmaceuticals time were compared among 3 groups .The obtained relevant data were statistically analyzed .Results The puncture success rate in the scalp venous needle connecting syringe (indwelling bubbles) and the indwelling catheter injection was higher than that in the traditional direct injection and the staff contacting radiopharmaceuticals time was significantly decreased ,the differ‐ences among them were statistically significant(P< 0 .01) ;the radioactive drugs residue in the scalp venous needle connecting syr‐inge was significantly decreased than that in other two kinds of injection method ,the difference was statistically significant (P <0 .01) .Conclusion The injection method of scalp intravenous needle connecting syringe (indwelling bubbles) significantly increases the puncture success rate ,reduces the radioactive drug residue ,at the same time decreases the staff radiation exposure time ,this method has the advantage in the radionuclide injection .
6.Effect of FK506 on expression of hepatocyte growth factor in murine spinal cord following peripheral nerve injury.

This study is to investigate the effect of FK506 on expression of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) in rats' spinal cord following peripheral nerve injury and to elucidate the mechanisms for neuroprotective property of FK506. Fifty male rats were randomly divided into normal group, injury group and treatment group. Models of peripheral nerve injury were established by bilateral transection of sciatic nerve 0.5 cm distal to piriform muscle. Then the treatment group received subcutaneous injection of FK506 (1 mg/kg) at the back of neck, while the injury group was given 0.9% saline. The L(4-6) spinal cords were harvested at various time points after the surgery. Western blotting and immunofluorescent staining were used to detect the level and position of HGF in spinal cord. Immunofluorescent staining showed that HGF-positive neurons were located in anterior horn, intermediate zone and posterior horn of gray matter in normal spinal cord. Western blotting revealed that there was no significant difference in the expressions of HGF between the injury group and the normal group, while the expression of HGF was significantly higher in the treatment group than in the injury group 7 and 14 days after surgery. It is suggested that peripheral nerve injury does not result in up-regulation of the expression of HGF in spinal cord, while FK506 may induce high expression of endogenous HGF after injury thereby protecting neurons and promoting axonal outgrowth.

8.Comparison of status and predictors of academic burnout between Korean Nationality and Han Nationality nursing students

Objective To investigate the status and difference of learning burnout between Korean-Chinese nursing students and Chinese nursing students;and to compare the influencing factors of learning burnout between them.Methods A total of 307 nursing students in Yanbian University were recruited by convenience samphng method.Data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0,using descriptive statistics,t-test,ANOVA,correlation analysis,and linear regression analysis.Results The emotion and learning burnout of Korean-Chinese nursing students scored (3.18±0.52)points and (2.84±0.33)points,which were higher than (3.04±0.53)points and (2.69±0.36) points of Chinese nursing students (t=5.72,4.19,all P < 0.05);The significant predictors of learning burnout of Korean-Chinese nursing students were effective commitment,continuance commitment and ideality commitment;and the significant predictors of Chinese nursing students were effective commitment,continuance commitment and behavior self-efficacy.Conclusions Because of the special background of Korean-Chinese nursing students,it is suggested payed attention to improve their major commitment and learning self-efficacy,then to decrease their learning burnout.
9.The efficacy of rehabilitation after reoperation for recurrent lumbar disc herniation

Objective To observe the effect of early rehabilitation therapy on recovery from reoperation for recurrent lumbar disc herniation (RLDH).Methods Sixty-five cases who received surgery for RLDH between 2007 and 2009 were randomly divided into a rehabilitation group and control group.Both groups were treated with the same surgical approach and routine treatment.Early and comprehensive rehabilitation therapy was provided in the rehabilitation group during the perioperative period,including preoperative and postoperative muscle strength training,postoperative sitting and standing balance training,and acupuncture.The control group was instructed only in general exercise.Before the operation and 2 weeks and 3,6,12 and 24 months afterward,the surgical outcomes of all cases were assessed using the JOA score and the improvement rate in the JOA score.Any postoperative complications and intervertebral fusion were also observed.Results The average postoperative JOA scores of both groups were significantly higher than their preoperative scores.At all of the time points after the operation,the average JOA scores and all improvement rates in the rehabilitation group were significantly higher than those in the control group.Postoperative complications such as deep venous thrombosis,urinary retention and constipation were significantly less among the rehabilitation group than among the controls.All the intervertebral bone implants were well fused on time.Conclusion Early rehabilitation can significantly improve the effectiveness of RLDH reoperation and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.It is recommended for clinical application.
10.Establishment of pTet-on rat precartilaginons stem cell strains and construction of pTRE-PTHrP(1-36) responsive plasmids

Objective To establish a doxycycline-controlled immortalized pre-cartilaginons stem cells (IPCSCs) strains, clone parathroid hormone-related peptide[PTHrP(1-36)] gene and construct re- sponsive plasmid, pTRE-PTHrP (1-36). Methods Plasmid pTet-on was transfected into IPCSCs by using LipoinfectaminTM 2000 and then the stable clones were obtained by G418 screening. The doxycyc- line was added into the medium of monoclonal cells that were transiently transfected with plasmid pTRE- 2Hyg-Lue. The total RNA was extracted from PCSCs and the PTHrP(1-36) gene obtained by RT-PCR method. Then, the PTHrP (1-36) gene was subcloned to plasmids of Tet-responsive element with the se- lection marker of hygromycin pTRE-2Hyg to construct recombinant eukaryotic expression plasmid pTRE- PTHrP(1-36). After transferred into E. coli-DH5α, the clone was amplified, the recombinant plasm0ids were purified and identified by double-enzyme digestion. Results The doxycycline induced IPCSCs line was obtained, with 50 times higher than the non-induced cell line. Double enzyme digestion analysis and sequencing showed that the target gene was cloned into recombinant plasmid. Conclusions The induced IPCSCs line can be used to highly express alien genes. The responsive plasmid containing PTHrP (1-36) gene may be premising for rigorous control of PTHrp (1-36) gene expression.
