Results of studying in 4 districts of Ninh Binh city in June 1998 showed that the morbidity rate in people over 60 year olds was highest, followed by groups of children under 1 year and 5 year. Female morbidity rate was higher than this in male, especially the women at ages of 16-59 (5.4% compared with 2.9%). The average frequency of incidence estimated 92 times/100 inhabitants/year (0.9 generally and 0.8 for male; 1.0 for female). The 3 common diseases were the central nervous syndromes, the chronic respiration diseases, and bone and joint pain.

The study was carried out on 48 workers producing polymer-composite material for over 2 years. The results showed that: although the exposure time is not so long, the polymer-composite material producing has influenced badly to workers' health such as: headache, fatigue... Workers have to be off more because of illness. There are functional changes of central nervous system such as: longer simple reaction time, impairment of short-term memory; decrease of concentration; decrease of electrical activeness of cerebral cortex and sleepy disorder.

Composting is the transformation of organic waste through decomposition by microbacteria into soil-like material. Organic waste used in composting is from agricultural waste like vegetables from farms, markets, restaurants, hotels, processing plants. There are two techniques of composting: (1) composting of waste pile with air supply system, (2) natural composting with air supplied by tossing the pile. Composting is used widely in other countries to manage waste. Composting not only results in a soil-like material as a good fertilizer but also it reduces a consiferable amount of waste.

Study on the extract of Morinda citrifolia (MC) fruit with the ratio of 5:1 (1g extract was prepared from 5g of dried MC fruit) in order to determine the effects of extract on radiation-induced immunosuppressive mice. The results showed that: oral administration of this extract with daily dose of 6 g/kg in 9 consecutive days (3 days before and 6 days during receiving gamma ray) has increased the relative weight of spleen and thymus, total leukocyte count, number of lymphocytes, natural killers and monocytes, rate of immune rosette forming cells, hemolytic halo, and the skin test with OA antigen, compared with the mice group that has been only received gamma ray without drug

A random study on skin temperature change at 12 couples of Yuan point was carried out on 120 subjects. These subjects were divided into two groups: 60 subjects with duodenal ulcer and 60 healthy subjects served as control. Results: There were difference in skin temperature of bilateral Thai xung point in both male and female with gastric-duodenal ulcer (P<0.05-0.01). Temperature of 12 couples of Yuan point in this group was higher than those in control group (P<0.05-0.001)

Background: Abnormal chromosome may be abnormal in number or structure of chromosomes related to normal chromosomes or sex chromosomes. One sign of abnormal chromosomes that we can observe during pregnancy is the abnormal ultrasound images. Objectives: To discover the relations between the chromosomal abnormalities and some fetal abnormalities determined by ultrasound. Subjects and method: A prospective descriptive study combined with a retrospective study on 250 pregnant women with fetal abnormalities from Aug 2006 to Aug 2008. Results: Among 250 pregnant women with fetal abnormalities determined by ultrasound taken amniocentesis, rate of late amniocentesis (over 20 weeks) was the highest (50.8%), while rate of ideal amniocentesis (16-20 weeks) only accounted for 29.6%. Abnormal chromosomal rate of multiple abnormalities of fetus statistically significant were higher than that of mono abnormal of fetus (46.8% vs. 18.5%/ p<0.0l). Conclusion: Abnormal phenotype determined by ultrasound; rate of chromosomal disorder was 27.2%.

50 patients with the chronic cerebro circulation insufficiency ages of 45-78 in the health care acupuncture department of the ViÖt Nam institute of traditional medicine participated to a study. The clinical and para-clinical changes after 45 days of training of exercise of M.D. NguyÔn V¨n H­ëng were monitored. The results have shown that the exercise improved the clinical condition of the cerebro circulation insufficiency. The clinical score according to the table khadjew reduced significantly in which 62% patients with obvious remission, 35% patients with moderate remission, no patients with exacerbation of disease. The exercise improved the cerebral circulation in some biological indicators such as cerebral blood flow electroencephologram, lipemia, and respiratory function.

In two years (1996 -1998) there were 55 patients with contracts and adherence of the scars in the axilla due to burn that had been operated in the department of plastic surgery of the national institute of burn with results: Good: 78,18%. - Medium: 21,82%. We have used surgery methods: transfer skin flap on the spot with Z,Y,V model, full thickness skin grafts or skin flap with vascular pedicle to cover defect after removed scars. But these methods must depend on the disposition, the position and the degree contracts of the scar. With these results, we affirmed that the effects of surgery methods in treatment for contracts and adherence of the scar in the axilla with a view giving back the movement function and the aesthetic for the those patients.
