1.Some opinions of the natural transform of the diseases in the myelo-proliferative syndrome (MPS)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):28-31
MPS comprised 4 disease's forms, such as: Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CLM), polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocytothemia (ET) and idiopathic myelofibrosis (IMF). From 1985 to May-2001 at Friendship hospital, authors have followed up a group of 86 patients with MPS and some remarks had been drawn out: Some disease's forms of MPS can transform each other, such as: +PV transformed in to CML: 10.00%; +PV transformed in to ET: 16.67%; +IMF transformed in to CML: 66.67%; +ET transformed in to CLM: 8.0%. Some case in MPS, although have not yet truly transformed, but have some changes, as such: +ET with concomitantly increasing erythrocytes: 4.0%; +IMF with concomitantly increasing platelets: 33.33%; +CML with concomitantly increasing platelets: 21.43%; Authors have also mentioned many interesting issues about the way of transformation, the last diagnosis for those disease's forms and the prognosis of these transformations

2.Clinical features of patients with myeloproliferative syndrome (MPS)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):21-2
This study included 55 patients who admitted to Huu Nghi Hospital from 1985 to 1998. It is found that spleen enlargement is common in myeloproliferative conditions, with the incidence is 100% of patients who have chronic granulocytic leukemia and those have idiopathic myelosclerosis. These patients have grade II or more of spleen enlargement. This symptom is less common in patients who have polycythemia vera or essential trombocythemia, and these patients are likely to have grade I of spleen enlargement. Anemia is more likely to be found in patients with chronic granulocytic leukemia, especially in those with idiopathic myelosclerosis, but this symptom is infrequent in patients with essential trombocythemia. Patients with polycythemia vera in typical have excessive blood. Infection and hemorrhage occurred predominantly in patients with chronic granulocytic leukemia and in some cases of essential trombocythemia. Symptoms of high blood pressure, tip finger bruise and limb weakness have been found mainly in patients with polycythemia vera. In some cases with polycythemia vera, both red cell and white cell counts are increased. While patients with chronic granulocytic leukemia, polycythemia vera and idiopathic myelosclerosis expresses obvious clinical symptoms, the symptoms in patients who have essential trombocythemia are unmarked.

3.The cytological features of patients with myeloproliferative syndrome
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):18-20
Objectives: Finding the markers/symptoms of cytology for each disease and all diseases belonged the myeloproliferative syndrome (MPS). Subjects: 55 patients in the H÷u NghÞ Hospital during 1985-1998. Results: The increased leukocytes and immature cells found in the peripheral blood of patients with MPS. However, the level and rate of these were different: 1st increased level (chronic granulocytic leukemia, 2nd increased level (essential myelofibrosis), 3th increased level(primary multi erythro was always accompanied with erythrocythmia where as the chronic granulocytic leukemia and essential myelofibrosis were accompanied with anemia. The primary thrombocythenia remains the normal erythrocyte. The thrombocythenia is not a obviously marker in the primary thrombocyte but also in the chronic granulocytic leukemia and the primary multierythrocyte. The thrombocyte found in the peripheral blood of patients with myeloproliferative syndrome. The number of marrow cells were reduced in the essential myelofibrocythemia remained at normal level. The significant increased number of marrow cells found in the most of patients with the chronic granulocytic leukemia. The obvious increased rate of germ cell of granulocyte and thrombocyte in the marrow cell picture.

4.Fertility analysis through the 2002 year Demographic and Health Survey
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(11):6-8
The conclusions of fertility rate were briefed from analysis of fertility result of Demographic and Health Survey through 2002. Currently, the average birth delivery is 1.9 child /woman. That figure is low among Asian countries. The lowest birth rate in urban women is 1.4; Southeast women are 1.4, women with high school certificate upward are 1.4. The average duration between two birth delivery increasing from 36 months in 1997 to 47 months in 2002 in general. The average age for the first delivery highest for urban women, southeast area women and women having high school certificate up ward. The rate of pregnancy in under age is low, highest for illiteracy women or under graduate primary school

5.Comparison of the infected mouse brain by Nakayama and Beijing -1 strain for Japanese Encephalitis vaccine production
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;515(7):3-5
Using white Swiss mouse at 3-4 weeks of age for injection of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) virus. Every 8 lots of the mouse had been infected with Nakayama and Beijing-1 strains by injection of 0.03ml into their brains, then followed up within 3 days. The paralysed mice were collected at the 69th hour of the beginning and at the 120th hour of the end. The interval between collection time was every 3 hours. In this study, the rate of mice with paralysis due to Beijing-1 strain was higher than those due to Nakayama strain (94.99% and 92.97%, respectively). The authors suggested that use of Beijing-1 strain to produce JE vaccine is more effective than Nakayama strain.

6.Evaluation of technical support to commune health level in Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2004;14(6):73-76
This study was to evaluate the effect of technical support in terms of providing training on integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI) to commune health centers of Quynh Phu district and Hung Ha district of Thai Binh province. The results of a comparison between the baseline survey in 2002 and the follow-up survey in 2004 showed that case management of health workers in 2 districts had improved significantly and were more comprehensive in terms of assessment, classification, treatment and counseling mothers. The proportion of correct assessment of cases on general danger signs increased by 47.5%. The proportion of correct assessment of cases on main symptoms (cough, diarrhea and fever) increased by 63.4%, on the correct classification of cases increased by 72,5% and the correct drug use increased by 46.7%. Th proportion of caregivers/mothers received proper advice on drug use, proper feeding and follow-up increased by 43.5%, 34.9% and 41.1%, respectively

7.Isosexual precocious pseudopuberty: a case report
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2005;10(1):20-20
Report a case of patient Tran Đ.V. born at December 26th 2002 in Ninh Thuan district, Khanh Hoa province, admitted hospital at November 25th 2003 due to hirsutism and developed genitalia. Ultrasound and CT scan examinations showed a mass in his right adrenal gland, which was subsequently removed surgically. The histopathological findings were consistent with an adreno-cortical carcinoma. This is a rare tumor with frequency 1/10.000 adrenal tumors in adult. In children, there are some cases and most frequently in girls. Adreno-cortical carcinoma combining with isosexual precocious pseudopuberty is rarer in boys

8.Survey on knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) and information, education and communication (IEC) in malaria control for Raglai people, Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa province
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(1):22-30
A cross-sectional survey on KAP and local IEC activities in malaria control for the ethnic minority people of Raglay was carried out in Khanh Hoa province's Khanh Vinh district in order to produce appropriate IEC materials for this group of population. The interviews of 400 random samples from 8 villages of two communes showed that 85.93% of respondents correctly understood the causes of malaria, 94.47% seek treatment in the health center if they got ill, and 82.22% correctly knew how to prevent from malaria. IEC for malaria control was made mainly through the local mass media of loudspeakers and health workers. Posters and leaflets were found to be poor and not highly effective. It is recommended to implement IEC campaigns on the face to face basis, community meetings, and network of local health communicators.
