2.The effect of weekly iron supplementation on anemia prevention give women at reproductive age

129 women aged 15-29 years old, no pregnancies, in 10 communes of Than Mien district, Hai Duong province had administered ferrous tablets. After 20 weeks, who had enough ferrous tablets, the rate of low iron storage subjects decreased from 35.2% to 11.6%. The incidence of anemia from 20.9% to 8.8%. Mean Hb level enhanced considerably by 8.3g/l; mean ferritine level enhance by 10mcg/l. No newly accquired case of anemia and of low iron storage in the group of enough iron, but one case of anemia and 3 cases of low iron storage in the group of under given iron.

5.Posaconazole as primary prevention of fungal infection in intensive immunosuppressive therapy for severe aplastic anemia.

Objective: To Evaluate the efficacy and safety of posaconazole as primary prevention of invasive fungal disease (IFD) in patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA) treated with anti-thymus/lymphocyte immunoglobulin (ATG/ALG) combined with cyclosporine intensive immunosuppressive therapy (IST). Methods: A retrospective analysis of clinical data of 58 SAA patients who received IST of anti-thymocyte immunoglobulin combining cyclosporine and antifungal prophylaxis during April 2013 to May 2017 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital was performed. The patients were divided into posaconazole prophylaxis group and the control group (itraconazole or fluconazole). The disease characteristics, IFD prevention effect and adverse drug reaction, curative effect and prognosis of the two groups were compared. Results: Posaconazole was used to prevent fungal infection in 20 patients. The other 38 patients were used as the control group. Retrospective analysis showed comparable characteristics (gender, age, disease severity, etiology, interval between the onset of disease to treatment, ATG/ALG type) of both groups. The incidence of IFD were 0 and 15.8% in posaconazole prophylaxis group and the control group, respectively (P=0.084). In the control group, there were 6 cases diagnosed as IFD. Of them, 2 were confirmed, 2 suspected and 2 not identified. Five of the 6 cases were pulmonary infection, 1 bloodstream infections. Of the 6 IFD cases, 5 were very severe aplastic anemia (VSAA). There was no obvious adverse reaction in posaconazole prophylaxis group. Conclusion: Posaconazole is safe and effective for primary prevention of fungal infection of SAA patients receiving IST, especially for the VSAA.

6.The application of decision tree in the research of anemia among rural children under 3-year-old.

OBJECTIVETo study the application of decision tree in the research of anemia among rural children.
METHODSIn the Enterprise Miner module of software SAS 8.2, 3000 observations were sampled from database and the decision tree model was built. The model using decision tree of CART bases on Gini impurity index.
RESULTSThe misclassification rate of decision tree model was, training set 21.2%, validation set 21.9%. The Root ASE of decision tree model was, training set 0.399, validation set 0.404. The area under the ROC curve was larger than the reference line. The diagnostic chart showed that the corresponding percentage was higher than the other. The decision tree model selected 9 important factors and ranked them by their power, among which mother of anemia (1.00) was the most important factor. Others were children's age (0.75), time of ablactation (0.53), mother's age (0.32), the time of egg supplementation (0.26), category of the project county (0.26), the time of milk supplementation (0.16), number of people in the family (0.13), the education status of the mother (0.12). Decision tree produced simple and easy rules that might be used to classify and predict in the same research.
CONCLUSIONDecision tree could screen out the important factors of anemia and identify the cutting-points for factors. With the wide application of decision tree, it would exhibit important application values in the research of the rural children health care.

7.Study complication of aplastic anemia following chemotherapy of acute myelogenous leukemia

Background: Aplastic anemia following chemotherapy of acute leukemia is a common complication, which may lead to severe consequences. Objective: To study characteristics of aplastic anemia occurred in ccute myelogenous leukemia (AML) patients, following chemotherapy. Subjects and methods: A prospective study was carried out in 50 AML patients treated at National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion from Aug 2005 to Dec 2006. These patients were treated by induction chemotherapy with "3+7" regime. Result: Aplastic anemia had been seen in 100% patients. Characteristics of this condition were poor marrow cells (average marrow cell count was 15.1\xb112.6 G/l) and strongly decreased counts of hemoglobin, white blood cells and platelets. Hemoglobin, white blood cell and platelet counts at the lowest level were 83.32 g/l; 0.96 G/l; 30.18 G/l; respectively. This situation prolonged for 3-4 weeks and changed into the most severe condition at the end of second week after chemotherapy. Infection frequency was 92%. Conclusion: Aplastic anemia following chemotherapy of AML patients is a common complication with severe consequences such as significant decrease of WBC and platelet counts, which may lead to opportunistic infection. 9.Consensus on the clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancer related anemia in China (2023 edition).

Cancer related anemia (CRA) is a common side effect in patients with tumors, the incidence of which is related to tumor type, treatment regimen, the duration of chemotherapy, etc. The pathogenesis of CRA has not been fully defined. CRA may lead to chemotherapy dose reduction or may even delay chemotherapy. Patients with CRA require red blood cell transfusion, thus increasing the treatment cost, reducing the efficiency of chemotherapy and the patient's quality of life, and shortening the survival time. The main treatments of CRA include red blood cell transfusion, iron supplements, erythropoietin, and so on. Based on recent literature and clinical studies, the expert committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association drew up the consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of anemia related to tumor in China (2023 edition). The 2023 consensus incorporates the latest evidence-based medicine evidence and Traditional Chinese Medicine related content and aims to provide more reliable diagnosis and treatment plans for Chinese oncologists to help improve CRA and the quality of life in patients with cancer.

10.Prevalence and prevention of common nutritional risks in children after earthquake.

Children have been identified as the most nutritionally vulnerable group when disaster happens. The most common nutritional risks include protein-energy malnutrition, iron-deficiency anemia, and trace element deficiency in children after earthquake. During the disaster relief, effective nutritional interventions should be performed according to the nutritional conditions of children in the affected area, so as to prevent the common nutritional risks. Timely diagnosis and treatment should be provided for children at a high risk of malnutrition.
