1.Impact of probation administration on teaching quality of clinical probation

Research of the impacts of probation administration on teaching quality for students'clinical probation study is to control the whole process of probation teaching,which is through the strengthening of administration on three parts,including pre-clinical probation,clinical probation and post-clinical probation,so that administration elements of teaching for probation forms close links,including formulation of teaching plan goals,organization and implementation of the probation process,means and methods of probation,and evaluation of effects and quality of probation results and quality of student evaluation of teaching management trainee factors into a closed ring. Considering highly the administration process,refining the administration flow-sheet,identifying administration objectives,and systematic evaluation of the quality of teaching trainees to achieve continuous improvement of the quality of probation teaching reflect the concept of "student-centered" teaching management concepts,and provides a new approach to enhancing the quality of clinical probation teaching for adapting to the new model of medical education and management development needs.

3.Telomerase activity and its relation with prognosis in pheochromocytoma

Objective To investigate the expression o f telomerase activity in pheochromacytoma and to assess its utility as a prognos tic marker. Methods Telomerase activity was estimated in 23 samples of pheohromocytoma tissue and 6 samples of normal adrenal medullae by autoradiography-based telomeric repeat amplification protocol. The reaults w ere analized with follow-up findings. Results Of the 2 3 pheochromocytoma samples, 2 had telomerase activity and both the telomerase-p ositive pheochromocytomas apparently arose from extraadrenal tissues. All normal adrenal medullae samples were negative for telomerase activity. During follow- up, we found both of the telomerase positive patients developed mutiple metastat ic lesions after surgery. Only one of 21 telomerase negative patients clinically developed bilateral lung metastases and a local recurrence after surgery. Conclusions Telomerase activity may be used as an important i ndicator of potentially malignant pheochromocytoma and may serve as a prognosti c marker.
4.Changes in the lymphocyte subgroup after TACE, THPP of primary hepatic carcinoma

Purpose: Observe the varities of lymphocyte subgroup of patients suffering from primary hepatic carcinoma ( PHC) during the treatment by hepatic arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and Hyperthemia Peritoneal Perfusion (THPP). Methods: Twenty seven patients were treated with TACE and THPP a week after TACE. We tested for lymphocyte subgroup three times with the flow cytometry (FCM) for pre-TACE, post-TACE and THPP a month later. 6.Effect of glutamine on intestinal mucosal barrier function and antioxidative capacity in rats with radiation injury

Objective To observe the effect of glutamine on gut barrier function and antioxidative capacity in rats with radiation damage. Methods A total of 30 healthy Wistar male rats were randomly divided into three groups: control group, GLN enriched group(+GLN) and GLN free group( GLN). Rats in control and GLN group were fed with a basic diet, while 3% GLN was added into the diet of the +GLN group. On the 15th day, rats in GLN and +GLN groups received 9.0 Gy 60 Co ? irradiation in total body. The rate of the gut bacterial translocation and the level of endotoxin, GSH and SOD in the serum were determined at the end of the experiment. Results The rate of bacterial translocation and serum endoxin level were significantly lower in +GLN than in GLN, and GSH and SOD levels in serum were significantly higher in +GLN than in GLN. Conclusion Glutamine supplement is helpful to protect the gut barrier function and improve the antioxidation capacity in rats with radiation injury.
7.Discussion of anti-inflammatory mechanism of cyclooxygenase (COX-2) inhibitor in improving cardiovascular safety.

The new generation cyclooxygenase (COX-2) inhibitor could reduce the gastrointestinal side effect of NSAID drugs, but eventually increase the cardiovascular risk, because its selective inhibition of COX-2 induces the imbalance between PGI2 and TXA2 and the reduction of vasodilatory NO. Under pathological conditions, active oxygen species (O2-*2, etc) were used to induce endo- thelial dysfunction, activate NF-κB to induce expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and TNF-α, increase ET-1, TXA2 with vasoconstrictor effect, reduce PGI2 and NO with vasodilatory effect, generate further oxidative damage together with NO, and reduce the bioavailability of NO. NO-NSAIDs and NO-Coxibs drugs raised the level of NO by introducing NO-donor (ONO2). NSAIDs drugs enhanced the anti-inflammatory activity of COX-2 and reduced gastrointestinal side effects by inhibiting selectively COX-2. If antioxidant structures with active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicines were introduced to improve the antioxidant activity of NSAIDs, they could scavenge the active oxygen species to protect the normal function of vascular endothelia and enhance the bioavailability of NO, which is conducive to enhance the cardiovascular safety of cyclooxygenase (COX-2) inhibitor.

10.Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells via intramuscular injection influence the expression of cytokines related to dilated cardiomyopathy in rats

BACKGROUND:Studies have shown that intramuscular transplantation of xenogeneic umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s in a certain dose range is safe and reliable, and it also confirm that this approach is equal y safe and effective for heart failure in rats with dilated cardiomyopathy. OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s through intramuscular injection on the cytokine expression in adriamycin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) rats. METHODS:Total y 160 rats were randomly divided into control group (n=20) and DCM group (n=140). Rats in the DCM group were administered adriamycin intraperitoneal y to establish DCM model. The DCM rats were randomly subdivided into model control group (served as model group), cel supernatant group, the low-dose mesenchymal stem cel group (served as low-dose group), the middle-dose mesenchymal stem cel group (served as middle-dose group), and the high-dose mesenchymal stem cel s group (served as high-dose group). Secondary injection was performed at 4 weeks after first injection. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The ELISA test showed that the serum levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), leukemia inhibitor factor (LIF) and granulocyte macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) were higher in the model group than the control group before and after intramuscular injection (P<0.05). After intramuscular injection, the levels of HGF, LIF, GM-CSF and VEGF in the low-dose group were increased significantly (P<0.05), which were significantly higher than those in the model group (P<0.05). The level of LIF in the middle-dose group was significantly elevated after injection (P<0.05), while there were no significant differences in HGF, VEGF and GM-CSF levels in the high-dose group before and after intramuscular injection (P>0.05). Both the immunohistochemical and RT-PCR results showed that the expressions of insulin-like growth factor-1, VEGF and HGF were increased in al the DCM rats as compared with the control group, which were increased most in the middle-dose group. These findings indicate that low-dose and middle-dose human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s intramuscular injection can increase the serum levels of HGF, LIF, GM-CSF, VEGF and the expressions of IGF-1, HGF and VEGF in the myocardium of DCM rats.
