1.Pinggan Yishen Ditan Decoction for Hypertensive Obesity:A Clinical Observation of 31 Cases
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(02):-
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Pinggan Yishen Ditan Decoction (Liver-Calming Kidney-Boosting Phlegm-Flushing Decoction) for hypertensive obesity and its possible mechanism. Methods Sixty cases of hypertensive obesity were randomly divided into Chinese medicine group (Chinese medicine was added on the basis of treatment in control group) and control group. The treatment course lasted for 8 weeks.Blood pressure (BP),body weight, waist circum-ference(WC),waist-to-hip ratio(WHR),metabolism parameters, fasting insulin(FINS) and Leptin were observed and compared before and after treatment. Results There was significant difference in SBP,DBP,BMI,WC,WHR,FPG,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C,FINS,Leptin and ISI after treatment in Chinese medicine group (P

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1953;0(01):-
Objective To investigate the effects of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) on Src-suppressed C Kinase Substrate(SSeCKS) in cultured astrocytes. Methods Purified astrocytes were randomly divided into three groups:control group, singly stressed and multiple stressed groups. The expression of SSeCKS was detected by Real time RT-PCR and Western blotting, while immunocytochemistry was used to investigate the subcellular localization of it. Results Real time RT-PCR indicated that, after 12 hours incubation, both 100 ?g/L and 1mg/L LPS were able to elevate the levels of SSeCKS mRNA compared with control group, while 1mg/L LPS did not have a stronger effect than 100 ?g/L.Western blotting analysis showed 100 ?g/L LPS significantly increased the expression of SSeCKS.In time response experiments, the levels of SSeCKS expression enhanced three hours after the stimulation, peaked at the sixth hour, coincident with its rapid phosphorylation, and remained high until the 24th hour.Immunocytochemistry suggested a perinuclear translocation of SSeCKS,while the PKC inhibitor RO-31-8220 blocked it.Conclusion In cultured astrocytes,LPS can enhance the expression of SSeCKS,increase its phosphorylation level and change its subcellular localization. These effects are correlated with the PKC pathway, which indicates SSeCKS might participate in the signal transduction of inflammation in cultured astrocytes.
8.Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome in a patient with relapsing-remitting optic-spinal multiple sclerosis: A case report and discussion of possible mechanism

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is characterized by orthostatic intolerance, a
presentation of autonomic dysfunction which is frequently observed in the patients with multiple
sclerosis (MS). Nevertheless, to date, there have been a few studies focusing on POTS in MS patients
and the underlying pathomechanism. We present a 28-year-old woman with relapsing-remitting opticspinal
multiple sclerosis who also suffered POTS and discuss the possible pathomechanism of POTS
in MS.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1994;0(04):-
Objective To investigate clinical significance of proinsulin and true insulin in obese children with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT).Methods There were 21 IGT and 52 normal glucose tolerance (NGT) children. Control cases were 40 normal children. The levels of serum fasting proinsulin, true insulin,insulin,c-peptide and glucose were measured in all the subjects. Results 1.Levels of fasting proinsulin,c-peptide, glucose, insulin, true insulin and homeostasis insulin resistance in obese children with IGT showed significant difference compared with NGT (P

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2001;0(05):-
Objective To evaluate the effects and methods of interventional therapy of the atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis(ARAS).Methods 28 cases of ARAS were implanted with stents by guiding catheter or guidewire exchanging, 31 stents were implanted (Palmaz stent in 22, Wallstent in 4, and Symphony stent in 5). Follow up was undertaken for 6 months to 1 year, together with recording the blood pressure, creatinine, the effective number of antihypertensive medication and comparing with those before the procedure. Results Stents were implanted successfully in all cases. Complication of renal arterial embolism happened in 2 cases with recanalization by guidewire exchanging. Restenosis happened in 4 cases. Conclusion Stent implantation for renal artery stenosis by guiding catheter is an ideal method or probably the chief interventional therapy to preserve the renal function.
