2.Complexity analysis of gait signal based on Jensen-Shannon divergence.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(3):583-585
When people are walking, they will produce gait signals and different people will produce different gait signals. The research of the gait signal complexity is really of great significance for medicine. By calculating people's gait signal complexity, we can assess a person's health status and thus timely detect and diagnose diseases. In this study, the Jensen-Shannon divergence (JSD), the method of complexity analysis, was used to calculate the complexity of gait signal in the healthy elderly, healthy young people and patients with Parkinson's disease. Then we detected the experimental data by variance detection. The results showed that the difference among the complexity of the three gait signals was great. Through this research, we have got gait signal complexity range of patients with Parkinson's disease, the healthy elderly and healthy young people, respectively, which would provide an important basis for clinical diagnosis.

4.Effects of interleukin-18 and hypoxia-inducible factor-1α in serum and gingival tissues of rat model with periodontitis exposed to chronic intermittent hypoxia.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2015;33(4):383-387
OBJECTVEThis study evaluates the expression of interleukin-18 (IL-18) and hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-lα in rat periodontitis model exposed to normoxia and chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) environments. The possible correlation between periodontitis and obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) was also investigated. Methods: Thirty-two Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned into four groups: normoxia control, normoxia periodontitis, hypoxia control, and hypoxia periodontitis groups. The periodontitis models were established by ligating the bilateral maxillary second molars and employing high-carbohydrate diets. Rats in hypoxia control and hypoxia periodontitis groups were exposed to CIH treatment mimicking a moderately severe OSAHS condition. All animals were sacrificed after eight weeks, and the clinical periodontal indexes were detected. The levels of IL-18 and HIF-1α in serum and gingival tissues were determined using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The correlation between attachment loss (AL) and the levels of IL-18 and HIF-lα in hypoxia periodontitis group was evaluated.
RESULTSThe levels of IL-18 and HIF-lα in hypoxia periodontitis group were significantly higher than that in normoxia periodontitis and hypoxia control groups (P<0.05). Furthermore, the levels of IL-18 and HIF-lα in serum (r-0.792, r=0.753, P<0.05) and gingival tissues (r-0.817, r=0.779, P<0.05) were positively correlated with AL.
CONCLUSIONCIH could aggravate the destruction of periodontal tissues, which is correlated with IL-18 and HIF-lα levels.

5.Effect of the etanercept on the hip pain in children with ankylosing spondylitis
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2014;29(12):940-942
Objective To study the early effect of the etanercept on the hip pain in children with ankylosing spondylitis(AS).Methods Seventy-seven patients were randomly divided into etanercept group (group A,n =21 cases),diclofenac sodium group (group B,n =20 cases),sulfasalazine plus methotrexate group (group C,n =19 cases),placebo control group (group D,n =17 cases).Group A was treated with etanercept 0.8 mg/kg,once a week.Group B was given diclofenac sodium enteric-coated tablets 1 mg/kg,2 times a day.Group C was treated with sulfasalazine tablets 15-25 mg/kg,2 times a day and methotrexate tablets 10-15 mg/m2,once a week.Group D patients were given vitamin C 0.395 g,2 times a day, then the effect of different drugs on AS hip pain in children was observed. Results One day after administration, the visual analogue scale (VAS) score of the etanereept group and diclofenac sodium group was significantly different statistically compared with the placebo control group, and this effect continued until more than 14 days.Sulfasalazine with methotrexate group had no difference in the experimental time window compared with that of the placebo control group. The VAS score of the etanercept group compared with the diclofenac sodium was significantly different statistically, and this effect continued until more in 14 days. Conclusion Etanereept can relieve the hip pain in children with AS rapidly and continuously.

7.The Restriction Between Distance and Velocity Measurement in Medical Doppler Ultrasound and the Detection of Blood Flow Velocity Profile
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1995;4(4):183-187
The restriction between distance and velocity measurement in medical Doppler ultra-sound is first proposed in this paper. The reasons resulting in this restriction are also analysed. Then our method to estimate blood flow velocity profile is introduced,in which the restriction is avoided. The discussion of this restriction in medical Doppler ultrasound and the method to detect blood flow velocity profile are finally presented.
8.A comparative study of gentamicin and triamcinolone acetonide for the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2009;32(9):4-6
Objective To observe the therapeutic effects and adverse events of gentamicin and triamcinolone acetonide on primary trigeminal neuralgia. Methods Forty patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia were allocated into two groups to receive a peripheral nerve block with lidocaine combined with gentamicin (gentamicin group) or triamcinolone aeetonide (triamcinolone acetonide group), respectively, once a week for 5 weeks. The pain intensity were assessed using visual analogue scale (VAS) before treatment and once a week just prior to every treatment, continued to make such assessment every month until 3 months after treatment. The pain relief rate and the occurrence of adverse events were also evaluated. Results The VAS of patients in two groups decreased significantly after treatment (P < 0.01). Compared with triamcinolone aeetonide group, the VAS in gentamicin group were higher during the early 3 weeks after treatment (P< 0.05 or < 0.01). At the observing point of 2, 3 months after treatment, the VAS in gentamicin group were lower than that in triamcinolone acetonide group(P< 0.01). The effective rate in gentamicin group was lower than that in triamcinolone acetonide group during the early 2 weeks after treatment, the clinical cure rate in gentamicin group was higher than that in triamcinolone aeetonide group at the observing point of 2, 3 months (70% and 60% vs 15% and 5%). Conclusion Compared with the triamcinolone aeetonide, the therapy of the gentamicin has slower onset time and longer sedative duration, has no corticosteroids-related side effect, and also has the possibility of repeat blocking time after time.
