1.Clinical Significance of Detection of Serological Antibodies in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2015;(11):687-690
The prevalence of inflammatory bowel disease( IBD)increases every year in our country. Endoscopy combined with histopathological examination can contribute to the diagnosis of IBD,however,it is an invasive and complex procedure. Finding a simple and accurate diagnosis method has been an eager task. Serological antibodies detection has an important guiding value for the diagnosis of IBD. This article reviewed the clinical significance of detection of serological antibodies in patients with IBD.
2.Connective tissue growth factor in the intervertebral discs exerts an anabolic effect on the extracellular matrix
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(15):2410-2414
BACKGROUND:Because of the deficiency of researches on connective tissue growth factor associated with orthopedic diseases, very little attention has been paid to the studies on connective tissue growth factor in the intervertebral disc.
OBJECTIVE:Through exploring the role and mechanism of connective tissue growth factor in disc degeneration, to provide new evidence for biotherapy of disc degeneration.
METHODS: A computer-based search of PubMed and CNKI was performed by the first author to retrieve articles relevant to the effect and mechanism of connective tissue growth factor on degenerative disc and its related tissues published from January 1997 to October 2014. The keywords were “intervertebral disc; CTGF; TGF-β;hypoxia; disc degeneration” in Chinese and English, respectively, which appeared in the title, abstract or keywords. Articles published recently or in authoritative journals were preferred, and finaly 34 articles were included in result analysis.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Recentlyin vivo and in vitro studies on the intervertebral disc have clearly demonstrated the anabolic role of connective tissue growth factor in stimulating matrix production from nucleus pulposus cels and revealed that the transforming growth factorβ-connective tissue growth factor axis was of great importance to celular matrix productionviaregulations and stimulations to transforming growth factor β and hypoxia, while the regulation of hypoxia for connective tissue growth factor was another in a specific cel and tissue manner.
3.Exploration of tumor response evaluation criteria in the era of tar-geted therapy
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;(6):366-370
The era of targeted molecular therapy for cancer has arrived. The mechanisms of targeted molecular drugs are different from those of chemotherapy drugs. The tumor response evaluation criteria that we currently use are the summary of experiences from evaluating the effect of chemotherapy drugs. Despite continuous improvement and standardization of the details, tumor response evalua-tion criteria, from the earliest WHO criteria to the improved RECIST and RECIST 1.1 criteria, are all based on measurement of tumor size, as chemotherapy drugs directly kill tumor cells. The aforementioned criteria are outlined in this review. However, targeted molecu-lar drugs mainly inhibit tumor cell proliferation. The effect of targeted molecular drugs on tumors is different from that of chemothera-py drugs. Thus, tumor response evaluation criteria suitable for targeted molecular drugs have been developed in recent years. This re-view introduces Choi criteria that use CT attenuation coefficient (Hounsfield unit [HU]) to describe tumor density. The criteria have measured indicators that include tumor size and tumor density. This review also introduces the following criteria derived from the Choi criteria for Modified Choi (mChoi) criteria size and attenuation CT (SACT), and morphology, attenuation, size, and structure (MASS).
4.Personnel Training Model Exploration on National Foreign Aid of Traditional Medicine
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(8):1608-1611
In order to further promote friendly cooperation with developing countries, Chinese government has been committed to increasing the intensity of cooperation and human resource development among developing countries. Healthcare is one of the key areas of China’s foreign aid. This article described the general conditions and experiences of national foreign aid training projects for developing countries undertaken by the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute. From aspects of participant enrollment, training program implementation, and training feedback, the training mode of national foreign aid on traditional medicine was introduced. This article focused on the selection of teachers, preparation of professional textbooks, and evaluation of teaching quality. Training programs over the years were guided by clear training concepts and accurate goal settings, which provided a useful exploration for the personnel training mode of national foreign aid on traditional medicine.
5.Treatment of Acute Lumbar Sprain by Acupuncture plus Cupping
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2003;1(6):37-38
Fifty cases of acute lumbar sprain were treated by the combination of acupuncture, cupping and kinesitherapy. Forty-three cases were cured and 7 cases improved, the total effective rate being 100%. This therapy has an exact effect with a short course of treatment.
6.Gene Polymorphisms of Imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(12):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the genetic polymorphism of imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD). METHODS The genes of imipenem-resistant P.aeruginosa were amplified by RAPD assay in 8 clinical isolates and PCR products were analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis and cluster analysis. RESULTS The phenotypes of drug resistance were the same, but most of the genotypes were different, even though some of them could be equal. CONCLUSIONS RAPD assay reveals the special genotypes of imipenem-resistant P.aeruginosa and makes the relation between the phenotype of drug resistance with genotype of drug resistance definite, which provides molecular epidemiological evidence for strategies to control resistant imipenem P.aeruginosa infections.
7.Resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Its Chlorhexidine-sulfadiazine-resistant Gene
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(02):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from two hospitals and its chlorhexidine-sulfadiazine-resistant genes(qacE△1-sul1). METHODS Microdilution tests were performed to detect the susceptibility of 66 strains of P.aeruginosa to 6 kinds of antimicrobial agents. The qacE△1-sul1 gene was analyzed by PCR. RESULTS The resistant rates to other antimicrobial agents were between 12.5-87.5%.qacE△1-sul1 gene was 50.0%. CONCLUSIONS The 66 strains are multiple-drug-resistant.There are very high positive percentages of qacE△1-sul1 gene in P.aeruginosa isolated from two hospitals.
8.Molecular Mechanism of Class II Enveloped Viruses Membrane Fusion
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(07):-
Entry of enveloped viruses into host cells requires fusion of the viral envelope with a cellular membrane. This step is mediated by viral glycoproteins that undergo a dramatic conformational change. Recent advances in structure and function of the fusion proteins of the class Ⅱ viruses, Rhabdoviruses and Herpesviruses were described. Proteomics computational analyses to locate the functional domain of fusion protein were introduced. The fusion proteins of class Ⅱ and class Ⅰ viruses differ radically in their initial structures but refold toward similar final conformation (trimer of hairpin). The Rhabdoviruses and Herpesviruses have a novel fold combining features of fusion proteins from class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ. The fusion proteins of these viruses have a different conformation change and mediate a different fusion process, therefore, the proteins belong to a novel class of fusion proteins. The potent inhibitor of virus entry should be new strategies for developing antiviral drugs.
