Objective To compare the effects of vasopressin and adrenaline on cerebral resuscitation in rats. Method Sixty male SD rats were used to set the animal model of cardiac arrest and were randomly (random number) divided into 4 groups (n = 15/group): sham operation group (sham-gro), negative control group (neg-gro), vasopressin group (vas-gro) and adrenaline group (adr-gro). Blood pressure was recorded, and brain tissue samples were obtained. Results There was no significant difference in the recovery rate between vas-gro and adr-gro 30 min after resuscitation (P ＜0.05). The mean blood pressure in vasgro was higher than that in adr-gro within 30 min (1,2, 5, 10, 20, 30 min) after restoration of spontaneous circulation. The measured MDA, SOD and GSH were significantly different (P ＜ 0.05) between each two groups among vas-gro, sham-gro and adr-gro. Conclusions The recovery rate was similar between vasopressin group and adrenaline group during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in rats. However, vasopressin can to maintain the mean arterial pressure at a higher level after resuscitation, which can the increase the cerebral perfusion and reduce brain cell damage.

Objective To explore the effects of estrogen,sport walking with weight and estrogen plus sport walk on serum lipid,bone metabolism and bone mineral density(BMD) in postmenopausal women.Methods 52 postmenopausal women were divided into the hormone replacement therapy(HRT) group(n=12),sport walking with weight group(Sp group,n=14),HRT + Sp group(n=12) and control group(n=14).HRT group took compound nylestriol,Sp group took sport walking with 5 kg weight and exercise intensity was from 60% to 80% VO2max,HRT+Sp group received two treatments as HRT group and Sp group.The experimental duration consisted of six months.Results The total cholesterol(TC),TC/high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),alkaline phosphatase(APL) and urine calcium(Ca)/creatinine(Cr) were markedly lower in three experimental groups than the control group and before experiment(P<0.05 or P<0.01),HDL-C in Sp and HRT+Sp groups were markedly higher than the control group and before experiment(P<0.05),BMD of spine(L2～L4) and left trochanter in three experimental groups were markedly higher than the control group(P<0.01) and before experiment(P<0.0).Conclusion Both estrogen replacement therapy and sport walking with weight effectively improve serum lipid,prevent and reverse osteoporosis induced by menopause in women.

BACKGROUND: Studies have shown that Maca can enhance immune cel function, improve mitochondrial respiratory chain enzymes, and play a role in anti-oxidation and anti-aging.
OBJECTIVE: To observe Maca effects on kidney mitochondrial respiratory function and anti-aging capabilities in elderly rats after exhausted exercise.
METHODS: 10-month-old elderly rats were intragastrical y administrated Maca powder 5 g/kg, once a day, and did treadmil exercise, 5 days in a week. Rats were randomly divided into control group, Maca group and training group and Maca+training group. At 6 weeks after training, rats in each group did exhausted exercise (35 m/min), and immediately received intraperitoneal injection of 2% sodium pentobarbital. The kidney was obtained, and mitochondria were extracted by differential centrifugation. A spectrophotometer was used to measure mitochondrial respiratory chain activity.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) Mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme and antioxidant enzyme activity: mitochondrial respiratory chain enzyme I-III, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase activities were higher in the Maca+training group than in the control group, Maca group and training group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01), but malondialdehyde content was lower (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) Results suggested that the combination of supplement Maca and incremental exercise can improve mitochondrial respiratory function and delay aging in the kidney of aged rats after exhausted exercise. Moreover, supplemented Maca and incremental exercise have a synergistic effect.

Ezrin is a member of ezrin-radixin-moesin(ERM)family acting as correlationship between plasma membrane and cytoskeleton,which plays an important role in maintaining shape,polarity,and movement as well as signal transduction of cells.The recent studies indicate that Ezrin abnormally overexpresses in majority of tumor cells,which has close relationship with carcinogenesis,invading and metastasis of tumor cells.

Objective To observe the effect of salvia lignstrazine combined with methylcobalamin in treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Methods From May 2010 to May 2011,112 cases of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients were classified into two groups by random digits table,control group of 56 cases were treated with methylcobalamin and observation group of 56 cases were treated with salvia lignstrazine combined with methylcobalamin.The clinical effects,motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV) and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV) of common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve between two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate in observation group was 87.5％(49/56),which was significantly higher than that in control group [ 57.1％( 32/56 ) ] (P ＜ 0.05 ).After treatment,the levels of MNCV and SNCV of common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve were (47.89 ± 6.93 ),(49.12 ± 5.54) m/s and (43.69 ± 4.97 ),(42.35 ± 5.14) m/s in observation group,which were significantly increased compared with those before treatment,while the levels of MNCV and SNCV of common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve were (41.15 ± 4.36),(39.89 ± 3.67 ) m/s and (37.57 ± 3.08),(36.56 ± 2.81 ) m/s in control group,which had no significant difference compared with those before treatment (P ＞ 0.05 ).Moreover,the levels of MNCV and SNCV of common peroneal nerve and tibial nerve in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (P＜ 0.05).Conclusion Salvia ligustrazine combined with methylcobalamin in treatment of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy can enhance the clinical effects,and improve neurological status,and can be applied in clinic.

Triple-negative (TN) carcinoma is a molecular subtype of breast cancer characterized by the lack of expression of estrogen receptor (ER),progesterone receptor (PR) and HER-2.It is a heterogeneous disease,not only on the molecular level,but also on the pathologic and clinical aspects.TN tumors can be further classified into two subtypes:basal-like,defined as expressing epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and/or cytokeratin (CK) 5/6 by immunohistochemistry,and non-basal-like; the majority of TN tumors are basal-like.TN tumors usually have a more aggressive behaviour and poorer outcome compared with non-TN breast cancers,and lack molecular targets commonly used in targeted therapy,making this group of tumors difficult to treat.Developing novel,effective treatment strategies for these tumors is crucial for improving their prognosis.This review describes a recent study series on prognostic and predictive values of tumor biomarker susing in TN breast cancer patients.TN tumors are associated with significantly higher expression of Ki67 and p53 compared to non-TN tumors.Hormone receptor negativity rather than HER-2 negativity is associated with the increased Ki67 and p53 expression in TN tumors.Furthermore,high expression level of Ki67 ( ＞ 10％ ) but not p53,is significantly associated with nodal metastasis in TN tumors,indicating that Ki67 has better prognostic value than p53.TN tumors with distant metastases are significantly associated with lower expression of androgen receptor (AR) as compared to those with only loco-regional disease ; there is a significant negative correlation between AR and Ki67 expressions among AR expressing TN tumors.Basal-like subtype TN tumors with nodal and distant metastases are associated with significantly higher intratumoral expression of EGFR and CK5/6 as compared to those without metastases.Therefore,increased EGFR and CK5/6 intratumoral expression and decreased AR intratumoral expression,rather than the frequency of their expression,may play a role in the development of metastases and may be predictive of metastatic disease in TN breast cancer patients.Anti-EGFR and anti-AR targeted therapies may provide potential treatment options for TN carcinomas,especially those tumors not responding to chemotherapy.

Robotic assisted surgery system as an advanced technique gains particular attention over the world.We hereby introduce the history of Robotic assisted surgery system, and induce the advantage or existing problems of this technique. We also compared the new technique with traditional surgery and laparoscopic surgery. The future of this novel technique is assessed with the recent development application at home and abroad.

AIM:To determine the contents of berberine hydrochloride,palmatine hydrochloride and rhaponticin in Sanhuang Tablets(Radix et Rhizoma Rhei,berberine hydrochloride,extract of Radix Scutellariae) by RP-HPLC. METHODS:RP-HPLC method with Shimadzu TM column(250 mm?4.6 mm,5 ?m) was used. The gradient elution mixture mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile and 0.05% Lauryl sodium sulfate(0.1% phosphoric acid). The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 334 nm. The temperature of column was at 25 ℃. RESULTS:The calibration curves of berberine hydrochloride,palmatine hydrochloride and rhaponticin were linear within the ranges of 0.05-1.04 ?g(r=0.999 9),0.02-0.49 ?g(r=0.999 8),0.05-1.02 ?g(r=0.999 9),respectively. The average recoveries (n=6) were 98.7%,97.2%,99.3%,respectively. CONCLUSION:The method of the operation is accurate,reliable and can be used to control the quality of Sanhuang Tablets.
