3.Advances in genomics for ischaemic stroke
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2012;(10):751-756
Ischemic stroke is one of the major diseases of causing adult disability and death.Age,sex, smoking, hypertension, and diabetes, etc.are the risk factors for ischemic stroke, but they can only partially explain the reasons of stroke onset.Twins, families, and single-gene genetic stroke studies have shown that ischemic stroke has obvious genetic predisposition. In recent years, genomics has made remarkable progress in ischemic stroke study and has shown that many new single nucleotide polymorphisms or genes are associated with ischemic stroke and its risk factors. However, the contribution of these genetic genes for ischemic stroke is still too small and the repetitive studies are needed for further confirmation.

8.Competition as policy tool for public hospital reform in China
Chinese Journal of Health Policy 2014;(11):48-53
The essence of the market-oriented reforms is to promote competition rather than privatization. Competition does not only exist between public and private ownership forms, but also among public hospital them-selves. The promotion of the internal competition among public hospitals will play a positive role for the market mechanism to take effect. Due to the unique in various aspects of health care market, competition can have positive or negative influences on performance, thus the policy makers need to guide the competition policies carefully to make sure they work in the right direction. In regard to the status quo, we provide the following policy suggestions which emphasize on stronger regulation, higher degree of autonomy for lower-level medical institutions, and more information disclosure.
