1.Progress in research on tissue engineered penile corpora cavernosao

Penis is one of the most important components of male external genitalia.Congenital abnormalities and trauma may lead to genitourinary organ damage or default,which require reconstruction.With the development of tissue engineering(TE),penile corpora cavernosa tissue engineening has becoming the core of the penis reconstruction.Recent researches mainly focus on forming scaffolds and transplanting cells(including of endothelial cells and caveruosal smooth muscle cells). Recently, stem cell technology, gene therapy and nervous reconstructive techniques have been combined to promote the development of tissue engineering.Tissue engineering has been thought to be able to make possible the restoring and constructing of the structure and normal funetion of penile corpora cavernosa.This paper gives a review of the recent progress in associated researches on tissue engineering of the penile corpora cavernosa.
2.Measurement of specific site of inferior alveolar nerve canal in adults by cone beam computed tomography

Objectives To investigate the specific site for measuring inferior alveolar nerve canal (IANC) by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT),and to provide reference data of the course of the IANC of the crowd.Methods This study was a retrospective data analysis.One hundred and thirty CBCT cases were measured and compared after classification by gender and age (65 men and 65 women,65 middle age and 65 youth).Since the proximal center of the mental foramen area,the cross-section at which the mental hole just completely breaks the buccal cortical bone was defined as S1,and S2,S3,S4 were defined as cross-sections with 1-cm apart from each other since S1.L1,L2,L3,and L4 were measured as the distance from specific sites on the outer wall of the IANC to the alveolar crest,the outer wall of lingual lateral cortical bone,the mandibular minimum margin,and the outer wall of buccal cortical bone.The results were analyzed using independent samples t test,with P<0.05 being considered statistically significant.Results On the right IANC S2L1,S3L1,S4L1,S2L2,S3L2,S4L2,S1L3,S3L4,the 8 groups of L values measured on these 8 sites,all showed differences between genders (P<0.05).So did the 10 groups of L values measured on the left IANC S1L1,S2L1,S3L1,S4L1,S1L2,S3L2,S4L2,S2L3,S3L3,S4L4 (P<0.05).The middle age group and the youth group were statistically different for the data measured on the right IANC S2L4 (P<0.05).This was the same case for the data measured on the left IANC S1L3.When classified according to gender,L1 in the S1 to S4 sections firstly increased and then decreased,and eventually decreased.The change pattern of L3 was opposite to that of L1.L2 in the S1 to S4 sections firstly decreased and then decreased,and eventually increased.The change pattern of L4 was opposite to that of L2.When the samples were classified according to age,the change pattern L value in the S1 to S4 sections was the same as that under gender classification.Conclusions The effect of gender on the L value of individuals is relatively great,while the effect of age on the L value of individuals value is very small.Setting the corresponding long axis of mandible as a reference,the change pattern of IANC in the mandible can be deduced based on the change of L value from S 1 to S4:from S1 to S4,the course of IANC on the vertical direction is firstly downward,tben turns to upward and goes upward;from S1 to S4,the trend of IANC on the horizontal direction is firstly toward the side of tongue,and eventually turns towards the buccal side.The current study provides reference data for IANC-related anatomy from the mandibular foramen to the mandibular second molars.
4.Advances in Bacillus Calmette-Guerin

Tuberculosis(TB) is a chronic and debilitating infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis(Mtb). It is a significant health concern that poses a serious threat to human well-being. Bacillus Calmette-Guerin(BCG)is the only approved vaccine for the prevention of TB. BCG is made from attenuated bovine Mtb and is highly effective in preventing tuberculous meningitis and granulomatous TB,which are particularly lethal in infants. However,BCG provides limited protection in both children and adults,and this protective effect decreases over time. Currently,there are ongoing improvements being made to BCG,which involve modifications in immunization routes and procedures. Additionally,researchers are working on the development of new TB vaccines. BCG is primarily used for the prevention of TB and the treatment of bladder cancer,although it also has other indications. This paper reviewed the recent research progress of BCG,focusing on its development history,improvements,and indications.
5.Establishment and verification of a real-time quantitative PCR method for determination of exogenous antibody gene copy number in CHO cells

Objective To establish a real-time quantitative PCR method using SYBR GreenⅠto detect the copy numbers of light chain(LC)and heavy chain(HC)of exogenous antibody gene in CHO cells,and verify and preliminarily apply this method.Methods With the B2m(β2-microglobulin)expressed stably in CHO cells as the internal reference gene,suitable primers of LC,HC genes and internal reference gene were designed respectively,and the reaction system and program of the real-time quantitative PCR method were determined. The established method was verified for the specificity,linearity,precision and durability,and used to detect the copy numbers of LC and HC genes in the recombinant cell lines of working cell bank(WCB)and cells of different passages.Results The primers of exogenous genes and internal reference gene showed specific binding to the target fragments;The efficiency of primer amplification for the B2m gene,LC gene,and HC gene was 106. 7%,106. 3% and 99. 1%,respectively,and the correlation coefficients of the linear equations were all greater than 0. 99 with a good linear relationship;The relative standard deviations(RSDs)of precision verification were all less than 1%;Few cycles of freeze-thaw in a short period had little effect on the detection results. The copy numbers of LC and HC genes in different generations of recombinant cell lines detected by the established method showed no obvious changes.Conclusion A real-time quantitative PCR method for the determination of the copy number of exogenous genes in CHO cells was successfully established with good specificity,linearity,precision and durability,which provides a reference for detecting the copy number of exogenous genes expressed in other CHO cell lines
6.Accurate assessment and control of the progression of diabetic retinopathy

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in adults of China has reached 12.8%. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) accounts for approximately 1/4-1/3 of the diabetic population. Several millions of people are estimated suffering the advanced stage of DR, including severe non-proliferative DR (NPDR), proliferative DR (PDR) and diabetic macular edema (DME), which seriously threat to the patients' vision. On the basis of systematic prevention and control of diabetes and its complications, prevention of the moderate and high-risk NPDR from progressing to the advanced stage is the final efforts to avoid diabetic blindness. The implementation of the DR severity scale is helpful to assess the severity, risk factors for its progression, treatment efficacy and prognosis. In the eyes with vision-threatening DR, early application of biotherapy of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor can improve DR with regression of retinal neovascularization, but whether it is possible to induce capillary re-canalization in the non-perfusion area needs more investigation. Laser photocoagulation remains the mainstay treatment for non-center-involved DME and PDR.
7.Research progress of broadly neutralizing antibodies against human immunodeficiency virus

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)is a global public health issue,which has a major impact on human life and health.As the main pathogen of AIDS,human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1)has high variability and latent characteristics,there are no available vaccines and drugs to prevent and cure AIDS.The broadly neutralizing antibodies(bNAbs)against HIV-1 can induce effective immune response to HIV-1 infection in vivo,and neutralize different types of strains at the same time,which have great application potential in preventing HIV-1 infection and controlling the process of AIDS.In this paper,the production and acquisition,classification and characteristics as well as application of HIV-1bNAbs are reviewed so as to provide a reference for the subsequent research on HIV-1 vaccine and development of antibody drugs.
8.Comparison of Discharging Sputum with Machine Vibration and Percussion on Back in Patients with Spinal Cord Injury Complicated by Lung Infection

ObjectiveTo compare the effects of discharging sputum with machine vibration and percussion on back in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) complicated with lung infection.Methods33 patients were divided into machine group (n=18, discharging sputum with machine vibration) and percussion group (n=15, discharging sputum with percussion on back). Then the auscultation of lungs, change of Sp2, abatement time of fever, white blood cells count and X-ray results of chest were compared to estimate the effect of discharging sputum.ResultsThere was a significant difference in the auscultation of lungs between the two groups ( P<0.05), while no significant difference was founded in the SpO2 between two groups after sputum discharged ( P>0.05). The abatement time of fever was shortened significantly in the machine group after treatment( P<0.05). The X-ray results improved significantly in the machine group, compared with percussion group ( P< 0.05).ConclusionThe effect of discharging sputum with machine vibration is better than percussion on back.
9.Development and application progress of standards for antibody against SARS-CoV-2

Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)seriously threatens human health and public health safety.Vaccination plays an important role in effectively controlling the epidemic situation.More than 150 SARS-CoV-2 vaccines have entered the clinical trial stage and 38 have been approved for emergency use or marketing.Neutralizing antibody level is the main index for evaluation of the immunogenicity of vaccines,but there has been no standardized detection method for SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody till now,which makes it difficult to compare the neutralizing antibody levels among different laboratories and different products horizontally,and seriously restricts the development and evaluation of vaccines and antibody therapeutic drugs.With the rapid sale of the first generation of standards for SARS-CoV-2 antibody and the emergence of variants of concern(VOC)of SARS-CoV-2,WHO and China carried out the development of the second generation of standards simultaneously in 2022.This paper reviews the development and application progress of the standards for SARS-CoV-2 antibody in WHO and China.
10.Effect of Community-based Rehabilitation on Psychotic Patients:An 84-Case Report

Objective To investigate the effect of community-based rehabilitation on psychotic patients.Methods84 severe psychotic patients were treated with multidisciplinary community-based rehabilitation including specific drugs, psychological treatment, medical workers, family care, and etc. The implementation rate of taking medicine, improvement rate of disease, working ability of the patients before and after treatment were compared.ResultsAfter treatment, the implementation rate of taking medicine increased from 33.33% to 89.29% ( P<0.01), improvement rate of disease increased from 19.05% to 80.95% ( P<0.01), the working ability increased from 10.71% to 30.95% ( P<0.01), blocked rate decreased from 15.48% to 5.95%, the rate of causing trouble decreased from 2.38% to 0.ConclusionThe community-based rehabilitation can significantly improve the health status and quality of life for the psychotic patients and decrease the accident rate.
