1.Drug eluting stents in coronary interventional therapy
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(25):-
OBJECTIVE: To introduce the current application of drug eluting stents in clinical practice, and investigate the advanced study of sirolimus and paclitaxel eluting stents. DATA SOURCES: An online research of Medline database was undertaken to identify the articles about drug eluting stents published between January 1996 and December 2006, with the keywords of "drug eluting stents, sirolimus eluting stents, paclitaxel-eluting stents", and language was limited to English; Meanwhile, the Chinese articles were retrieved in the Wanfang database from January 2000 to December 2006 by inputting the keywords "drug eluting stents, sirolimus eluting stents, paclitaxel eluting stents". STUDY SELECTION: Over 200 literatures were screened out, and those related with the clinical application of drug eluting stents were collected, subjecting as patients. Randomized or nonrandomized study and control or uncontrol group were all involved. Randomized control large sampling study was preferred for the similar content. Finally 30 articles were included. DATA EXTRACTION: Among 30 selected articles, 5 papers briefly introduced the characteristics of drug eluting stents, 10 papers discussed the mechanism of preventing and treating restenosis by sirolimus eluting stents and paclitaxel eluting stents, 15 papers referred to the clinical application of eluting stents. DATA SYNTHESIS: Drug eluting stent can inhibit the inflammatory reaction and cellular proliferation, delay the vascular endothelization, distinctly reduce the in-stent restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention, and obviously develop the indication of Percutaneous intervention by releasing one or several bioactive substance to blood and surrounding tissues. Currently it is conformed in randomized control clinical trials that sirolimus eluting stents and paclitaxel eluting stents can decrease in-stent restenosis in patients with simple coronary artery stenosis, but the application on those with complex bifurcation affection and acute myocardial infarction is unknown. In addition, the high cost and in-stent thrombogenesis are also in debates. CONCLUSION: Drug eluting stents will be widely applied to reduce the in-stent restenosis and cardiovascular adverse events due to the advancement of interventional technique, modification of interventional instrument and appearance of anti-proliferation drug, which is more specific and lower poisonous and side effects.

9.Questionnaire analysis of mental health test in 2 994 freshmen of normal university
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2006;10(34):166-168
BACKGROUND: College students of normal universities, the major supply of teachers, have influences on their latter career of teacher man.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mental health of freshmen of local normal university in 2005, so as to provide the basis for mental health education and mental counselling.DESIGN: Cluster sampling and cross-sectional investigation.SETTING: Department of Education Science, Hengyang Normal University.PARTICIPANTS: This experiment was carried out in Hengyang Normal University in October 2005. Totally 3 089 freshmen of Hengyang Normal University in 2005 were selected as the participants, including 1 211 male and 1878 female with the mean age of 18.72 years.METHODS: The freshmen were tested by Symptom Check List- 90 (SCL-90)in groups after their enrolment a month later. Before answering the questions, they were given uniform directions and answered every question individually according to their own conditions in the latest week. All the answer papers were handed in on the spot. The data of SCL-90 were inputwith Optical Mark Reader 2000 (OMR2000) into Psychometrics Toolbox STD V3.0 of Psychology Exploring System for calculation of total score and the score of each factor. The unanswered items in SCL-90 were labelled as "never", if more than 5 items were unanswered, the questionnaire was considered to be invalid and therefore rejected for analysis. The total score below 95 points in a questionnaire was considered to suggest low reliability of answers and the questionnaire was also rejected. All the data was input into computer and statistically analysed with SPSS 11.0 software. Differences among groups were compared by using t test.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The scores of SCL-90.RESULTS: Totally 3 089 questionnaires were distributed and 2 994 of them were collected, with the effective rate of 96.92%, including 1 180male, 1 814 female, 2 847 freshmen of liberal arts and 1 147 freshmen of science. All the nine SCL-90 factor scores of the tested freshmen were significantly higher than those of Chinese youth's norm (P<0.01). The female freshmen had significantly higher scores than the male freshmen in the factors of somatization, obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety and phobia anxiety(P<0.05-0.01 ), and contra in the factor of hostility(P<0.01). There was no significant sex difference in the factor of paranoid ideation and psychoticism. The freshmen of liberal arts had significantly lower scores than the freshmen of science in the factors of obsessive-compulsive, hostility and psychoticism(P<0.05-0.01 ), and contra in the factor of phobia anxiety(P<0.05), there was no significant difference in the other factors between the two groups.CONCLUSION: The mental health level of freshmen of local normal university is lower than the average level of Chinese youth. The mental health status of the female freshmen is lower than that of the male freshmen. In obsessive-compulsive, hostility and psychoticism items, the freshmen of liberal arts and science are better than the freshmen of science, but in phobic anxiety items, it is contrary.
10.Experiment in effect of jiangtang zhongyao No.1 on islet cell secretion in vitro
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(43):186-187
BACKGROUND: On bases of preceding study on jiangtang zhongyao No.1 (glucose-reducing No. 1), the experiment was performed in its effect on promotion of insulin secretion of islet cells in vitro.OBJECTIVE: To explore the mechanism of glucose-reducing No.1 so as to provide the scientific evidence for clinical experiment.DESIGN: Neonatal porcine islet cells were collected for generative culture to observe the effect of glucose-reducing No.1 on insulin secretion of islet cells cultured in vitro.SETTING: Department of Pathology of Shandong Province Hospital and Neurological Department of Shangdong Province Hospital of Shandong University.MATERIALS: The experiment was performed in Research Room of Chinese Herbal Pharmacology in Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences, in which, American neonatal pig was selected as the object.METHODS: The obtained neonatal porcine islet cells were randomized into 5 groups, 3 bottles in each group. In culture solution group, the culture solution of equal volume was added. In daonil group, daonil 4 nmol/L was added and in glucose-reducing No.1 0.2 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.1 mL groups, the filter solution of glucose-reducing No.1 0.2 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.1 mL were added successively. The samples in each group were incubated in culture box for 3 hours, and then the upper clear solution was collected to assay insulin content with radioimmunoassay (RIA).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparison of active components of islet cells in each group.RESULTS: In basic culture solution, insulin levels were not different significantly among groups. The release amounts in glucose-reducing No. 10.2 mL, 0.15 mL and 0.1 mL groups were increased compared with insulin content in basic culture solution [(784.72±81.25), (462.25 ±14.91);(711.73±91.46), (467.62±15.56); (679.40±78.84), (475.82±13.33) mU/L],and multiple proportion relationship was not obvious with dosage of Chinese herb. In daonil group, insulin secretion was increased significantly [(857.96±77.08), (470.58±15.43) mU/L].CONCLUSION: Jiangtang zhongyao No.1 simulates islet cells to increase significantly the secreted amount of insulin so that the glucose is well reduced.
