1.Effect of Renshen Jianxin Capsule on Insulin Resistance and Coagulation in Coronary Heart Disease

Objective To explore the effect of Renshen Jianxin Capsule on insulin resistance and coagulation in coronary heart disease. Methods Angina patients with Qi dificiency and blood stasis were randomly divided into Renshen Jianxin Capsule group (30 patients, treated by Renshen Jianxin Capsule and common western medicine) and metformin group (30 patients, treated by metformin and common western medicine). The changes of blood glucose, insulin sensitivity index (ISI), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) were observed after six weeks. Results Blood glucose and PAI-1 were decreased, ISI was improved significantly after treatment of Renshen Jianxin Capsule. There was no significant difference of PAI-1 in metformin group. Conclution Renshen Jianxin Capsule has similar effect with metformin in improving insulin resistance and better effect in improving coagulation.

[Objective] Discuss the influence of Taoist thought of health, in order to establish Taoist theory support for Chinese medicine keeping in good health.[ Method]Through discussing the influence to health maintenance by the Taoist theory of laissez-faire, returning to nature, prevention of disease, venerating yin and softness, to summarize the importance of Taoist thought in health maintenance. [Result]Taoist thought plays an important role in Chinese medicine health maintenance, Taoist thought emphasizes nihility and innocence, returning to nature, and making life to return to original state, prevention treatment of disease, and also pays attention to the protection of yin, emphasizing the regulation of five internal organs. [Conclusion]Taoist thought is one of the important thoughts inheritance for thousands of years in China, the quietness of the laissez-faire Taoism, the thought of returning to nature, the prevention treatment of disease thought in tonifying physical and spiritual, the thought of venerating yin and softness, al have guiding significance for TCM in health maintenance.

Lifelong blood cell production is achieved by the capacity of hematopoietic stem cell(HSC) to differentiate and self-renew.A growing body of evidence suggest that DNA damage induced HSC senescence may be the principal mechanism of aging and HSC exhaustion in response to the stress exposure.Understanding the mechanisms of HSC senescence will help to find new therapeutics that can ameliorate HSC injury induced by chemo-and radiotherapy,elucidate the molecular mechanisms whereby leukemia/cancer stem cell arise and evade cancer therapy by escaping senescence,and identify the novel molecular targets for intervention.
4.THE INFLUENCES OF TRACE ELEMENT SELENIUMAND VITAMIN E ON SERUM LIPID PEROXIDE AND SERUM GPT IN RAT

The level of serum lipid peroxide in rat is increased as the age of rat increased gradually. When the animals were injected with sodium selenite (0.1mg/kg) and vitamin E (4mg/kg) for five weeks the serum lipid peroxide level was decreased, the combined use of sodium selenite and vitamin E could decrease the level of SGPT apparently.
5.Research progress on the clinical classification and treatment of metastatic Spinal Tumors

The clinical classification of metastatic spinal tumors is based on the degree of malignancy, nervous system function, osteoclasia, and prognosis of patients. The application of this classification system is relatively simple. The assessment and evaluation of patients to estimate the period of survival can guide the individualized treatment of patients. Patients with clear surgical indications can choose to undergo a palliative operation, tumor resection, or total spondylectomy. Alternatively, other patients can opt to have mini-mally invasive surgery aside from the normal surgical approach. Stereotactic radiotherapy and intensity-modulated radiation therapy combined with the use of radiofrequency ablation, radiation, and other therapies can achieve local tumor control, relieve pain, and main-tain normal neurological function. Thus, the quality of life of the patient is improved. Percutaneous vertebroplasty, radiofrequency abla-tion, spinal endoscopy, and other modern forms of minimally invasive surgery will have more applications in the treatment of spinal metastatic tumors.
6.Complicated Hospital Infection by Mucor in Liver Transplant Recipients:A Clinical Analysis

OBJECTIVE To investigate the incidence,symtoms and prognosis of hospital infection by Mucor after liver transplantation.METHODS The clinical data of all the patients with complicated hospital infection orthotopic by Mucor after orthotopic liver transplantation were analyzed restrospectively.RESULTS There were 9 cases with complicated hospital infection by Mucor from in 750 liver transplant recipients.Seven cases developed superficial incisional infection with delayed healing and rapid increased secretion on the surface of incisions.All of them recovered after antifungal therapy.Two cases had pulmonary Mucor infection combined with bacteria and died of multi-organ failure.CONCLUSIONS The incidence of hospital infection by Mucor in liver transplant recipients is about 1%.The most common symtoms are superficial incisional infection and the patients recover well.However,the cases with complicated pulmonary Mucor infection are difficult to treat and have a poor prognosis.
8.Effects of bionic microstructure artificial bone on dog bone marrow stromal cells:an in vitro study

[Objective]To study the effects of different bionic microstructure of artificial bones on the growth and osteogenesis characteristics of dog bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs).[Method]The artificial bones were divided into 4 groups in the experiments:perpendicular structure(experimental group,A),concentric structure(experimental group,B),CPC/ rhBMP-2(calcimrt phosphate cement composited with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein 2)(control group,C)and pure CPC(control group,D).Dog bone marrow mononuclear cells were isolated from the bone marrow by gradient centrifugation and then cultured in non-induced condition.BMSCs at 3~(rd) passage were harvested and inoculated onto the artificial bones of the 4 groups.The implanted cells and artificial bones were retrieved and observed at different times with fluorescence microscope,scanning electron microscope.The proliferation of BMSCs was evaluated by MTT method,and the osteogenic differentiation was evaluated by alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity.[Result]The cultured BMSCs adhered well to the surface of all artificial bones and it was better to A and B groups than to C and D groups.By MTT method,the A values of group A,B,C were significantly higher compared with group D(all P0.05);The ALP activities of BMSCs in group A,B,C and D all increased significantly from the 4~(th) day to the 7~(th) day(P0.05).[Conclusion]The bionic microstrueture artificial bones are satisfactory carriers of BMP and possess good cellular biocompatibility with dog bone marrow stromal cells and have the ability to enhance the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.
9.Comparative study on vascularization of two different three-dimensional structure ?-TCP biomaterials in vivo

[Objective] To study the role of scaffold internal three dimensional structure of on vascularization of ?-TCP biomaterials in vivo.[Method]Twenty four adult rabbits were selected for operation.Two different three-dimensional structure ?-TCP biomaterials(wafer ?-TCP,the pore diameter was from 400 ?m to 500 ?m,the pore inter-connection diameter was 120 ?m;granulation ?-TCP,the particle diameter was from 100 ?m to 200 ?m)were implanted separately into fascia lumbodorsalis of every rabbit.The specimens were harvested in 1,2,4,8 weeks after surgery for histology,scanning electronic microscope(SEM)and SPECT studies in order to observe the vascularization of two different structure ?-TCP biomaterials in vivo.[Result]The biocompatibility of two different ?-TCP biomaterials was favourable.Only a few of immature blood capillaries were detected in some peripheral pores of two different biomaterials in one week after surgery.In four weeks of implantation,the result of histology indicated that the wafer artificial bone had vascularized completely.The number and lumens of blood vessel had increased.The peripheral blood vessel had been mature,showing vascularization crest-time.In eight weeks after sugery,there was no more increase of the number of blood vessel,while the lumens of blood vessel had increased.The mature capillaries were observed by chance.To compare with the wafer artificial bone,the vas cularization rate of the granulation artificial bone biomaterials was slower,and the number of blood vessel was less.On the other hand,the smaller lumens diameter and the infant structure existed in most of blood capillaries.Many blood vessels were not mature in four weeks,the vascular occlusion in some pores was detected.[Conclusion]The pore interconnection pathway in scaffolds is a key factor for vascularization.In other words,the higher density of pore interconnection pathway can induct more complete vascularization in scaffolds,and the diameter can restrict the lumens of blood vessel diameter.
10.Study of Anti-proliferation and Apoptosis after Combined Treatment of IFN-? with Doxorubicin in Caspase-8 Sile-nced Neuroblastoma Cell Line

Objective To explore the influence of IFN-? on anti-proliferation and apoptosis of the Caspase-8 silenced neuroblastoma cell line induced by doxorubicin and the influence mechanism.Methods MTT and flow cytometric analysis were used to detect the survival and apoptosis rates before and after the combined treatment of IFN-? and doxorubicin.Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of caspase-8 protein before and after the treatment of IFN-?.Results The survival rates of doxorubicin(0.03,0.10,0.30?g/ml)used alone for 24h were(95.62?13.03)%,(82.62?7.94)%,(64.84?9.19)%,IFN-?(10,100,1000U/ml)used alone for 48h were(98.37%?11.25)%,(97.15?5.36)%,(98.84?7.41)%.The survival rates of IFN-?(1000U/ml)combined with different concentration of doxorubicin(0.03,0.10,0.30?g/ml)were significantly lower than that of doxorubicin(0.03,0.10,0.30?g/ml)alone.The apoptosis rate of doxorubicin(0.30?g/ml)alone was(22.00?6.55)%,IFN-?(1000U/ml)alone was (8.22?4.00)%,whereas the apoptosis rate of the combined treatment of IFN-? and doxorubicin wassignificantly higher than that of doxorubicin alone;Immunohistochemical staining showed that caspase-8 protein was negative in SH-SY5Y cell line,whereas it become positiveafter the treatment of IFN-?(1000U/ml)for 48h.Conclusion Treating human neuroblastoma cell line SH-SY5Y cell with doxorubicin may induce anti-proliferation and apoptosis.Combined treatment with IFN-? may significantly increase this effect.The mechanism may be realized by upregulating the expression of caspase-8 protein.
