Fibromuscular dysplasia, a cryptogenetic segmental, nonatherosclerotic, noninflamma-tory arterial disease that most commonly involves the renal and carotid arteries, is one of the causes of ischemic stroke in young adults. With the development of various angiographic techniques, the detection rate of fibromuscular dysplasia becomes higher and higher, This article reviews the advances in fibromuscular dysplasia.

World Health Organization believes traditional Chinese medicine is used widely in the world. In order to fit in the new tendency, Chinese government has supported a large number of international cooperation projects of science and technology in the field in the recent years and that offered powerful support and good chances for international development of traditional Chinese medicine. Based on work experience of international science and technology cooperation project, the paper provides practical suggestions about application organizing, agreement signing, focus selecting and project implementing for international cooperation of traditional Chinese medicine. It suggests summarizing the experience of international cooperation for better implementation of science and technology projects frequently, and that will elevate the level of these projects, bring forward more achievements and promote the further international development of traditional Chinese medicine.

To explore the regulation of eIF4E, we screened the protein interacting with eIF4E from human cDNA library by using yeast two-hybrid system. Several clones interacting with eIF4E were identified. One of them was homologous with HUWE1 (HECT, UBA and WWE domain containing 1, also named as ARF-BP1, HECTH9 or HUWE1). Cell co-immunoprecipitation showed that eIF4E could bind to HUWE1 in mammalian cells. We also found that HUWE1 bearing the HECT domain is necessary for its association with eIF4E.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2006;10(32):-
BACKGROUND: Up to now the pathogenesy of nonalcoholic fatty liver(NAFL) is unclear. Uncoupling protein (UCP) of mitochondrial membrane can make oxidative phosphorylation uncoupling in mitochondrium, and then result in decreasing the efficiency of ATP synthesis by mitochondrium and participate the progression of fatty liver by changing energy metabolism.OBJECTIVE: To observe the expressive rule of UCP-2 in NAFL rat models at different time phases.DESIGN: Randomized control animal trial.SETTING: Department of Gastroenterology, Research Institute of Surgery,Daping Hospital, Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: The experiment was performed at National Key Laboratory,Research Institute of Surgery, Daping Hospital, Third Military Medical University of Chinese PLA from November 2004 to December 2005. A total of 64 clean-grade Wistar adult male rats were selected. After being fed with common feed for 1 week, the rats were randomly assigned into model group and normal control group with 32 rats in each group. In each group there were 4 time points: feeding for 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks, 8 ones at each time point.METHODS: The rats in model group received high fat diet (88% basic feed, 10% pork fat and 2% cholesterol) for 12 weeks. Those in normal control group received common feed in different cages (6 rats in each cage).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Blood was collected from anesthetic rats of the two groups at corresponding time point. Animals were killed, and then liver was extracted rapidly. ①Change of expression of UCP-2in liver was determined with immunohistochemical method and Western blot technique. ②Activity of triacylglycerol, free fatty acid (FFA) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in serum was measured with biochemical method. ③Content of malondialdehyde (MDA) in liver tissues was measured.RESULTS: Totally 64 rats were involved in the result analysis. ①Biochemical indicators in serum: Levels of triacylglycerol, FFA and ALT in serum were significantly higher in the model group than in the normal control group at weeks 4, 8 and 12, especially at weeks 8 and 12 (P < 0.01). ②The expression of UCP-2 enhanced gradually with the exacerbation of fatt yliver in the model group, while it was negative in the normal control group.③Content of MDA in liver tissues: It was significantly higher in the model group than in the normal control group at weeks 4, 8 and 12, especially at weeks 8 and 12 [(4.07±0.15), (4.93±0.14), (5.20±0.20) μmol/g; (3.14±0.20), (3.12±0.18), (3.13±0.16) μmol/g,P < 0.01].CONCLUSION: With the formation and aggravation of nonalcoholic fatty liver, levels of triacylglycerol, FFA and ALT in serum and content of MDA in liver tissues increase, and the expression of UCP-2 also increase. It is indicated that high fat diet can induce expression of hepatocyte UCP-2,decrease of ATP progression in cells and accelerate the formation and development of fatty liver.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2012;18(11):1069-1070
Objective To investigate the risk factors for leukoaraiosis. Methods 204 cases of inpatients were registered. The severity of leukoaraiosis was as the dependent variable, the possible risk factors were as independent variables, unconditional logistic regression was analyzed with SAS 9.2 software, significant level α=0.10. Results 5 factors, that were carotid stenosis, age, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and apolipoprotein A, were included, in which the former 4 were risk factors (OR>1, P<0.05), the latter was protection factor (OR=0.715, P=0.0993). Conclusion The vascular risk factors contribute to formation of leukoaraiosis, and carotid stenosis relate to leukoaraiosis.

OBJECTIVE To detect the changes in young children, with diarrhea including rotavirus A antigens in stool specimens, serum myocardial enzymes,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and alteration of intestinal flora.METHODS Rotavirus A antigens in stool specimens were detected by immunologic colloidal gold, serum myocardial enzymes were measured by full automatic analyzer,hs-CRP level of serum specimens was measured by gold labeled test, and alteration of intestinal flora was also analyzed. The same method was also applied in control group.RESULTS Among 234 diarrhear cases of young children,124 cases with positive rotavirus A antigens appeared the high level of serum myocardial enzyme and hs-CRP compared with the control group.Candida albicans from stool specimens was detected in 45 cases with positive rotavirus A.CONCLUSIONS The results indicate that rotavirus A can cause gastrointestinal tract infection in young children, lead in alteration of intestinal flora, damage myocardium and lead to high level of hs-CRP.All these laboratory results are significant for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Microbiology 2001;(1):29-31
In this paper, the lethal effect on Rhizopus, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium by ozone was studied. The mortality rate against the time of the treatment of ozone and the variation of ozone concentration was measured. The changes of cell form were also observed. The Experiment results indicate that fungi could be destroyed completely by ozone and the mortality rate obviously increase with the prolonging of treatment time. When ozone was absorbed by KI,the mortality rate declines.
