1.Progress in stem cell transplantation in treatment of multiple myeloma
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(9):706-709
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a largely incurable B-cell hematologic malignancy. Although some patients treated with traditional therapies, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, can enter a remission, the disease remains incurable. One of the biggest improvements in the treatment of MM is the use of high-dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplantation, which have resulted in an improved remission rate, diseasefree survival and overall survival.

Chinese Journal of Urology 2000;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the effect of electrovaporization on prostatic tissue structure in vivo. Methods 26 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia underwent electrovaporization of prostatic tissue, the surface area of the vaporized prostatic tissue and the depth at the central area being observed with light microscope and electron microscope. Results The vaporizing effect on tissue with pure cut current were stronger than that with pure coagulative current, the greater the output power the stronger the vaporizing effect.6 millimeter under the vaporized surface caused by pure coagulative current still revealed some histological alterations of injury, while these histological alterations in pure cut current electrovaporization was less. Conclusions These findings may have implications that in transurethral electrovaporization of prostate, injury to the adjacent or deep tissues should be avoided as much as possible.

Objective To discuss the relationship between leptin level and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in adolescent patients with polycystic ovary syndrome, and to explore the classification diagnosis method of adolescent PCOS and indicator for clinical monitoring of obese patients. Methods All enrolled adolescent individuals were assigned into four groups: 30 normal adolescent individuals in the control group, 30 simple adolescent obese individuals in the simple obesity group,27 obese adolescent PCOS patients in the obese PCOS group and 14 nonobese adolescent PCOS patients in the nonobese PCOS group. The fasting serum samples were prepared for leptin level measurement and analysis, Results The serum leptin level of in the control group, the simple obesity group, the obese PCOS group and the nonobese PCOS group were ( 19.44 ± 6. 63 ) μg/L vs.(23.09 ±7. 39) μg/L, (42. 99 ±9. 83) μg/L and (31, 92 ±7, 02) μg/L,respectively. Leptin in the obese PCOS group was significantly higher than that in the control group and the simple obese group (t = 2. 903 and 2. 714 respectively,Ps < 0. 05 ). Conclusion Monitoring the serum level of leptin can not only aid the classification of adolescent PCOS patients and guide the treatment, but also can serve as a indicator for therapeutic monitoring of obese adolescent PCOS.

Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth (PTG) in breast cancer patients and identify the influence of cognitive appraisal on PTG and the relationship between PTG and cognitive appraisal. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted. Totally 356 breast cancer patients were investigated with the revised Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), the Cognitive Appraisal Scale. Results The average score of PTG in breast cancer patients was (55.06±14.36) points. There were significant differences between different education level and health-care payment patients in the total score of PTG (t=5.886, 5.154, P<0.01). The level of PTG was correlated with the patients′ cognitive appraisal way. It was negatively correlated with uncertain appraisal about disease and threat appraisal, and positively correlated with positive appraisal and responsible appraisal. The main prediction factors for PTG were positive appraisal, uncertain appraisal about disease, responsible appraisal, health-care payment and education level. All the variables could explain 42.7% variance of PTG. Conclusions Breast cancer patients in this study report moderate level of posttraumatic growth. The level of PTG in breast cancers is influenced by variables of patients′ education level, health-care payment and cognitive appraisal. Cognitive appraisal could predict the development of PTG significantly.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
Cardio-protective action of synthetic peptide 6A, fibrinogen degradation segment, was observed on the myocardial injury model produced by subcutaneous injection of iso-proterenol (30 mg?kg-1-d-1) into rat. Treatment with peptide 6A (50 ?mol?kg-1? d-1,iv) significantly ameliorated isoproterenol-induced myocardial lesion, inhibited release of myocardial creatine phosphokinase, ?-hydroxybutyratedehydrogenase, lactate dehydrogenase and gluta-mate-oxaloacetate transaminase, lowered plasma fibrinogen content, and markedly prevented myocardial calcium accumulation. The results suggest that peptide 6A could have potential significance for clinical therapy of ischemia heart diseases.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(01):-
The results of this study showed that no deficiency of the spleen or kidney were seen in the normal control group animal. About 1/3 of the anemic -rat control group revealed, earlier or later, spleen deficiency, without kidney deficiency. For the group of rats with iron deficiency, deficiency of the kidney appeared after 17 days, with many rats suffered from spleen deficiency, in which 43 % of the animals changed from deficiency of the spleen to deficiency of both spleen -kidney or kidney deficiency alone. The difference between the iron -deficiency group and animic control group of spleen deficiency was that the serum iron was markedly lower in the former group, whereas the serum iron in the deficiency of both the kidney and spleen - kidney rats was even lower than the spleen deficiency group. When deficiency of the kidney was induced by iron deficiency, the abnormality in the membranous protein of RBC is even more serious. Conclusion: Iron might be one of the crucial biochemical basis of the relations between the kidney and spleen.
