1.Progress in stem cell transplantation in treatment of multiple myeloma
Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(9):706-709
Multiple myeloma (MM) is a largely incurable B-cell hematologic malignancy. Although some patients treated with traditional therapies, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, can enter a remission, the disease remains incurable. One of the biggest improvements in the treatment of MM is the use of high-dose chemotherapy followed by stem cell transplantation, which have resulted in an improved remission rate, diseasefree survival and overall survival.

International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;39(1):13-16
Objective To evaluated the effect of Total Glucosides of Paeony (TGP)combined with urokinase for the patients with acute cerebral ischemic stroke.MethodsA total of 152 patients with ACIS were divided into the control group (77 patients) and the observation group (75 patients) by completely randomized grouping method. Patients in the control group were treated with Urokinase by intravenous, and the observation group were treated with TGP combined with Urokinase. All patients were treated with thrombolysis treatment with in the 24 h after the exclusion of cerebral hemorrhage by brain CT and coagulation mechanism disorder. In the following 14 days, they were given the treatment of anti platelet aggregation, lowering blood lipid, trophic nerve and improving circulation. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS), the modified Rankin scale(mRS) and the daily life ability index(Barthel) were measured.ResultsThere were 28 (37.3%) patients with the NIHSS scores decreasing 4 points in observation group and 12 (15.6%) in control group after treatment of 7 days, and there was significant difference between two groups (χ2=8.181,P=0.004). There were 68 (90.7%) patients with mRS score less than 4 points in observation group and 51 (15.6%) in control group after treatment of 14 days, and there was significant difference between two groups (χ2=11.945,P=0.001). The NIHSS scores in the observation group was lower than control group (8.3 ± 2.2vs. 9.9 ± 2.5;t=4.192,P<0.05). The mRS score in the observation group was lower than control group (2.3 ± 0.9vs. 2.9 ± 1.1;t=3.684,P<0.01), and the Barthel index in the observation group was higher than the control group (88.7 ± 16.2vs. 77.5 ± 15.2;t=4.401,P<0.01). ConclusionsThe TGP capsules combined with Urokinase intravenous thrombolysis could improve the neurological deficit, and the ability of daily life of ACIS patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of electrovaporization on prostatic tissue structure in vivo. Methods 26 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia underwent electrovaporization of prostatic tissue, the surface area of the vaporized prostatic tissue and the depth at the central area being observed with light microscope and electron microscope. Results The vaporizing effect on tissue with pure cut current were stronger than that with pure coagulative current, the greater the output power the stronger the vaporizing effect.6 millimeter under the vaporized surface caused by pure coagulative current still revealed some histological alterations of injury, while these histological alterations in pure cut current electrovaporization was less. Conclusions These findings may have implications that in transurethral electrovaporization of prostate, injury to the adjacent or deep tissues should be avoided as much as possible.

Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth (PTG) in breast cancer patients and identify the influence of cognitive appraisal on PTG and the relationship between PTG and cognitive appraisal. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted. Totally 356 breast cancer patients were investigated with the revised Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI), the Cognitive Appraisal Scale. Results The average score of PTG in breast cancer patients was (55.06±14.36) points. There were significant differences between different education level and health-care payment patients in the total score of PTG (t=5.886, 5.154, P<0.01). The level of PTG was correlated with the patients′ cognitive appraisal way. It was negatively correlated with uncertain appraisal about disease and threat appraisal, and positively correlated with positive appraisal and responsible appraisal. The main prediction factors for PTG were positive appraisal, uncertain appraisal about disease, responsible appraisal, health-care payment and education level. All the variables could explain 42.7% variance of PTG. Conclusions Breast cancer patients in this study report moderate level of posttraumatic growth. The level of PTG in breast cancers is influenced by variables of patients′ education level, health-care payment and cognitive appraisal. Cognitive appraisal could predict the development of PTG significantly.
