ObjectiveTo investigate the characteristics of personality in patients with depression. Methods24 patients with depression and 24 normal controls were measured with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) software. ResultsCompared with the control, patient with depression showed significantly difference in neuroticism, extraversionn-introversion, anxiety, repression, manifest anxiety scale, ego strength, dependency, dominance (P<0.05). the T score of N and repression is higher than the Chinese usual score. ConclusionThe depression patients show their personality as repression, inferiority, melancholy, anxiety, bad tolerance, overstrung and dependent.

Objective To study the personality characteristics of the stagnation of liver-qi syndrome cases with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI).Methods 20 liver-qi stagnation syndrome cases and 20 normal persons whose paired by sex and age were tested by MMPI. The scores of 13 clinical scales and the section plane of MMPI were acquired and analyzed. Results There was a significant difference in 9 clinical scales (F, Pa, D, Pt, Si, Sc, Hs, Hy, Pd) between the liver-qi stagnation syndrome cases and normal persons ( P<0.05~0.001). The scores of Hs, D, Hy, Pd in the liver-qi stagnation syndrome group were higher than the Chinese normal model. The MMPI section plane of liver-qi stagnation group presented the type of 3/1. Conclusion The patients with liver-qi stagnation have some special personality characteristics such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, indifferent and attention.

ObjectiveTo investigate the analgesic effect of TL-Ⅰ prescription.MethodsHealth ICR mouses were randomly divided into 6 groups: negative control group, positive control group, Tongtian group, large doses group, middle doses group and small doses group. The pain threshold of mouses were detected with hot plate and acetic acid writhing.ResultsTL-Ⅰ prescription can raise the threshold of pain induced by hot plate and reduce the numbers of writhing induced by acetic acid in mice, which was more significant in large doses group. ConclusionTL-Ⅰ prescription can be an effective analgesic.

ObjectiveTo investigate the sedative effect of TL-Ⅰ prescription.Methods72 healthy ICR mice were randomly divided into 6 groups: normal group, model group, positive control group, large doses Chinese materia medica group, middle doses Chinese materia medica group and small doses Chinese materia medica group. The active behavior of migraine-model-mouse was detected with tail suspension test and the analytical system of animal behavior-spontaneous movement.ResultsTL-Ⅰ prescription could prolong the quiescent time of migraine-model-mouse and shorten the active journey and time in the autonomic active box of migraine-model-mouse.ConclusionTL-Ⅰ prescription has sedative effect.

Objective To explore the characteristics of patients with stagnation of liver-qi syndrome using brain functional imaging techniques.Methods10 patients with stagnation of liver-qi syndrome and 20 normal persons whom paired by sex and age were scanned with positron emission tomography(PET).Data analysis was carried out using SPM in MATLAB software.ResultsCompared with normal, some cerebral areas of the patients with stagnation of liver-qi syndrome showed glucose metabolism letdown(P<0.001),including right parietal lobe(postcentral gyrus,BA1/2),temporal lobe(middle temporal gyrus,BA37),frontal lobe(middle frontal gyrus,BA9/10)etc.,while some cerebral areas showed glucose metabolism heighten(P<0.001)including right frontal lobe(superior frontal gyrus, inferior fontal gyrus,BA22/28/44),right cingulated gyrus, double midbrain and cerebella, etc.ConclusionThe function of some cerebral areas can be changed undergoing stagnation of liver-qi syndrome.

OBJECTIVETo study the risk classification of animal plague in Spermophilus Dauricus Focus, using the Best Subsets Regression (BSR) model.
METHODSMatlab, BSR and exponential smoothing were employed to develop and evaluate a model for risk classification as well as to forecast plague epidemics at the Spermophilus Dauricus Focus. Data was based upon the Inner Mongolia surveillance programs. This model involved 7 risk factors, including density of Spermophilus dauricus, percentage of hosts infested, host flea index, percentage of nests infested, nest flea index, percentage of runways infested, and runway flea index.
RESULTSForecasting values of the classification model(CM)were calculated and grouped into 3 risk levels. Values that over 2/3 of the CM would indicate the existence of potential epidemics while those below 1/3 would indicate that there were no risk for epidemics but when values that were in between would indicate that there exist for high risk. Annually, during the observation period in the Inner Mongolia Spermophilus Dauricus Foci, the detection of Yersinia pestis gave a risk rating value of 1 which stood for existing epidemics, while nil detection rate generated a 'zero' value which representing the situation of non-epidemic. The overall plague epidemics forecasting surveillance programs in 2012 at the Spermophilus Dauricus Foci indicated that no active plague was observed. When the forecasting values became over 2/3, combinations of all the risk factors would achieve the consistency rates of 100%. When the forecasting values were below 1/3, combinations of at least the first 4 factors could also achieve the consistency rates of 100%. However, when the forecasting values fell in between, combinations of at least the first 4 factors would achieve the consistency rates of around 50%.
CONCLUSIONResults from our study showed that plague would not be active to become epidemic, in 2012.

Objective To investigate the changes of non-linear dynamics characteristics of electroencephalogram(EEG) in patients with the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome. Methods 15 Liver-Qi stagnation syndrome patients and 15 normal persons were paired by sex and age.The data of EEG under three states(eyes closed, eyes opened, and mental arithmetic with eyes opened) were analyzed by the parameter of point-wise correlation dimension(PD2).Results PD2 of the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome group increased significantly compared with that of the healthy control group and always maintain high level. The difference of PD2 between two groups was gradually reduced along with the increase of stimulated condition. Conclusion Non-linear dynamic analysis is more appropriate for the study of mental functions changes of stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome and can be used to investigate the brain mechanism of the stagnation of Liver-Qi syndrome.
