Objective To investigate the self-management self-efficacy,health-related quality of life of hemodialysis patients and explore the relationship between them. Methods Self-management self-efficacy questionnaire and SF-36 were used,and 55 hemodialysis patients participated in this study. Pearson correlate and regression analysis were used to test the relationship between them. Results 55 questionnaires were available. Positively associated between self-management self-efficacy and HRQOL(r=0.268,P＜0.05);significantly positively associated between physical activity self-efficacy and HRQOL(r=0.409,P＜0.01). Regression analysis showed that physical activity self-efficacy is the factor of HRQOL (t=3.261,P＜0.01).Conclusion Physical activity self-efficacy is the factor of HRQOL in hemodialysis patients,increasing self-management self-efficacy is benefit to their HRQOL.

OBJECTIVE: To prepare doxycycline hydrochloride microspheres and to establish a method for its quality control.METHODS: O/O emulsion solvent evaporation method was adopted to prepare doxycycline hydrochloride microspheres with poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) as carrier.Light microscope was used to detect appearance and particle size of microspheres and UV spectrophotometry was applied to determine the loading rate and release rate of drug in vitro.RESULTS: Prepared microspheres are smooth and round with mean particle size of (49?6.9) ?m and span of 0.9.Average drug loading rate was (3.3?0.2) % and encapsulation efficiency was (52.4?3.2) % (n=3).Accumulative drug release reached 28% within 0.5 h with constant drug release lasting more than 30 days.CONCLUSION: Doxycycline hydrochloride microspheres preparation process is available and controllable in quality.

Objective To develop a Chinese version questionnaire of psychosocial adaptation for breast cancer patients with good reliability and validity.Methods The preliminary questionnaire was formed by extensive literature review,semi-structured interview for 10 breast cancer patients and consultation for 4 experts.In order to analyze items and test reliability and validity,228 postoperative breast cancer patients were selected.Results Psychosocial adaptation questionnaire included 44 items and 5 dimensions.It had good content validity and construct validity.With the method of principle components analysis,and five factors were extracted,the cumulative contribution rate was 54.578％,loading for most factors was over 0.4.The result indicated that the structure of the questionnaire was similar to the theory construction.The criterion-related validity with self-rating anxiety scale,the general self-efficacy scale,and self-acceptance questionnaire was-0.757、0.505、0.691.Cronbach's α coefficient of the overall questionnaire was 0.945,retest correlation coefficient was 0.961.Conclusions The developed questionnaire showed good reliability and validity.It can objectively and effectively evaluate psychosocial adaptation of breast cancer patients,so it has practicality and popularization value.

BACKGROUND:Most end-stage renal failure patients must undergo hemodialysis before and after kidney transplantation.Noncompliance is common in patients who undergo hemodialysis,and it correlated with mortality.The improvement in self-management behavior is beneficial to the improvement of survival rate and quailty of life of hemodialysis patients.OBJECTIVE:To investigate and analyze the effect of nursing intervention on self-management behavior and health-related quality of life in hemodialysis patients before and after kidney transplantation.DESIGN:A randomized and controlled analysis.SETTING:Department of Nursing and Hemodialysis Center,First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University.PARTICIPANTS:Forty-eight renal failure patients who underwent hemodialysis in the Hemodialysis Center,First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University between February and April 2006 were recruited in this study.The involved patients.including 29 males and 19 females,aged 22-77 years,able to read and write the questionnaires,voluntarily participated in this study.Written informed consents of treatments and investigation items were obtained from each patient.The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the hospital.The involved patients were randomly assigned into 2 groups with 24 patients in each:intervention group and control group.METHODS:Patients in the intervention group were given 6 months of nursing(i.e.according to actual conditions,each patient was given health education by handing out health promoting stuffs,giving individual or centralized guidance as well as other modalities).Patients in the control group were given routine health education.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Self-management behavior and health-related quality of life were assessed before,3 and 6 months after nursing intervention using self-management behavior questionnaire and short-form 36 health survey.RESULTS:Forty-eight patients who underwent hemodialysis participated in the final analysis.There were no significant differences in the total scores of self-management behavior questionnaire and short-form 36 health survey between intervention group and control group before and 3 months after nursing intervention(P＞0.05).Significant difference in the total scores of self-management behavior questionnaire and short-form 36 health survey existed in each group 6 months after nursing intervention in comparison with baseline(P＜0.01,0.05).The total scores of self-management behavior questionnaire of intervention group were significantly increased 6 months after nursing intervention in comparison with the baseline (P＜0.01).CONCLUSION:Nursing intervention markedly improve the self-management behavior and quailty of life of patients who undergo hemodialysis before and after kidney transplantation.

Objective To investigate the effect of psychological intervention and distraction therapy on pain of children undergoing venepuneture. Methods 200 children who underwent venepuncture were divided into group A(psychological intervention,100 cases)and group B(audiovisual distraction,100 cases).Children in group A were treated with psychological intervention such as praising, inspiring and hint, etc. Children in group B were provided with their favorite DVDs and made them to watch them during the puncture procedure. The compliance, success rate of venepuncture and grade of VAS(visual analogue scale)were scaled and analyzed. Results The compliance and Success rate of venepuncture in group A were not statistically different from those in group B(P＞0.05).The compliance was positively correlated with Success rate of venepuncture in both groups(r=0.34,P＜0.01).The scale of VAS showed no difference between group A and group B(t=0.52,P＞0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention and audiovisual distraction could alleviate pain of children undergoing venepuncture.

Objective To understand the development of psychosocial adaptation and life quality of patients with visual impairment, as well as their relationship. Methods Researches about impact of psychosocial adaptation on life quality of patients with visual impairment underwent document retrieval and the results went through analysis. Results Cataract, glaucoma, retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration caused different degree of visual impairment, furthermore influence physical, psychosocial adaptation and life quality of these patients. Some scales were compiled by some scholars at home and abroad to evaluate the influence degree of these factors, but tools to test psychosocial adaptation lacked. Conclusions Researches on quality of life for a single eye impairment are more than those on the relationship between psychosocial adaptation and quality of life. At the same time, it is necessary to develop a tool to measure psychosocial adaptation of visual function impairment.

Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of improved incision septoplasty in treatment of allergic rhinitis and its effect on the life quality of patients.Methods A total of 42 patients with persistent allergic rhinitis and merge nasal septum in our hospital from July 2013 to April 2015 were divided into observation group and control group.The observation group were treated by improved incision septoplas-ty,and the control group received traditional KillIan incision treatment.The clinical efficacy,survival quality and visual analog scale between two groups were compared.Results After treatment,The total efficiency rate of observation group(94.24%)was significantly higher than that of control group(85.71%)(χ2 =7.15,P <0.05).The nasal congestion,nasal itching,sneezing and other symptoms score of observa-tion group were significantly lower than those of control group(P <0.05).The score of nasal problems,eye problems,eye problems and non-nasal sleep disorders in observation group were also significantly lower than those in control group(P <0.05).Intraoperative situation of ob-servation group was significantly better than that of control group(P <0.05).Conclusion Improved incision septoplasty has a good clinical efficacy for patients with persistent allergic rhinitis and merge nasal septum,which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and life quality of patients.

In the treatment of cervical vertigo, acupuncture acts to dilate blood vessels,diminish vessel resistance and increase blood flow, hence to improve micro-circulation and oxygen supply to the brain.

BACKGROUND: It has been shown that patients managed with hemodialysis experience decrease of quality of life. But there are a few reports about the relationship between the self-management behavior such as dietary behavior, taking medicine, management behavior of physical sign etc and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in hemodialysis patients.OBJECTIVE: To study the relationship between self-management behavior and HRQOL in Chinese hemodialysis patients,especially potential association of self-management behavior variables with indicators of HRQOL in order to improve their quality of life (QOL).DESIGN: Sampling investigation based on hemodialysis patients.SETTING: Nursing department and dialysis center in a university hospital. PARTICIPANTS: This research was completed in the Nursing Department of First Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University. Totally 120hemodialysis patients,63 males and 57 females,aged 19 -79 years old with the mean age of(52 ± 12),were selected from the First and Second Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University,the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University,the Central and the Second Hospital of Shenyang Medical College,from July to September 2003. Inclusion criteria: Patients above 18years old,dialysis history more than 3 months with twice or three times every week,understanding the questionnaires and being volunteers. Exclusion criteria: Patients with acute disease and mental disorder.METHODS: Self-administered questionnaire was used to measure self-management behavior and short-form 36 health survey(SF-36) was used to measure HRQOL of patients with hemodialysis. Correlation and multivariate regression analysis were used to test the relationship between self-management behavior and HRQOL.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Self-management behavior and HRQOL.RESULTS: Totally 107 questionnaires were available. Multivariate regression analysis indicated that management of physical,psychosocial activity was the significant factor of.physical component summary(regression coefficient = 2.709,R2 =0. 150,P<0.01),and management of physical sign,psychosocial behavior was the significant factor of mental component summary(regressioncoefficient=1.126,R2=0.041,P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Improving hemodialysis patients' management of physical,psychosocial activity and management of physical sign could help hemodialysis patients to raise their HRQOL.

The definition of visual impairment, the current status of visual impairment in the elderly, influencing factors related with visual impairment and management control modes are reviewed.There are three international standards of visual impairment including the WHO standard in 1972, the United States standard, and the WHO standard in 2003. The domestic standard is consistent with the WHO standard in 1972. Currently, with the global aging, the international and the Chinese situations of visual impairment are severe,and it is urgent to reduce the incidence of visual impairment. The visual impairment of the elderly is affected by various factors. A variety of management and control modes of visual impairment for the elderly have begun to bear fruit. The aim of the review is to provide the basis to screen for high-risk groups of visual impairment and provide timely intervention to reduce the prevalence of visual impairment in the older population.
