Objective To investigate the therapeutic role of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) on neonatal hearing impairment induced by hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE),by observing the brain stem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) changes of newborn infants with HIE.Methods One hundred and six cases of HIE in newborn infants(in which 82 cases were mild and 24 cases were severe) treated with HBO and conventional therapy were chosen as HBO treatment group,while other 42 cases of HIE in newborn infants(in which 38 cases were mild and 4 cases were severe) treated with conventional therapy only were served as control group.BAEP was measured at the 3rd to 7th day on patients before treatment and 42 days after birth with or without HBO therapy respectively,and the differences of BAEP changes were compared between the both groups.Results 1.In control group,the rate of abnormality was 47.4% and 31.6%,respectively before and after therapy in mild HIE cases(P=0.240),and 75.0%,50.0% in the moderate-severe HIE cases(P=0.462).2.In HBO group,the abnormal rate was 45.1% and 25.6%,respectively in mild HIE cases before and after therapy,while 75.0% and 41.7% in moderate-severe HIE cases(Pa=0.014,0.039).3.There was obvious difference between control group and HBO group in mild HIE cases(P=0.013),while there was no significant change between the 2 groups in moderate-severe HIE cases(P=0.717).Conclusions Treatment with HBO combined with conventional therapy may improve the abnormal rate of BAEP in patients with HIE according to the present test,especially in mild HIE cases,thus earlier HBO therapy may be used to mitigate hearing impairment and improve prognosis induced by the disease.

Objective To study the difference and significance of serum Cytokine(IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α)of the young adult with excessive drinking.Methods using ELISA technology to measure difference of serum cytokine of thirty young adults with excessive drinking and twenty young adults with no excessive drinking,and dealing with the above data by spss11.0.Results data of serum cytokine(IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α)are respectively 0.307±0.144 mg/L,3.207±1.477mg/L,0.321±0.105mg/L,and data of serum Cytokine of twenty young adults with no excessive drinking are respectively 0.205±0.121 mg/L,2.323±0.756 mg/L,0.246±0.099mg/L,serum cytokine level of the young adults with excessive drinking is different from serum cytokine level of the young adults with no excessive drinking(P<0.05).Conclusion serum cytokine level of the young adults with excessive drinking is higher than serum cytokine level of the young adults with no excessive drinking.

AIM To study the mechanism of effects about total flavones of choeropondias axillaris(TFC) to heart. METHODS The effects of TFC on contractility were investigated through acting on the guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles. RESULTS ① TFC decreased both the contractility and contraction rate of papillary muscles. ②The quantity effect curve of CaCl 2 was shifted to right after giving TFC. ③TFC 30.4 ?mol?L -1 prolonged remarkably the functional refractory period (FRP) of guinea pig right ventricle papillary muscles, but exerted no effect on excitability. CONCLUSION TFC can inhibit the Ca 2+ influx into cell in a concentration dependent manner.

A highly phytase-producing strain B.licheniformis LL8 was obtained by several mutagenesis of UV with B.licheniformis as starting strain.The new strain produced about two folds of phytase activity as compared with the starting strain. The production performance of the strain was stable. The cultivation conditions were optimized by single factor and orthogonal experiment. When the mutant B.licheniformis LL8 was cultivated at 55℃, initial pH 7.5 with the inoculation size of 10% for 30h in WBE medUm, the phytase activity was up to 2268.4U/mL.

Objective To explore the effects of restraint water-immersion stress (RWIS) on the firing activities of pyramidal neurons in the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) of rats.Methods Multi-channel in vivo recording techniques were used to record firing activities of pyramidal neurons before and during 4-h RWIS in rats.Firing rates,inter-spike intervals and burst firing rates were taken as indices to study the influence of RWIS on neuronal firing activities.Results Twenty-five pyramidal neurons of 12 rats were recorded.The opposite patterns of firing activities were observed in two different classes of neurons,type A and type B neurons which account for 72％ and 28％,respectively.In type A neurons,inhibited firing activities were in direct proportion to the stress-exposure.Mean firing rates and mean burst firing rates were significantly reduced to (0.81 ± 0.11) Hz and (1.012 ± 0.50) counts/min after 4h constant RWIS compared with those before RWIS,(3.57 ± 0.63) Hz and (10.29 ± 3.04) counts/min.However,in type B neurons,firing activities were enhanced.After 2h constant RWIS,mean firing rates and mean burst firing rates were increased from (1.77±0.45) Hz and (2.01±0.73) counts/min to (2.67±0.74)Hz and (9.04±2.42) counts/min,respectively.Moreover,the percentage of spikes in bursts was significantly increased and mean inter-spike intervals were remarkably shortened.Interestingly,the effect of RWIS on type B neurons lasted for shorter time compared with its effect on type A neurons.Conclusion RWIS differentially affects the firing activity of pyramidal neuron in the MPFC,i.e.,inhibiting the firing activity of type A neurons,but enhancing the firing activity of type B neurons.

Objective To investigate the effect of neonatal mechanical ventilation on lung function and recurrent respiratory diseases of patients.Methods Lung function and recurrent respiratory diseases were studied in 16 children who had been ventilated at birth and were followed up in 8 years later.Results Fifty percentage of them had recurrent respiratory diseases and 75 % of had lung function abnormalities, in which residual volume/ total lung capacity (RV/ TLC) was 56.25 %,43.7 % (Vmax 25),specific airway resistance (sRaw) and specific airway conductance (sGaw) 50 % respectively. Objective To investigate the neuropsychological and functional neuroimaging features in patients with cerebellar infarction (CI).Methods We analyzed 59 CI patients (27 left CI,32 right CI) and 26 healthy control subjects who received standard and experimental cognitive testing and neuroimaging study.We compared the cognitive manifestations between the groups with Student' s t test.Results Patients with CI(left/right) achieved significantly lower scores in auditory verbal learning test (AVLT) of memory test (12.27 ± 1.37 vs 9.33 ± 1.90/10.25 ±2.20,t =6.46,4.26,P ＜0.05),Associative Learning of Clinical Memory Scale (22.77 ± 3.07 vs 18.67 ± 1.98/16.84 ± 3.55,t =5.74,6.69,P ＜ 0.05),symbol digit modalities test (SDMT) of visuospatial test(42.54 ±6.32 vs 20.85 ±9.57/34.84 ± 16.10,t =9.68,2.47,P ＜ 0.05),and errors responses (RE) of Wisconsin card sorting test for executive function (16.77 ± 2.64vs 52.22 ± 16.29/54.47 ± 16.27,t =11.15,12.89,P ＜ 0.05).Patients with left CI had significantly lower scores in correct responses percentage (RCP; 58.71 ± 10.93 vs 78.43 ± 5.26,t =-8.41,P ＜ 0.05)and significantly higher scores in the trials to compete first category (RF; 23.59 ± 9.79 vs 14.12 ± 3.75,t =4.68,P ＜ 0.05).Those finding suggests left CI would cause impairment on abstract conceptualization and concept formation; The patients with right CI had significantly lower scores in total memory quotient (86.69 ± 7.56 vs 112.02 ± 9.70,t =-11.17,P ＜ 0.05),higher scores in perseverative responses (RP ;44.59 ± 17.50 vs 8.23 ± 3.46,t =11.47,P ＜ 0.05) and nonperseverative responses errors percentage (nRPE; 44.00 ±20.67 vs 10.58 ± 2.35,t =9.07,P ＜ 0.05).It means right CI would cause serious deficits on memory,cognitive shift and attention.The fibers between cerebellum and frontal,parietal lobe were reduced in CI patients,compared with healthy control.Conclusions These results suggest that cerebellum participated in the formation of part of cognitive function by connection with cerebrum.After CI,that the fibers contacted with the prefrontal and parietal reduced is the possible mechanisms for cognitive impairment.
