Astragalus adsurgens seed is one of the most common adulterants of Astragali Complanati Semen in the market, whose morphological characteristics are very similar with A. complanatus seeds (Astragali Complanati Semen). Many identification methods have been reported, such as morphological identification, fluorescence method, ultraviolet spectrophotometry, TLC, HPLC, protein electrophoresis and so on, but there's no much about microscopic identification. In the present study, the morphological characteristics and microscopic characteristics of these two seeds were investigated, which could provide scientific evidence for the identification and classification of Astragali Complanati Semen. Our results showed that these two seeds were slightly different in the color and the appearance, but significantly different in the microstructure of the seed coat and the hilum, and the distribution of fat droplets in the cotyledon cells. So these microscopic characteristics can be applied for the identification of Astragali Complanati Semen.

Objective To investigate the influence of factors related to metabolic syndrome(MS)on the outcome in subjects without diabetes mellitus in a community. Methods A two-year follow-up study was conducted in 885 subjects who were enrolled in the epidemiologic survey carried out in Pingliang Community, Shanghai in 2002.Oral glucose tolerance test, lipid prefde, blood pressure(BP),body mass index(BMI),waist and hip circumferences were measured. Results (1)The baseline of BMI,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2h plasma glucose after glucose loading(2hPG),BP,triglyceride(TG)in the subjects with impaired glucose regulation(IGR)increased significantly as compared to those with normal glucose regulation(NGR)(all P

5.Effect of different elimination way on the senile cerebral hemorrhage patients with constipation
Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2012;18(18):2204-2205
Objective To explore the effect of different elimination way on senile cerebral hemorrhage patients with constipation. Methods Totals of 90 senile cerebral hemorrhage patients with constipation were randomly divided into experimental group which received the position-changing slow insertation (PCSI) and control group which received conventional method. Results The first clyster efficient was 91.11% (41cases)and 71.11% (32cases) respectively in experimental group and control group, and the difference was statistically significant ( x2 =5.87,P < 0.05 ).Clysis fluid overflow of experimental group was 15.6% significantly lower than that of the control group that was 55.6% ( x2 =15.71,P < 0.05 ),and the adverse effects rate of experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions The effect of the new clyster method is better that of the traditional method, which can reduce the pain of elderly patients, decrease the damage of constipation and promote patients' rehabilitation.

Objective To investigate anxiety status among caregivers of stroke patients and analyze it's related factors. Methods 98 caregivers of stroke patients were surveyed by the general questionnaire and SelfRating Anxiety Scale (SAS).Results The anxiety scores of caregivers of stroke patients were significant higher than that in Chinese norm.Stroke patients with physical dysfunction, cognitive impairment and caregiver gender, educational level, daily care of the time, family income were significantly associated with anxiety of the caregivers. Conclusions Support information from various channels should be established and more emotional and spiritual assistances should be provided to the caregivers.

Objective To study the related factors of tumble among senile cerebrovascular diseases patients,so as to effectively prevent it happening. Methods A total of 102 senile cerebrovascular diseases patients with the history of tumble within 12 months were investigated with self-designed questionnaire. Results The incidence of tumble among male patients was 42.16%,while female patients was6.86% ;living alone patients was 37.25%,while cohabit patients was 16.67% ;balance ability abnormal patients was 38.24%,while that normal patients was 22.55%.There was significantly difference between them(x2 =4.95,8.45,5.13 ;P <0.05 or P < 0.01).The tumble incidence among patients with different ages, medicine or not, nocturnal enuresis condition, eyesight, intelligence and different chronic diseases was significantly difference(P <0.05 or P <0.01).Conclusions The incidence of tumble among senile cerebrovascular diseases patients are related to many factors,so it is important to assessment their health condition and establish effective preventive measures to reduce the ratio of tumble.

OBJECTIVESTo review degenerative lumbar disease treated with Wallis and the re-herniation cases after the implantation of Wallis, so as to evaluate the effect of the device.
METHODSFrom January 2009 to June 2010, a retrospective analysis was done and 48 patients (30 males and 18 females) with an average age of 43 years (ranging from 17 to 69 years), who received stabilization of the segment using the Wallis device, were reviewed. The involved segments included: 4 cases at L(3-4), 38 cases at L(4-5), 6 cases at L(5)-S(1). Preoperative and postoperative visual analogue scales (VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were recorded to evaluate the clinical efficiency, imageology diversity was assessed by X-rays and MRI.
RESULTSAll cases received fenestration and the implantation of Wallis. No surgery related complications were recorded. There were 48 cases were followed up. The average follow-up period was (20 ± 4) months (12 - 30 months). The average ODI score dropped from 46 ± 10 to 24 ± 7 (t = 12.765, P < 0.05). The average VAS for back and leg pain dropped from 8.1 ± 1.6 to 2.1 ± 1.1(t = 21.881, P < 0.05). Six patients with recurrent lower back and leg pain were diagnosed by MRI, as recurrent herniation (6/48, 12.5%). All re-herniation occurred at L(4-5) level, between 2 and 13 months after the surgery. Three of the 6 patients underwent additional discectomy and fusion, others received conservative treatment.
CONCLUSIONSAlthough existing problems such as recurrence after surgery, the clinical outcome of Wallis in treating protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc and lumbar stenosis is satisfied in middle-early stage.
