Objective To explore the correlation of rhinovirus infection and the morbidity of asthma in children. Methods The RV gene in nasopharyngeal secretion of 30 children with asthma acute exacerbation(asthma group),30 children in asthma clinical remission(remission group) and 30 healthy children (control group) were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The total serum IgE(T-IgE) was determined by chemiluminescence. The eosinophil(EOS) count (EOS%) of peripheral blood and lung function were also measured. Results The rhinovirus infection rate was 36.67% in asthma group and 3.33% in remission group. No rhinovirus was detected in control group. The rate of rhinovirus infections in asthma group was significantly highter than that in remission group and control group(?2=7.50,13.47 Pa0.05). FEV1% was (62.73?13.54)% in asthma rhinovirus infection and (86.42?17.78)% masthma with no rhinovirus infection. There was remarkable difference between 2 groups(F=14.553 P﹤0.05). The T-IgE was (836.32?44.801) kU/L and EOS% was 10.63?4.09 in asthma group with rhinovirus infection. The total IgE was (439.10?231.28) kU/L and EOS% was 5.04?2.64 in asthma group with no rhinovirus infection. There was significant difference between 2 groups(U=2.475,F=20.806 Pa0.05).Conclusions There is a close correlation between rhinovirus infection and acute attack of asthma(or worsening asthma) in children. Asthma exacerbations would be likely to happened easier because of rhinovirus infection in asthmatic children with high T-IgE.

Objective To evaluate the methods and efficacy of microsurgical treatment for the premalignant and malignant lesions of the conjunctiva. Methods Forty-seven patients witn premalignant and malignant lesions of the conjuncitva were managed by microsurgical, these patients include 12 melanoma, 26 squamous cell carcinoma, 6 Bowen’ diseases, 3 primary acquired melanosis. The surgical method differs with limbal tumors, extralimbal tumors, and primary acquired melanosis. Results In all 47 patients, the tumor was completely removed in in one procedure. After follow-up for 4~60 months(mean 17 months), these were no tumor recurrence. Conclusion It is effective methods that premalignant and malignant lesions of the conjunctiva are managed by microsurgical resection, alcohol application, and supplemental cryotherapy. Careful propeirativa clinical evaluation of patient with a conjunctiva neoplasm is important in making the correct diagnosis and planning the surgical approach.

Objective: To observe the effects of manganese( Ⅲ ) meso-tetrakis (N, N'-diethylimidazolium-2-yl) porphyrin (MnTDM) in treatment of early Parkinson's disease(PD) mouse model induced by subcutaneous injection of 1-methyl-4-phenyl1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine(MPTP) and to discuss its possible mechanism. Methods:Forty male C57BL/6 mice were evenly randomized into 4 groups: MPTP model group(subcutaneous injection of 25 mg/kg MPTP for 3 days), MnTDM+ MPTP group (15 mg/kg MnTDM was subcutaneously injected 1 h before MPTP injection), MnTDM control group, and normal saline group. Performance of animals in the pole and swimming test was observed 3 days after the last injection. Levels of dopamine (DA) and its metabolites(3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid [DOPAC] and homovanillic acid [HVA]) in the striatum of animals were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography with an electrochemical detector(HPLC-ECD). Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) method was used to examine the levels of malondialdehyde(MDA). Results: Acute injection of MPTP could be used for establishment of PD model. The striatal levels of DA, DOPAC and HVA in MPTP group were significantly lower(P<0.01)and the striatal level of MDA was significantly higher(P<0.05) than those of the control group. MPTP had no obvious effect on the behavioral performance of the animals in a short term. MnTDM could partly inhibit the above effects of MPTP. Compared with MPTP group, MnTDM+ MPTP group had significantly higher DA, DOPAC, and HVA levels and significantly lower MDA level(all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the behavioral indices of animals between the 4 groups. Conclusion:MnTDM can inhibit lipid peroxidation and promote DA production; it has preventive and therapeutic effects on MPTP induced PD.

Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of vitamin B12 as the non-invasive biomarker to predict long-term rebleeding rate in cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric varices. Methods:From Dec 1, 2016 to Dec 31, 2017, cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric varices who had been admitted to Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University were enrolled. All these patients received endoscopic treatment to prevent variceal rebleeding. The serum vitamin B12 and folic acid levels were measured in all of them. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, Kaplan-Meier analysis, univariate and multivariate cox regression analysis were conducted to explore the value of vitamin B12 in predicting 3-year variceal rebleeding in cirrhotic patients with esophagogastric varices after endoscopic treatment.Results:115 patients were included. The ROC curve analysis indicated that the optimal cutoff value of vitamin B12 for 3-year variceal rebleeding was 567.25 pg/ml. According to the cut-off value, the patients were divided into high-level vitamin B12 group ( n=49) and low-level vitamin B12 group ( n=66). Compared with the low vitamin B12 group, the high vitamin B12 group had lower albumin level, less male (63.3% vs 80.3%), and higher 3-year rebleeding rate ( P<0.05). Cox analysis showed that vitamin B12 and platelet were independent prognostic factors for 3-year rebleeding in patients with variceal bleeding. Conclusions:Elevated peripheral blood vitamin B12 predicts a higher risk of long-term rebleeding in patients with liver cirrhosis and esophagogastric varices.

OBJECTIVETo explore the association of 8-hydroxyguanine glycosidase OGG1 Ser326Cys polymorphism with semen quality and the risk of male infertility.
METHODSThis case-control study included 620 idiopathic infertile patients and 385 normal fertile controls. We determined their genotypes by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and analyzed their semen quality by computer-aided semen analysis (CASA).
RESULTSThe individuals with OGG1 326 Cys/Cys showed significantly lower sperm motility and concentration ([52.1 +/- 26.7]% and (3.75 +/- 0.91) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) than the Ser/Ser carriers ([59.0 +/- 21.8] % and (4.12 +/- 0.88) x 10(6)/ml, ln transformed value) (P < 0.05). The risk of male infertility increased 69% in the OGG1 326Cys allele carriers as compared with the Ser carriers (OR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.24 -2.31).
CONCLUSIONOGG1 326 Ser/Cys polymorphism might contribute to the risk of male infertility in the southern Chinese population.
