Objective To study the changes and significance of Bid gene expression in hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD) in neonatal rats. Methods The animal models of HIBD were made. Total RNA from ipsilateral cerebral hemisph ere was extracted.RT-PCR was used to evaluate the levels of Bid gene expression at different time points after hypoxic-ischemic. Results The levels of Bid mRNA were higher in HIBD rats than those in normal rats. The ex pression of Bid mRNA in ipsilateral hemiphere following cerebral hypoxic-ischem ic began to increase at 6 h, increased to the highest level at 24 h, and then gr adually returned. Conclusion The upregulation of Bid mRNA can play a role in the induction of apoptosis fol lowing cerebral hypoxic-ischemic. One strain of Pseudoalteromonas sp. E18 was isolated from the sea mud of Ningbo, Zhejiang. It can produce indigo pigment. The morphological, cultural and biochemical characteristics of the bacterium were studied. The indigo pigment was also extracted. The results showed that the maximum absorption peak of the pigment was at 579nm. The pigment was stable to UV, Na_2SO_3,It was also stable at pH 3~9. The pigment was unstable to the sunlight and high concentration H_2O_2. Temperature of 60℃~80℃ could increase the hue while temperature higher than 90℃ could reduce the hue.

Objective To evaluate the correlation between regional blood perfusion, metabolism and angiogenesis in breast cancer. Methods The PET/CT functional imaging technique was applied to quantitatively detect the central and marginal blood perfusion parameters including blood flow(BF),blood volume(BV)and permeability of surface(Ps),and metabolism index of standard uptake value(SUV)of the tumor in 33 breast cancer patients. The expression of CD31.CD105 and VEGF in paraffin section of breast cancer were detected by immunohistochemical method, then MVD(CD31)and MVD(CD105)were obtained. The relationship between the regional blood perfusion and metabolism and MVD(CD3 1),MVD(CD105)and the expression of VEGF were analyzed. Results There was significant correlation of MVD (CD31)with BF of marginal region(P<0.05).There were significant correlations of MVD(CD105)with BF.PS and SUV(P<0.05). Conclusions Regional blood perfusion, metabolism is correlated with angiogenesis in breast cancer tissue.PETT/CT regional blood perfusion and metabolic imaging iS a noninvasive method which can be used to estimate angiogenesis status clinically in breast cancer.

OBJECTIVETo offer evidences for quality control of medicinal plant of Dactylicapnos scandens.
METHODPharmacognostic studies were carried out through field collection, morphological and microscopic characteristics, and TLC.
RESULTObservation and description of the experimentation were made.
CONCLUSIONDactylicapnos scandens can be identified from Genus of Dactylicapnos which has the similar morphological characteristics. The morphological and microscopic characteristics and the results of TLC can be used as evidences for quality control of this medicinal plant.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
In this study, the general bacterial probe and specific cellulolytic bacterial probes were used to quantify the bacteria in rumen. The total RNA were extracted and then hybridized with general bacterial probe after a dilution of concentration. The result showed that there was a high correlation between the hybridization signal and the dilution of total bacterial RNA. Based on the result above, the quantities of three cellulolytic bacteria in rumen sample were detected. The comparative RNA percentage of three cellulolytic bacteria to total bacterial RNA were similar to the previous reports. It can be concluded that the quantification of bacteria in rumen could be conducted by this approach, and which could be used in future research.

Objective To investigate etiology of acute pneumonia in children in order to provid basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods The children with acute pneumonia who were hospitalized in children's hospital affiliated to Suzhou university were selected. And the sputum of them were collected.Bacteria and virus were tested using sputum culture and direct immunofluoresence respectively.Antibodies against mycoplasma and chlamydia were detected by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in paired sera. Results Microbial etiology was obtained in 360 cases (67.7%) of 532 patients.Viral infections were in 178 cases (33.5%).Bacterial infections were in 23 cases (4.3%),mycoplasma pneumoniae 50 cases (9.4%) and chlamydia pneumoniae 19 cases (3.6%),compound infections 90 cases (16.9%).Respiratory syncycial virus was the major viral pathogen, streptococcus pneumoniae were the prominent pathagens of bacterial pneumonia, followed by haemophilus influenza. Conclusions Viral infection is the most common cause of acute pneumonia in children in Suzhou area during winter and spring, followed by mycoplasma pneumoniae, bacteria and chlamydia pneumoniae.Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is more common in children older than 3 years, chlamydia pneumoniae infection is more in infants less than 3 months, most of compound infection children were below the age of 3 years.
