1.Phacoemulsification on corneal endothelium cells in diabetic patients with different disease duration

AIM:To observed the variation regularity of corneal endothelial cells in patients with different diabetes duration after phacoemulsification, and investigate the effects of diabetes and its disease duration on corneal endothelial cells.
METHODS: Ninety-seven ( 135 eyes ) cataract patients with diabetes were selected randomly and divided into GroupⅠ( which diabetes duration ≥10a) and GroupII(which diabetes duration <10a) according to their disease duration. Additionally 62 (89 eyes) age-related cataract patients were randomly selected as the control group. The corneal endothelial cell density ( CD ) , proportion of hexagonal cell and coefficient of variation ( CV ) in the three group patients were measured respectively before phacoemulsification and after surgery. And the measurement results were statistically analyzed.
RESULTS:The corneal endothelial CD and proportion of hexagonal cell in the three group were decreased after surgery compared with preoperative. But the CV of corneal endothelial cells was increased on the 1 st wk and in 1st mo after surgery compared with the preoperative. The difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). The corneal endothelial CD and proportion of hexagonal cell in the two diabetic groups were lower than the control group after surgery. However, the CV of corneal endothelial cells was higher than the control group. The difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ) . There was no significant difference in the corneal endothelial CD, proportion of hexagonal cell and CV between the two diabetic groups before phacoemulsification (P>0. 05). The proportion of hexagonal cell in Group Ⅰ was lower than which in GroupIIafter surgery. While the CV was higher than which in Group II. The difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: Phacoemulsification has some damage on the corneal endothelial. Since the impact of diabetes on the morphology and function of corneal endothelial cell was related to the diabetic duration. So phacoemulsification has more obvious damage on the corneal endothelial in diabetic patients. And the diabetic duration was longer, the damage on the corneal endothelial in phacoemulsification was more easily.
2.Clinical studies of sodium ferulate,deproteinized calf serum and high pressure oxygen on treating acute carbon monoxide poisoning

Objective Discuss the treatment effect of sodium ferulate,deproteinized calf serum and high pressure oxygen on acute carbon monoxide poisoning.Methods Seventy-five cases with coma acute carbon monoxide poisoning were randomly divided into two groups:the treated group (37 cases) and the control group (38 cases).The two groups were treated with high pressure oxygen,high flow oxygen uptake and support treatment,The treated group were treated with sodium ferulate and deproteinized calf serum.The control group were treated with citicoline act medicaments.Result The occurrence and injury degree of myocardial damage and delayed encephalopathy were markedly attenuated (P < 0.05),the time of coma was obviously decreased (P <0.01),the death rate was obviously difference (P <0.05) in the treated group compared with the control group.Conclusion Sodium ferulate,deproteinized calf serum injection possess obviously effect on acute carbon monoxide poisoning.
3.Relationship between Rhinovirus Infection and Asthma in Children

Objective To explore the correlation of rhinovirus infection and the morbidity of asthma in children.Methods The RV gene in nasopharyngeal secretion of 30 children with asthma acute exacerbation(asthma group),30 children in asthma clinical remission(remission group) and 30 healthy children (control group) were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The total serum IgE(T-IgE) was determined by chemiluminescence.The eosinophil(EOS) count (EOS%) of peripheral blood and lung function were also measured.Results The rhinovirus infection rate was 36.67% in asthma group and 3.33% in remission group.No rhinovirus was detected in control group.The rate of rhinovirus infections in asthma group was significantly highter than that in remission group and control group(?2=7.50,13.47 Pa0.05). FEV1% was (62.73?13.54)% in asthma rhinovirus infection and (86.42?17.78)% masthma with no rhinovirus infection.There was remarkable difference between 2 groups(F=14.553 P﹤0.05). The T-IgE was (836.32?44.801) kU/L and EOS% was 10.63?4.09 in asthma group with rhinovirus infection.The total IgE was (439.10?231.28) kU/L and EOS% was 5.04?2.64 in asthma group with no rhinovirus infection.There was significant difference between 2 groups(U=2.475,F=20.806 Pa0.05).Conclusions There is a close correlation between rhinovirus infection and acute attack of asthma(or worsening asthma) in children. Asthma exacerbations would be likely to happened easier because of rhinovirus infection in asthmatic children with high T-IgE.
4.Clinical application of twice fluid - gas exchange in vitrectomy

?AIM: To observed the clinical effect of twice fluid-gas exchange in vitrectomy for retinal detachment at the equator.?METHODS: The retrospective analysis of the 74 cases (74 eyes) with retinal detachment at the equator from January 2014 to September 2015 were reviewed. All these patients were performed standard three channel 23G vitrectomy under a wide angle lens, in which, the 37 cases ( 37 eyes ) were randomly selected and performed single fluid-gas exchange, and the other 37 cases ( 37 eyes) were performed twice fluid-gas exchange. The intraoperative surgical complications and the postoperative success rate of retinal reposition in 1wk, 1, 3mo after surgery of the two group patients were observed.? RESULTS: The intraoperative surgical complication rates of the twice fluid-gas exchange group were less than that of the single fluid-gas exchange group. The postoperative success rate of retinal reposition in the twice fluid-gas exchange group significantly increased in 1wk and 1mo after surgery, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). But the postoperative success rate of retinal reposition in 3mo after surgery had no significant difference (P>0. 05).?CONCLUSION:The twice fluid-gas exchange operation was simple and it was beneficial for beginners to master. The incomplete drainage of the single fluid-gas exchange and the pore drainage in the posterior pole or in the peripheral part of the retina were avoided during the surgery. The intraoperative surgical complication rates were reduced and the postoperative success rate of retinal reposition were improved. This operation method had great application value in clinic.

7.Application of PDCA circulation in preventing tumble among psychiatric inpatients

Objective To explore the effects of PDCA circulation in preventing tumble among psychiatric inpatients .Methods Psychiatric inpatients in the control group were recruited in January 2009 to December 2010 with 4943 cases.Psychiatric inpatients in the experimental group were recruited after using PDCA circulation in January 2011 to December 2011 with 5681 cases.The control group was given routine safety education and psychiatric nursing .PDCA circulation was used in the experimental group for tumble prevention management .The cases of tumbles and fractures were observed before and after using PDCA in the experimental group.Results The cases of adverse events in the experimental group (8 tumbles, 1 fracture) were significantly lower than which in the control group (17 tumbles, 8 fracture),the difference was statistically significant (P=0.031,0.015, respectively ).Conclusions There is a positive significance in preventing tumble among psychiatric inpatients by using PDCA circulation .
8.Investigation on formation mechanism of secologanic acid sulfonates in sulfur-fumigated buds of Lonicera japonica.

To investigate formation mechanism of secologanic acid sulfonates in sulfur-fumigated buds of Lonicera japonica, secologanic acid was enriched and purified from the sun-dried buds of L. japonica by various column chromatography on macroporus resin HPD-100, silica gel and ODS. The stimulation experiments of sulfur-fumigation process were carried out using secologanic acid reacted with SO2 in the aqueous solution. The reaction mechanism could be involved in the esterification or addition reaction. The present investigation provides substantial evidences for interpreting formation pathway of secologanic acid sulfonates in sulfur-fumigated buds of L. japonica.

9.Effect of metal ions on monocyte-macrophage cells viability and RANK expression

BACKGROUND: Similar to other prosthesis, metal-metal prosthesis would produce plenty of wear particles and metal ions, mainly presented as cobalt (Co~(2+)) and chromium (Cr~(3+)), which can lead to osteolysis, eventually, result in aseptic loosening. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Co~(2+) and Cr~(3+) ions on the cells viability and expression of RANK in rats m0nocyte-macrophage cells (RAW264.7) in vitro. METHODS: Monocyte-macrophage cells (RAW264.7) were cultured in vitro, and then the cells were exposed to Co~(2+) and Cr~(3+) ions. The cell viability was assured by MTT test and the level of RANK Mrna was detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR at different times. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared to the control group, MTT test demonstrated that Co~(2+) and Cr~(3+)ions could decrease the cell activity of monocyte-macrophage cells obviously. When the cells were exposed to Co~(2+) Cr~(3+) ions, compared to the control group, the Mrna expression of RANK of the metal ions group was increased at 12 hours (P < 0.05), reached its peak level at 24 hours (P < 0.05), and decreased at 48 hours than that of 24 hours (P < 0.05). The results revealed that metal ions have a cytotoxic effect on monocyte-macrophage cells, stimulate the expression of RANK, and have the potential of facilitating monocyte-macrophages cells transform into osteoclast-like cells.
10.Effect of micro - incision on corneal wavefront aberration and tear film in phacoemulsification

AlM: To investigate the effect of endocapsular phacoemulsification cataract extraction and intraocular lens (lOL) implantation with a 1. 8mm or 3. 0mm clear corneal incision on total root mean square ( RMS ) value of the cornea, corneal astigmatism, spherical aberration, coma, trefoil and tear film.
METHODS:ln a prospective study, 156 age- related patients ( 196 eyes ) were randomly distributed into two groups. 1. 8mm-group comprised 94 eyes that had a silicone lOL inserted through a 1. 8mm sutureless clear corneal incision, while, 3. 0mm- group comprised 102 eyes through a 3. 0mm clear corneal incision. Postoperatively, the changes in the total RMS value of the cornea, corneal astigmatism, spherical aberration, coma, trefoil and tear film at 1wk, 1 and 3mo were determined respectively.
RESULTS:ln both groups, postoperatively at 1wk,there were statistically significant differences ( P<0. 05 ) in the total RMS value of the cornea, corneal astigmatism, spherical aberration, coma, trefoil and tear film, while, there were statistically minimal differences ( P< 0. 05 ) between 1. 8mm-group and 3. 0mm-group at 1mo, but were not statistically significantly different ( P > 0. 05 ) between two groups at 3mo postoperative.
CONCLUSlON:This study confirms that incision size has strong impact on the corneal higher-order aberrations, especially, 3. 0mm incision caused significant differences in the total RMS value of cornea, corneal astigmatism, spherical aberration, coma, trefoil and tear film compared with 1. 8mm micro-incision, therefore, micro-incision is very beneficial for clinical use in phacoemulsification.
