With the Meta-analysis method, the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and other regular methods for aphasia was evaluated, and the acupoints selection for aphasia was explored. The acupuncture literature of clinical randomized control trials for aphasia published in CNKI, WANFANG, VIP and CBM database was searched; the statistical analysis of clinical efficacy of acupuncture and other regular methods for aphasia was performed by using software Revman 5. 2 provided by Cochrane library. A file of Microsoft Excel was established to perform the analysis of acupoints selection based on frequency analysis method, so as to summarize the characteristics and rules. Totally 385 articles were searched, and 37 articles those met the inclusive criteria was included, involving 1,260 patients in the acupuncture group and 1 238 patients in the control group. The Meta-analysis results showed OR = 3.82, 95% Cl [3.01, 4.85]; rhombus was located on the right side and the funnel plot was nearly symmetry, indicating the treatment effect of the acupuncture group for aphasia was superior to the control group (Z = 11.04, P < 0.000 01). The frequency-analysis results showed that the frequency of acupoints from top to bottom was Lian-quan (CV 23), Tongli (HT 5), Yamen (GV 15), Jinjin (EX-HN 12), Yuye (EX-HN 13), Baihui (GV 20), Yuyan II, Yuyan I and Yuyan III. The frequency of meridians from top to bottom was the governor vessel, extra channels, conception vessel, heart meridian and large intestine meridian. It is concluded that the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with speech rehabilitation training and medication treatment for aphasia is superior to that of speech rehabilitation training and medication treatment alone. The clinical treatment for aphasia focuses on its local effect; the main acupoints are in the head and face, and the meridians are governor vessel, extra channels and conception vessel.

OBJECTIVE To study the bacteriology of pneumonia and its clinical significance in patients with lung cancer.METHODS The bacteriology and clinical features of patients with lung cancer accompanied with lung infections between 2002 and 2005 in our hospital were analyzed.RESULTS Pneumonia took place in 53.7% of 328 patients with lung cancer,the most of them were elderly people and the chemotherapy receivers,and the rates of pneumonia associated with small cell lung carcinoma(63%) and squamous cell carcinoma(59.7%) were significantly higher than those with adenocarcinoma(44.0%) and alveolar cell carcinoma(40.6%)(P

The inter-species differences of estradiol metabolism were investigated in human, Beagle dog and rat liver microsomes by comparing enzyme kinetics of parent drug and the formation of its major metabolites. The incubation systems of estradiol with liver microsomes of the three species were optimized in terms of estradiol concentration, microsomal protein content and incubation time. The concentrations of estradiol and its metabolites were measured by LC-MS/MS method. The t1/2, CLint, CLh, Km and Vmax of estradiol incubated with male human liver microsomes were 40.02 +/- 8.32 min, 41.39 +/- 6.57 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 13.81 +/- 12.36 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 26.8 +/- 6.99 micromol x L(-1) and 0.75 +/- 0.92 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), respectively. The corresponding parameters of female human were 44.71 +/- 10.21 min, 29.85 +/- 8.97 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 0.01 +/- 0.68 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 44.2 +/- 7.73 micromol x L(-1) and 1.27 +/- 4.41 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of male dog were 21 +/- 7.33 min, 165.53 +/- 29.33 mL x min(-1) xkg(-1), 26.01 +/- 8.39 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 19.5 +/- 7.34 micromol x L(-1) and 1.6 +/- 0.65 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of female dog were 25.5 +/- 5.32 min, 135.11 +/- 42.34 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 0.24 +/- 3.18 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 8.33 +/- 6.32 micromol x L(-1) and 0.51 +/- 2.15 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), that of male rat were 5.11 +/- 3.84 min, 485.63 +/- 36.52 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 49.57 +/- 15.29 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 62 +/- 13.74 micromol x L(-1) and 19.16 +/- 9.67 micromol x L(-1) x min(-1), and that of female rat were 7.0 +/- 3.69 min, 354.82 +/- 33.33 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 8.04 +/- 3.23 mL x min(-1) x kg(-1), 35.38 +/- 7.65 micromol x L(-1) and 8.39 +/- 4.91 micromol x L(-1) min(-1), respectively. There were nine metabolites detected from all the three species, but the relative amounts of the metabolites generated were different in three species. The results indicted that the major phase I metabolic pathway of estradiol was similar in the liver microsomes from all the three species. However, the inter-species differences were found in the view of relative amounts of the metabolites as well as the metabolic characteristics of estradiol in liver microsomal incubation.

Objective To evaluate the preliminary outcome of cannulated screw internal fixation in treatment of the tarsometatarsal joint injuries.Methods From January 2005 to October 2010,21 patients(14 males and 7 females)with the tarsometatarsal joint injuries were treated.Their age ranged from 21 to 62 years(average 38.2 years).According to anatomical three-column classification,there were four patients with single medial column injury,four with medial and middle column injuries,three with middle and lateral column injuries,two with single lateral column injury and eight with three column injuries.The injury causes included traffic injury in nine patients,machine injury in eight and fall from height injury in four.The period from injury to admission was 2-15 hours(mean 5 hours).During operation,open reduction was performed,followed by internal fixation with the cannulated screw.X-ray examination was done in the regular follow-up and function was evaluated by using Maryland scoring system.Results Of all,19 patients were followed up for 4-47 months(mean 20 months),which showed no infection,loosing or breakage of the internal fixation.According to the Maryland scoring system,the clinical outcome was rated as excellent in eight patients,good in seven,fair in two and poor in two,with excellence rate of 79％.Conclusions The three-column theory plays an important role in clinical diagnosis and therapy of the tarsometatarsal joint injuries.Open reduction and cannulated screw internal fixation may attain satisfactory clinical results in treatment of the tarsometatarsal joint injuries.

OBJECTIVETo study the main mechanisms of Aitongxiao Recipe (ATXR) for anti-tumor at the molecular level, and to clarify different efficient drugs' roles in anti-tumor, thus in-depth explaining the objectivity and substance of "cancer toxic" theory.

METHODSWalker-256 tumor strain was used for Wistar rat transplanted liver cancer modeling. After successful modeling rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, i. e., the ATXP group, the qi regulating and blood circulating group (as the assembled I group), the heat clearing and detoxification group (as the assembled II group), the body resistance strengthening and cultivating group (as the assembled III group), and the model group, 10 in each group. Corresponding medication was given to rats in each group for 14 successive days. Finally rats were sacrificed and the tumor mass was taken out. The apoptosis rate and the cell cycle of tumor cells were detected by flow cytometry Annexin V/PI. The protein and mRNA expressions of Bcl-2 and survivin were detected using immunohistochemistry and real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR.

RESULTS(1) The apoptosis of hepatoma carcinoma cells could be obviously promoted in the ATXP group. The cell cycle could also be affected, making major cells arrest at G0/G1 phase. The proliferation of hepatoma carcinoma cells was effectively prevented. The efficacy in the assembled II group was in line with that in the ATXP group with no statistical difference (P>0.05). It was also effective in the assembled III group, but its efficacy was not as good as that in the former two groups, showing statistical difference (P<0.01). (2) ATXP could obviously down-regulate the protein and mRNA expressions of Bcl-2 and survivin in hepatoma carcinoma cells. Drugs for heat clearing and detoxification showed significant effects on down-regulating the protein and mRNA expressions of Bcl-2 and survivin in hepatoma carcinoma cells. Their effects were similar to that of ATXP (P>0.05). The effects of drugs for body resistance strengthening and cultivating were not as good as the former two, showing statistical difference (P<0.01). Drugs for blood circulating and stasis removing could up-regulate the protein and mRNA expressions of Bcl-2 and survivin to some extent.

CONCLUSIONS(1) ATXP could increase the apoptosis ratio of hepatoma carcinoma cells obviously through down-regulating the protein and mRNA expressions of Bcl-2 and survivin, thus inhibiting their proliferation. (2) Drugs for heat clearing and detoxification played the most important roles in ATXP. The evil heat and dampness (damp-heat insidious pathogen) is the most fundamental carcinogenic factors. The insufficiency of vital qi is also one of the pathogenic factors. The mechanisms of phlegm, stasis, and other pathological products are not clear and await further studies.

The hybrid PET/MR has been gradually applied in clinical practice.However,the hybrid PET/MR is a com plex advanced technique,and it brings to the new challenges,especially regarding the workflow and scan protocols.The guidelines for hybrid PET/MR in brain imaging include information related to the indications and contraindications,preparation before examination,procedures of examination (PET imaging,conventional MRI brain imaging and special MRI imaging for brain disease),application of radiopharmaceutical and MRI contrast-enhanced agent.The purpose of the guidelines is to offer a framework that would be practical and helpful for clinical PET/MR brain imaging.In PET tracers,the guidelines only limit to the 18 F-FDG.

AIM: To study the role of high level of endogenous nitric oxide (NO) in apoptosis of alveolar epithelial cells in the development of pulmonary fibrosis in rats. METHODS: The content of nitrite/nitrate (NO 2-/NO 3-) in out-flowing pulmonary blood (OPB) was assayed by nitric acid reduction method. The apoptosis of alveolar epithelial cells was observed by TdT-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) and electron microscopy, respectively. The above indices were observed on the day 14 and the day 30 after intratracheal administration of BLMA 5 alone or along with blockade of iNOS by aminoguanidine (AG) in rats. AIM: To explore the role of NO in the induction of brain ischemic tolerance (BIT) by observing changes of NOS activity and NO_2-/NO_3- content following a transient cerebral ischemia. METHODS: The rat 4-vessel occluding brain ischemic model was used. 140 male Wistar rats were divided into sham, cerebral ischemic preconditioning (CIP), ischemic insult and CIP+ischemic insult groups. An occlusion of the 4 vessels for 3 min was normally used as CIP, and a relative long one for 10 min was used as ischemic insult. When CIP was followed by ischemic insult, the interval between them was 3 d. The CA1 region of the hippocampus of rats was dissected out at 0 h, 2 h, 16 h, 24 h, 36 h, 72 h and 7 d after the last time of ischemia to assay its NOS activity and NO_2-/NO_3- content. RESULTS: The NOS activity and NO_2-/NO_3- content began to increase at 16 h, peaked at 24 h and decreased to basal level at 36 h of reperfusion after CIP. The duration of the up-regulation of NOS activity and NO_2-/NO_3- content was much shorter than that of BIT, which usually takes place 1-7 d after CIP.
