Reviewing the literatures about adverse reactions induced by traditional Chinese medicine injections (TCMI) reported on CNKI from 1983 to 2013. Analyzing the causes of adverse reactions induced by TCMI from its quality standards. Provide ideas for improving security of TCMI and completing its quality standards. This review indicates that TCMI-induced adverse reactions have little relationship with the number of compositions, but have tight connection with chemical ingredients and solvents. Adverse reactions can be decreased by perfecting the quality standards of TCMI.

BACKGROUND:Selection of proper bone transplantation materials to substitute autogenous bone for treatment of jaw bone defect in patients has become the focus of current researches.OBJECTIVE:To observe the ability of tissue engineered bone constructed with nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen/poly(L-lactic acid)(nHAC/PLA)co-cultured with bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)in treatment of rabbit mandibular defect.and to make a comparison with autogenous bone and simple nHAC/PLA.DESIGN.TIME AND SETTING:A randomized controlled animal experiment was performed at the Animal Laboratory of Jinzhou Central Hospital between March and October 2007.MATERIALS:A total of 40 New Zealand rabbits were randomized to 4 groups.with 10 rabbits per group:nHAC/PLA co-cultured with rabbit BMSCs(BMSCs/nHAC/PLA),autogenous bone,nHAC/PLA,and control.METHODS:A 15 mm×15 mm full-thickness bone defect was created in rabbit mandible body.In the BMSCs/nHAC/PLA group.bone defect was repaired by nHAC/PLA co-cultured with BMSCs for 14 days in vitro;the bone defect in the autogenous bone and nHAC/PLA groups was treated by autogenous iliac bone and nHAC/PLA.respectively;while the control group received no any treatment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:At 1,3,and 6 months after surgery,bone mineral density(BMD)measurement and histological examination were performed to evaluate the repairing effects of bone defect.RESULTS:The BMSCs/nHAC/PLA group exhibited the BMD similar to the autogenous bone group(P＞0.05),but it was significantly higher compared to the nHAC/PLA group and the blank control group(P＜0.01).At 6 months after surgery.newly formed bone tissue grew towards large bulk and bridged defected stumps.and the seaffold materials were hardly seen in the BMSCs/nHAC/PLA and autogenous bone groups;simultaneously.the nHAC/PLA group exhibited increased trabecular bone with many fibrous tissues and incompletely degraded seaffold materials.CONCLUSION:BMSCs/nHAC/PLA seaffold exhibits the effects similar to autogenous bone.but superior to nHAC/PLA seaffold in the treatment of mandibular defects.

The envelope gene of ADOL-4817 strain of avian leukosis viru s subgroup J (ALV-J) was amplified by polymerase chain reaction （PCR） and clo ned into TA vector. The sequence analysis results showed that the envelope gene is composed of 1?746 bp, 1?554 bp of which could be translated into 517 amino acids for gp85 and gp37. The molecular weight of envelope protein is 57.7kD. T here are 15 potential glycosylation sites in the envelope protein, 13 of which i s located in gp85. Analysis of sequences of envelope gene indicate that ADOL -4817 showed high degree of sequence identity to other ALV-J strains, and m ost close ly related to the like-envelope gene of endogenous virus EAV-HP but divergent from these of other ALV subgroup A-E . These data support the hypothesis that envelope gene of avian leukosis virus subgroup J maybe acquired by recombination with expressed sequences.

Objective To study the effects of glycosaminoglycan extracted from Pinctada martensii on the proliferation, differentiation and mineralization of newborn rat calvarium osteoblast in vitro. Methods MTT, PNPP and ARS methods were used to measure the cell proliferation, activity of ALP and the function of mineral nodes formation of osteoblasts cultured in vitro. Results Glycosaminoglycan at concentration of 0.008～0.5g?L -1 inhibited mildly the proliferation of osteoblast cells, however, this range of concentrations of glycosaminoglycan markedly increased the ALP activity and stimulated mineral node bone formation in osteoblast. Conclusion Glycosaminoglycan extracted from the Pinctada martensii showed stimulating effects on the differentiation and mineralization of newborn rat calvarium osteoblast in vitro, but the stimulating effect on cells proliferation was not observed.

Objective The feasibility and the curative effect of bipolar hemiarthroplasty for hemiplegic side femoral neck fractures in elderly patients were evaluated.Methods The patients suffering from hemiplegic side femoral neck fractures and undergoing bipolar hemiarthroplasty in Beijing Tongren Hospital were followed-up during 2012-2015.The postoperative Harris Score and the complications such as infection,deep vein thrombosis and dislocation were collected.Results Totally 25 patients(25 hips)were followed-up.The average age was 70.1 years,and mean follow-up period was 24.3 months (10-42 months).The mean Barthel index score was higher (77.4 ± 14.7,ranging from 40-95 points) after operation than before operation[25.00 ± 5.95 (15-35 points)] with a statistically significant difference(t=-21.374,P＜＜0.05).The postoperative Harris Score was 83.5± 8.9(60-95 points).According to Harris score,the excellent and good rate was 80.0％.The patient's satisfaction rate was 88.0％.Conclusions Choosing proper prosthesis and fixing measure,and keeping the function and tension of short extorsion muscles can achieve the satisfactory results for hemiplegic side femoral neck fractures in elderly patients.

BACKGROUND:The physical properties and chemical composition of teeth are very similar with human bone tissue, and there are a larger proportion of inorganic components. Therefore, tooth can be considered as a potential repair material for autologous or alogeneic bone defects. OBJECTIVE:To prepare polyetheretherketone/odontogenic biphasic bioceramic composite, and to test its mechanical properties. METHODS: The humanin vitro teeth of clinical waste were colected. The organic components were removed after a preliminary calcination. Another calcination was conducted after soaking in diammonium phosphate solution for 24 hours to prepare the biphasic ceramics with the main components of hydroxyapatite and β-tricalcium phosphate. The biphasic ceramics were ground and sieved using 200-mesh sieve folowed by impregnation in organic foam to prepare polyetheretherketone/odontogenic biphasic bioceramics. Phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy, elemental analysis, porosity, compressive strength and bond strength test were conducted. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Polyetheretherketone/odontogenic biphasic bioceramics presented porous network structure and interconnected holes, with the aperture of 100-800 μm, porosity of 73.65%, compressive strength of (165.260±11.703) N, bond strength of (14.63±6.21) MPa. P element content accounted for 19.8%, and Ca element content accounted for 40.5%. The main phases were β- tricalcium phosphate and hydroxyapatite. These results demonstrate that polyetheretherketone/odontogenic biphasic bioceramics have good mechanical properties.

Objective To observe and evaluate acute toxicities in a series of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive cancer patients receiving radiation therapy.Methods The study retrospectively reviewed the acute radiation reaction of radiation therapy of 14 HIV seropositive patients diagnosed with carcinoma between Feb 2008 and Dec 2013 at the Yunnan Tumor Hospital during the radiotherapy period and 1 month following treatment.Acute adverse effects were classified according to the site of radiation therapy and analyzed using the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) version 3.0.Results Seven patients experienced interruptions or delays in treatment,and 2 stopped treatment entirely.The most common acute adverse effects were skin reactions and mucous membrane reactions,including dermatitis,stomatitis or diarrhea.Eight patients had grade 3 acute adverse effects,including 6 patients with grade 3 skin reactions and 2 patients with grade 3 mucosa reactions.Conclusions Radiotherapy is an effective treatment for HIV positive patients with tumors,however it frequently induced severe acute radiation responses.
