Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2006;26(7):523-524
To design a warming acupuncture-moxibustion apparatus suitable to warming acupuncture therapy and easily attaching to the filiform needle handle. The apparatus consists of a container for moxa, a tray and regulative clips. The container for moxa is for store of moxa-wool without bottom and it can prevent moxa fire and ash from dropping and burning the skin of the patient or the clothes; the tray with holes on it can serve as a support of the moxa in the container, and can control the moxa burning and heat radiation; the clips can adjust the distance between the cone and the skin. With the advantages of handy material, easy installation, lower cost, and convenient operation, the apparatus is worthy of clinical application and popularization.

2.Measurement and analysis of acupuncture manipulation.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2007;27(11):829-831
Acupuncture manipulation is an important part of the theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, and it is a basic skill for acupuncture physicians. In order to further disclose the essence and character of acupuncture manipulation, the scholars collect in time acupuncture manipulations by the multi-subject crossing methods for qualitative, quantitative analysis and study, and make its analysis of dynamics and kinematics with the riper engineering. However, the current study and analysis on acupuncture manipulation is not deep and not systemic, so the thesis proposes a research way which should create a database of the acupuncture manipulation, so as to provide reliable evidences for studies of correlativity between acupuncture manipulation and acupuncture effects, and establish the theoretical basis for the study of the quantification and standardization of acupuncture manipulation.

4.Thinking on the teaching reform of meridians, collaterals and acupoints.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(11):1047-1048
In terms of the partiality and limitation in the teaching of meridians, collaterals and acupoints at present, it is required to construct the clinical thinking system of pattern/syndrome differentiation according to meridians and collaterals, the locations of acupoints and acupoint selection according to pattern/syndrome determination, to standardize acupoint selection and systematically intensify the operation skills and to have alternately the photograph examination so that the students of the specialty of acupuncture and moxibustion are not only capable of the clinical thinking of acupuncture and moxibustion as well as the operation skills, but also of the visualized localization of acupoints.

As a vital part of acupuncture and moxibustion, the theory of penetration needling obviously lags behind the practice. This article summarizes the thoughts andmethods of penetration needling by professor . Based on the three basic elements of penetrating acupuncture, including the acupoint, needle and manipulation, the academic origins, the application of penetrating acupuncture at present and the clinical cases are reviewed; the essential content and the extension meaning of needle penetration are summarized, which is based on the identification of the location, pathology and characteristics of disease, combined with the characteristics of acupoints and the tissue structure of the part, we quantify the intensity of stimulation, so as to provide featured reference clinical practice.

6.Thinking of therapeutic mechanism of small knife needle in treating closed myofascitis.
Yong ZHAO ; Wei FANG ; Wei-kai QIN
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(9):907-909
The authors investigated and discussed therapeutic mechanism of small knife needle in treating closed myofascitis on the basis of pathomechanism of modern medicine and acupuncture theory of TCM among numbers of clinical cases and experimental data. Therapeutic mechanism lies in 6 aspects: (1) Relieve the energy crisis of tenderness point on muscular fasciae; (2) Affect nervous system and reduce induction of harmful stimulating signal; (3) Inhibit aseptic inflammatory reaction on muscular fasciae; (4) Regulate dynamic equilibrium of soft tissue by cutting scar and releasing the conglutination; (5) Increase patients' regional threshold of feeling; (6) Reduce tension and pressure of soft tissue of tenderness point so as to relieve extrusion of nervus cutaneous.

7.Acupoint position and manipulation of needle knife treating shoulder bi syndrome.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2016;36(3):299-302
With Jianyu (LI 15), Jianliao (TE 14) and Jianzhen (SI 9) for instance, the three acupoints used to treat shoulder bi syndrome by needle knife, and through traceability and researching constant structure, the acupoint position, insertion trace, manipulation and clinical significance of needle knife medicine were discussed. Accurate position is one of the characteristics of acupoints selection of needle knife medicine. As for the acupoints selection method, the mean of body surface localization is always used. The phanerous or palpable bone processes, muscles and tendons are taken as positioning marks; pressing areas where appear sour, numb, or distensible and other sensations is considered as the principle of press positioning. So acupoints position method is the combination of observation and palpation. Different insertion methods can effectively relieve the accretive bursae synovialis, tendon, joint capsule and the compressed nerve, so that shoulder bi syndrome is relieved.
