1.Effect and Mechanism of Immobilization on Skeletal Muscle (review)
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(12):1024-1025
Immobilization is a usual method to treat the injury of skeletal muscle system and plays an important role in rehabilitation of diseases. But immobilization also displays some negative effects, of all, muscle system is affected significantly. The mechanism is explored in the article from immobilization-induced skeletal muscle atrophy, the dropping of muscle power, reduction of vessels density in muscle and metabolic disturbance of muscle. The authors of the article advances that shortening the period of immobilization as possible and performing early rehabilitation are important to remove the negative influence of immobilization, but all treatments should obey the medical rules.

Objective To observe the effects of estrogen on the behavior and the norepinephrine level in the habenular nucleus of depressive rats, and explore the mechanism of estrogen involved in the process of antidepression. Methods Thirty rats were chosen from forty male Wistar rats, which had the similar scores in open field test. The depression models of rats were established by chronic mild stress.Open field test and forced swimming test were performed to detect the behavioral changes between rats with ovary excision(OVX) and with estradiol-treated ovary excision(OV/ER).High performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) was used to observe the changes of norepinephrine level in habenular nucleus. Results After 21-day chronic mild stress, the open field test showed that the vertical motion and cross motion in OV/ER group were increased(P

Objective By developing ultrasound picture archiving and communication system(PACS),to implement networking of ultrasound imaging equipment, central image storage and standardization of computer-aided diagnosis report. Methods Ultrasound image workstation was develop to acquire, display, manipulate and print ultrasound static and dynamic images using C++ computer language. Also, all ultrasound equipments in department formed the DICOM network . Central image server and ultrasound information system server we re connected together with all workstations by computer Ethernet network, thus, using switch, and connecting to hospital internet WWW server to distribut the image and report. Results Ultrasound DICOM digital images and high quality video image successfully acquired, displayed, processed and network communicated, seamless integrated with hospital information system, functions such as image central storage, computer-aided report and sharing printing were implemented. Conclusions Application of ultrasound image management system improves the administration and increases work efficiency in imaging diagnosis, promotes the reform of working pattern of doctors and provides more convenience for work, research and study. Image systems highly increase the level of patient care service. Standardization of medical reports computer-aided is superior to handwritten report.

Objective To summarize the experiences in treating 30 cases of skin soft tissue defects in head and neck by applying repeated expansion, and to explore an effective and satisfactory method of massive defect repair in head and neck. Methods Skin soft tissues were repeatedly expanded for 1 to 3 times after the first expansion. Massive skin defects in head and neck were repaired several times by useing repeated expansion of flap. The size of the skin defects ranged from 29cm?24cm to 10cm?8cm. The indications, complications and experiences in the treatment were discussed. Results A total of 30 cases were treated. Complication incidences of every expansive procedure were 27%, 15%, 14% and 0% respectively . After 6~12 months postoperative follow-up, the appearance and functional restoration was satisfactory. Conclusion Repeated expansion is an excellent method of repairing massive defects in head and neck.

Objective: To study the protective effect of compound extract of soybean, wolfberry and hawthorn on chemical liver injury in mice respectively. Methods:The mice were randomly divided into 5 groups:control(A), liver injury control(B)and 0.06(C)?0.20(D)?0.60(E) g/(kg?bw) compound extract group. The liver injury models were induced by CCl 4 and ethanol in mice respectively. After 4 weeks, for the former, the serum ALT and AST content were measured and the liver pathological change was observed. For the latter, the liver MDA, GSH, and TG content were measured and fat droplets staining in the ice pathological slice were observed . Results: 1.CCl 4 liver injury models:the content of serum ALT of group D and the AST of group D and E were decreased. Compared with normal group, the hepatic pathological changes of the compound extract group was mainly fatty and ballon degeneration, and that of the CCl 4 group was mainly hepatic cytoclasis. 2.Ethanol liver injury models: the content of liver MDA of group C, E and the TG of group C, D, E were all decreased, and the fatty degeneration scores of group C, D were lower, both compared with ethanol group. Conclusion: Compound extract of soybean, wolfberry and hawthorn has the protective effect on liver injuries induced by both CCl 4 and ethanol in mice.

Objective To investigate the mechanism of anti-tumor in lung cancer patients and their effects to immune system undergoing with microwave ablation treatment, radioimmunotherapy of 131Ⅰ tumor cells human mouse chimeric monoclonal antibody injection (131Ⅰ-chTNT) and combined treatment of two anterior method. Methods The 50 cases of lung cancer were divided into three groups randomly,17 cases were in the group of simple microwave ablation treatment,15 cases were in the group of simple radiotherapy immunotherapy,18 cases were in the group of combined microwave ablation treatment with 131Ⅰ-chTNT radioimmunoassay.During the study, the T lymphocyte subsets, the activity of NK cells, the expressing of interleukin (IL)-2,IL-10,IL-12,the changing of the interferon γ(IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) were detected and compared of before and after treatment on all the patients. Results The CD4+ value,CD4+/CD8+ value and the activity of NK cells in these three groups after treatment were higher than that of before treatment (P < 0.05),there was statistic difference between the combined treatment group and two simple treatment groups (P < 0.01).The expression of IL-2,IL-12,IFN-γ TNF-α in three group patients after treatment were higher than that of before treatment, which had statistical significance (P < 0.05),while there were no significant differences between groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion The method combined microwave ablation treatment with 131Ⅰ-chTNT radioimmunoassay has efficiency to improve the immune function, which could improve the comprehensive therapeutic effect of lung cancer excellently.

Objective To investigate the impact of applying patient-centered care concept on easing the negative moods among the parents of the neonates hospitalized in NICU.Methods The parents of neonates (76 people) hospitalized in NICU from March to May in 2012 were selected as the control group, they conducted normal nursing. The parents of neonates hospitalized in NICU during June and August in 2012 were named as the observation group (81 people). In addition to the normal nursing, they were given nursing intervention according to patient-centered care concept. The anxiety and depression moods of the two groups was analyzed. Results Before the patient-centered care concept intervention, there was no statistical difference of SAS,SDS scores for both groups. For the observation group, the SAS,SDS scores after intervention were significantly lower than those before the intervention. While for the control group, there was no statistical difference of SAS,SDS scores. After intervention, the SAS、SDS scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions The negative moods of the parents of hospitalized neonates can be eased significantly by applying patient-centered care concept intervention.
