The beginning of stomatology education in China is much later than America,and the education model is different from each other. This article compares the educational system,the requirements of enrollment and teaching between College of Stomatology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and 12 Faculties of Dentistry in America,so as to find both the similarities and the dif-ferences,and then give some advice to improve the education system of stomatology in China.

Based on the request for high quality talents of social development and the status quo of medical humanistic education,this article comes up with the conclusion that cultivation of humanistic spirit for medical students should be conducted from the following aspects.Firstly,humanistic spirit should be included in every link of the teaching course.Secondly,humanistic quality of the teaching staff should be strengthened.Last but not least,humanistic spirit should also be applied to the practice.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the human body pharmacokinetics and bioequiavailability of two kinds of oral single dose of hydrochloric itraconazole capsules.METHODS:A randomized,crossover study of20healthy volunteers receiving sin-gle oral dose of200mg itraconazole was conducted with in vivo blood concentrations determined by HPLC-fluorescence de-tection.RESULTS:The pharmacokinetic parameters for the testing itraconazole and the reference itraconazole were as fol-lows,t 1/2 were(29.3?5.62)h and(29.3?5.81)h,respectively;C max were(81.4?60.0)?g/L and(77.8?45.2)?g/L,respec-tively;t max were(3.9?0.70)h and(4.2?0.70)h,respectively;AUC 0～72 were(1199.4?649.6)(?g?h)/L and(1174.3?701.9)(?g?h)/L,respectively;AUC 0～∞ were(1414.0?815.2)(?g?h)/L and(1386.1?735.8)(?g?h)/L,respectively.there were no significant differences in main pharmacokinetics parameters between2preparations,except in t max from analysis of variance and one-side&two-sides t-tests.The relative bioavailability of trial itraconazole capsule was(105.3?23.4)%.CONCLUSION:These two kinds of itraconazole capsules are bioequivalent.

OBJECTIVETo explore the possible mechanism of total flavonoids of Litsea coreana (TFLC) on reducing blood glucose level in rat with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

METHODSMale SD rats of T2DM allocated in two groups were treated with 400 mg/kg TFLC or metformin respectively via gastrogavage for 6 weeks. Blood routine biochemical indices in rats were measured; pathology of rats' liver was examined with HE stain under transmission electron microscopy; levels of malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in liver homogenate were determined, and the expression of protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) in liver was detected using RT-PCR at the terminal of the experiment.

RESULTSBiochemical measuring showed that the glucose tolerance of rats after treatment was markedly improved in both groups. Meantime, levels of fast blood glucose (FBG), glycohemoglobin (HbA1c), fast blood insulin (FINS), free fatty acid (FFA), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), as well as MDA level in liver were decreased, while levels of high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) in blood and SOD in liver were significantly increased in both groups after treatment, showing insignificant difference between two treatment groups. Light microscopic examination showed markedly fatty degeneration of liver, and electron microscopic examination found mitochondria swelling and endoplasmic reticulum breakage in liver of T2DM rats, but these changes were ameliorated to some extent after treatment. The elevated PTP1B expression in liver of T2DM rats was decreased in the TFLC treated group, but unchanged in the metformin treated group.

CONCLUSIONTFLC can significantly decrease the blood levels of glucose and lipid and ameliorate oxidation stress in liver; its mechanism of action in improving insulin resistance might be related with its suppression on PTP1B expression in rat's liver to enhance the insulin signaling pathway.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of scoliosis among primary and middle school students in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into scoliosis control among children and adolescents. Methods: Grade 4 to 6 primary school students and grade 1 to 3 junior high school students were recruited using a stratified cluster sampling method in Jiaxing City in 2019. Participants' demographic characteristics, dietary habits and nutritional status, physical activity, learning environments, reading and writing habits were collected using questionnaires. Scoliosis was screened through general examinations, forward bend test and scoliometer, and scoliosis was diagnosed with whole-spine X-ray scans in an erect position. The prevalence of scoliosis was descriptively analyzed among primary and middle school students. Results: A total of 8 026 primary and middle school students were included, 7 304 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 91.00%. The respondents included 3 667 primary school students (50.21%) and 3 637 junior high school students (49.79%), and included 3 776 boys (51.70%) and 3 528 girls (48.30%). There were 659 participants with initial screening positive for scoliosis (9.02%), and the percentages of positive initial screening of thoracic, thoracolumbar and lumbar scoliosis were 2.93%, 4.56% and 4.56%, respectively. A higher percentage of positive initial screening of scoliosis was diagnosed among participants living in Pinghu City (10.45%), junior high school students (11.74%), girls (11.96%), students with a medical history of anemia (22.44%), students with less than 3 days of moderate-intensity physical activity in the past week (9.46%), students with less than 3 days of walking duration of over 10 minutes in the past week (10.18%), students with daily sitting duration of 5 hours and more in the past week (10.74%), students with their class seats exchanged every semester or month (10.28%), students with daily reading and writing duration of 3 hours and more after school (10.93%) and students with less than 10 cm distance from the chest at reading or writing to the edge of the table (9.67%) (all P<0.05). A total of 218 students received whole-spine X-ray scans in an erect position, 132 participants were definitively diagnosed as scoliosis (60.55%), and the estimated prevalence of scoliosis was 5.46%. Conclusion The percentage of positive initial screening of scoliosis was 9.02% among primary and middle school students in Jiaxing City. Gender, stage of learning, nutritional status, exercise frequency and habits of reading and writing may be factors affecting the development of scoliosis.

Objective: To verify the costs, benefit and effectiveness of hepatitis B immunoprophylaxis strategies in Shenzhen during 2006-2030. Methods: The markov model was constructed to reflect the reality of the newborn vaccination and prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) strategy, the cost, benefit and effectiveness during 2006-2015 and 2016-2030 was evaluated and predicted by the model. The model was constructed with the basic parameters such as the positive rate of hepatitis B surface antibody, perinatal HBV infection rate, the screening rate and positive rate of HBsAg of pregnant women, the utility value of hepatitis B and the parameters of markov model. and the coverage rates, vaccination fee of hepatitis B and the expenditures of patients with HB-related diseases.The costs were calculated from the payer, medical-care and all society perspective. The effectiveness and benefits of the strategy were evaluated and predicted by the numbers of HBV infection and the patients with HBV-related diseases prevented, life years (LYs), quality adjusted life years (QALYs), the net benefits (NBs) and benefit cost ratio (BCRs). Results: From the payer, medical-care and all society perspectives, the costs for the strategy were 153 million Yuan, 5.51 billion Yuan and 10.92 billion Yuan, respectively from 2006 to 2030 of which the forecast costs for 2016-2030 were 120 million Yuan, 3.87 billion yuan and 7.81 billion yuan. During the year 2006-2030, the numbers of HBV infection and the HBV-related diseases was 2.48 million, more than 1.335 million LYs and 1.619 million QALYs should be obtained from the strategy implemented. From medical-care and all society perspectives, NBs should be 88.68 billion yuan and 150.13 billion yuan with the BCRs of 17.08 and 14.75, respectively. Particularly, the NBs value of 22.37 billion yuan and 37.98 billion yuan and the BCR value of 14.62 and 13.20 was calculated for the past period, but the future NBs of 66.31 billion yuan and 112.15 billion yuan and BCR of 18.12 and 15.36 in the year 2016-2030. The further benefits were increased evidently in the future. Conclusion The hepatitis B immunization in Shenzhen has a high economic effectivenee and benefits, and it is worth to invest sustainably.

ObjectiveTo investigate the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in treatment efficacy evaluation of polymyositis and dermatomyositis.MethodsFifteen patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis underwent MRI of thigh were included.Scores of MRI signal intensity of the diseased muscle of every patient were compared before and after treatment and the correlation between serum creatinkinase (CK) level and muscle strength grade were also compared.Correlations between muscle strength grade and MRI score,as well as muscle strength grade and creatinkinase level were analyzed.Comparisons between groups were tested by t test,and the relationship between muscle strength and clinical data was analyzed by Pearson's correlation analysis.ResultsThe signal score of MRI was counted before and after therapy(2.37±0.62,1.30±0.28,respectively,P＜0.05),and CK level[(3841±3175),(549±338) U/L,respectively,P＜0.05] and muscle strength (15.1 ±2.4,18.1 ±0.9,respectively,P＜0.05) were assessed at the same time.Muscle strength grade was associated with signal score of MRI and serum CK level,there was a strong correlation between muscle strength grade and signal score of MRI(r=-0.890,P＜0.05 ).ConclusionMRI may be a useful tool for clinical efficacy evaluation in patients with polymyositis and dermatomyositis.
