Abstract? AlM: To evaluate the meaning of using optical coherence tomography with enhanced depth imaging ( OCT-EDl ) to measure choroidal thickness of central serous retinopathy ( CSC) .?METHODS: With the retrospective case control study, 65 patients (65 eyes) with CSC and 50 healthy controls (50 eyes ) with age, gender and diopter - matched were recruited in this study. OCT-EDl were used to measure the subfoveal choroidal thickness ( SFCT ) in CSC eyes, the fellow eyes and also the control eyes. Of which 40 of the 65 CSC patients self-cured, 14 of them were treated with photodynamic therapy ( PDT ) , the left 11 accepted the laser photocoagulation ( LP ) . SFCT were measured 3mo after that. Compared with the previous data, the statistical analysis was carried out.?RESULTS: The SFCT value of 65 CSC eyes, 65 fellow eyes and 50 control eyes were 436. 23 ± 89. 50, 389. 45 ± 101. 03 and 329. 36 ± 95. 87μm, respectively. The SFCT of suffer and fellow eyes increased significantly compared to the control eyes ( P = 0. 008 and 0. 013, respectively). There was also significant difference in SFCT between the CSC eyes and the fellow eyes (P=0. 021). The SFCT were significantly decreased after PDT (P=0. 032), but with no significant changes after LP or self-cured ( P=0. 057 and 0. 076, respectively).?CONCLUSlON: OCT-EDl is a useful method to assess the choroidal topographic changes of CSC. The SFCT are significantly increased in the CSC eyes compared with that in the fellow eyes and the control eyes.

Objective To investigate the correlation between angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) gene polymorphism and kawasaki disease(KD).Methods A 287 bp Alu fragment in intron 16 of the ACE gene was used as insertion(I)/deletion(D) polymorphism marker. The ACE genotype of 28 children (10 children complicated coronary dilataltion) with KD and 35 healthy controls were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and ACE concentration in blood serum was measured by ultraviolet-spectrophotometer assay. Results 1.The ACE concentration was significantly higher in KD group than that in healthy control group(P

?-arbutin is biosynthesized by whole cell method with Xanthomona maltophilia BT-112.The conditions for cell biosynthesized ?-arbutin are investigated as follows:temperature,25℃;concentration of hydroquinone,30mmol/L;mol ratio of sucrose and hydroquinone,20∶1;time course of ?-arbutin biosynthesis,45 hours;rotational speed,160r/min;concentration of Xanthomona maltophilia BT-112,85g/L;concentration of K-2HPO-4-KH-2PO-4 buffer solution,25mmol/L;pH of K-2HPO-4-KH-2PO-4 buffer solution,8.0.Under the above optimal conditions, the maximum of molar conversion yield based on the amount of hydroquinone supplied reaches 86.7%.

Objective To explore the relationship between free fatty acid(FFA)composition and other glucose and lipid metabolic parameters in patients with metabolic syndrome(MS)in community. Methods Serum FFA profile was measured with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry in 158 patients with varied metabolic syndrome components(MSC),including 61 with MS and 97 at high-risk for MS,and 43 control subjects, with diagnostic criteria by the International Diabetes Federation(IDF).Results Patients with MS had higher parameters of polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)and n6PUFA,as compared to the patients at high risk and normal subjects(P0.05). Among the high-risk group, those with diabetes had increased linoleic acid,n6PUFA and total fatty acid (TFA),and decreased saturated fatty acid(SFA)/TFA,as compared to those without diabetes(P

The content of gamma-aminobutyric acid in the aerial part of Panax notoginseng in different productive area was determined by using high performance liquid chromatography. HPLC analysis was made on a C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm,5 microm) with acetonitrile and water containing 4.1 g x L(-1) sodium acetate as mobile phase. The detection wavelength was 254 nm. The HPLC method showed good linearity within the range of 0.01 - 1.03 g x L(-1). The average recovery of GABA in the stems and leaves of P. notoginseng and the flowers of P. notoginseng was 101.7% (RSD 1.1%, n = 3) and 97.3% (RSD 0.38%, n = 3), respectively. The contents of GABA in the samples of different productive areas were not significant different, and the average contents of GABA in the stems and leaves of P. notoginseng and the flowers of P. notoginseng were 0.49% and 0.53%. This method was simple and reliable, and it was suitable for the determination of gamma-aminobutyric acid in the aerial part of P. notoginseng.

OBJECTIVETo make full use of the plant resources of Panax notoginseng, nutritional compositions and mineral elements were analyzed in aerial part of P. notoginseng from different areas in Yunnan.
METHODUsing the national standard method, water, ash, crude fat, crude fiber, crude protein and mineral elements were determined in aerial part of P. notoginseng from different growing areas.
RESULTResults showed that there were higher contents of crude fiber and crude protein, and lower content of crude fat in the stems and flowers of P. notoginseng. Meanwhile, a large number of mineral elements were determined in two locations of P. notoginseng, and the contents of Zn, Fe, Mn, Ca and Mg were obvious higher among these mineral elements.
CONCLUSIONThis study showed that the stems and flowers of P. notoginseng were nutritious and suggested that the aerial part may be utilized as new resources foods.

Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2015;31(5):452-454
OBJECTIVETo analyze the relationship between the pulse pressure (PP) and atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) in middle-age and eldery paients with hyperensio, so as to provide the basis for the diagnosis and treatment of ARAS.
METHODSWe tetro spectively analyzed the data of 257 patients with hypertension undergoing renal arteriography at General Hospital of PLA between 2009 and 2014. Their mean age was (64.09 +/- 7.81) years. According the results of arteriography, they were divided into two groups: ARAS group (n = 145), and non-ARAS group (n = 112). Their PP and multinomial clinical indexes with ARAS were statistically analyzed.
RESULTSSingle factor correlation and Logisitic analysis showed that age, PP, serum creatinine (SCr) levels, and new onset of hypertension after 50 years of age were strongly positively related to ARAS. The age and PP and SCr was a team of continuous variable.
CONCLUSIONPP was the first new risk factor of ARAS in middile-aged and elderly patients with hypertension. It is suggested that PP may be a early predictive indicator and a new therapeutic target for ARAS.
