Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(07):-
Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effect of danshenfenzhen and nutritional support in treating congestive heart failure accompanied with malnutrition on the basis of common treatment. Methods 42 cas- es of congestive heart failure accompanied with malnutrition were randomly divided into 2 groups:test group 21 cases (danshenfenzhen and nutritional support) and control group 21 cases(free diet),in the test group intravenous drip danshenfenzhen and vein nutrition were given if the internal nutrition can not provide enough energy on the basis of count of energy consumption, the serum albumin, total blood lymph cells and body weight were measured. Results After 14 days' treatment in the test group, the serum albumin, body weight and the total lymph cell increased signifi- cantly while in the control group, the serum albumin, body weight and the total lymph cells decreased significantly. Conclusion Intravenous drip danshenfenzhen and nutritional support can improve nutritional status and cardiac function of patients with congestive heart failure accompanied with malnutrition.

In this article we analyzed the current development of moxibustion treating rheumatoid arthritis from the usefulness, advancement, synergistic effect as well as the variance between different kind of moxibustion. We concluded that moxibustion was an effective intervention for treating RA, and the methods used in moxibustion were searched in clinic. But the clinical tralls has a long way to go, we should pay more attention to the critical issues while in the use of moxibustion.

Objective To investigate the value of the expressions of estrogen receptor(ER)and progesterone receptor(PR)in the cast-off cells from the fluid of latex ductal lavage in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. Methods A total of 58 female out-patients were examined by fiberoptic ductoscopy(FDS).All patients were divided into 6 groups by the complaints, physical examination, ultrasound and FDS:normal group(10 persons without symptoms and abnormalities in any examination),galactostasis group(n=19),latex fill up group(n=11),intraductal papilloma group(n=2),mammary ductal ectasia group(n=7)and contralateral examination after mastectomy for breast cancer group(n=9).A total of 168 ducts were successfully examined by FDS,and the expressions of ER and PR in the cast-off cells were detected among all of the samples. Results The positive rates of ER and PR expression in the cast-off cells from the fluid of latex ductal lavage in benign breast disease groups were much higher than those in normal group(P

OBJECTIVE To study the characteristic of nosocomial pulmonary infection to find out the measures for prevention and control.METHODS The patients with radiation brain injuries(RIB) from Oct 2004 to Jun 2007 underwent retrospective investigation. The reasons and sites of pulmoary infection were analyzed.RESULTS The incidence of pulmonary infection of patients with RIB after radiotherapy was 68.5%.Major factors of infection were bulb palsy, invasive treatment and hormone usage. The Gram-negative bacteria were the predominant pathogens.CONCLUSIONS The nosocomial pulmonary infection is related to many factors.Antibiotic usage according to drug susceptibility results and controlling of the risk factors are important measures to reduce the rate of infection.

Objective To investigate clinical characteristics of tuberous sclerosis(TSC)without nervous system abnormalities in infants. Methods Clinical manifestations of 12 infants with TSC were analyzed. Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM)was performed in 5 of the 12 infants. Two patients underwent histopathological examination and electron microscopic examination. Results The age at first clinic visit for TSC ranged from 2 to 18 months (median, 8.6 months)among these patients. Before occurrence of nervous symptom, TSC mainly manifested as hypomelanotic macules, nodules in the subependymal layer or walls of lateral ventricles of the brain, cardiac rhabdomyoma and multiple renal cysts. RCM revealed intact dermal papillary rings with low reflectivity and obscure boundaries in 5 infants. Histopathological examination showed a local decrease in melanocytes and pigment granules in basal cells. Electron microscopic examination showed a normal number of melanin granules in the cytoplasm of melanocytes in the basal layer. Conclusions Before appearance of nervous system abnormalities, TSC mainly manifests as hypomelanotic macules in infants, and is easily confused with vitiligo in clinic. RCM examination may serve as a useful method to distinguish infant TSC from hypopigmented diseases.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(04):-
Objective To detect genetic alterations in pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA), and to investigate the mechanism of development of this neoplasm. Methods Three patients with PXA were studied. Comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was performed to study chromosomal imbalances in PXA. Using immunohistochemical analysis, the expression of EGFR was detected in PXA. Results Using CGH analysis, genetic imbalance was detected on at least one chromosome for each case. One patient revealed multiple genetic alterations, including gains of 2p14-pter, 4p15-pter, 7p21-qter, 11q24-qter, 12 and 15q14-qter,as well as losses of 8p11.2-pter, 9p11-p23, 10p12-pter, and 13q14-qter. This patient experienced tumor recurrence and died one year later. Gain on Chromosome 7 and loss on Chromosome 8p were demonstrated in 2 of the 3 patients. Immunohistochemically, no EGFR positive reaction was found in all cases. Conclusion Detection of genetic alterations is very important in understanding the pathogenesis of PXA.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), also named as a cancer of cardiovascular disease, is a rare disease and has complicated pathogenesis. Recently, there are more understandings of PAH pathogeneses. According to the pathogenesis and active pathways, the clinically used drugs are classified into several groups incluidng prostacyclin analogues and prostacyclin receptor agonists, endothelin receptor antagonists, phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors, soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitors,

Abstract?AIM: To investigate the influence on blood-retina barrier after intense light exposure in rats.?METHODS: The rats were randomly divided into light exposure group and control group. Rats in light exposure group were exposed in white light (10000lux, 12h on-off, continuing 1-14d) .Rats in control group were only exposed in natural light. The eyes of the rats in the two groups were removed when the rats in light exposure group acceptted intense light after 1, 3, 7 and 14d.We observed the change of retinal structure using hematoxylin-eosin ( HE ) staining, and observed the change of retinal ultrastructure using electron microscope. We quantified the change of retinal vascular permeability using laser scanning confocal fluorescence microscope and spectrophotometry after perfusion of Evans-blue, to evaluate the change of blood-retinal barrier.?RESULTS: At 1d after intense light exposure, the retinal ultrastructure of rats changed, such as denaturation of photoreceptor cells and falling of membranous disc outer segment and thinning of the outer nuclear layer thickness, and so on;and the longer the rats exposure to intense light, the more serious change of the retinal ultrastructure were found. At 3d later, photoreceptor cells began apoptosis. At 14d later, the outer nuclear layer became thinner obviously, and the number of cells reduce obviously. At 1d after intense light exposure, EB leaked from the retinal vascular, and at 14d later the leaking of EB was more obvious.?CONCLUSION: The photoreceptor cell of the outer nuclear layer of retina will degenerate and apoptosis, and the outer nuclear layer will be thinner, and the structure and function of blood-retinal barrier will be destroied, if the eyes of rats exposed in intense light.
