Objective To observe the expressions of stem cell factor(SCF) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor(M-CSF) in bronchoaveolar lavage fluid(BALF) of asthmatic mouse,and the effect of bacillus calmette-guerin(BCG) intervention on them.Methods Thirty Kunming rats were randomly divided into asthmatic group,BCG intervention group and control group,each group had 10 rats.Mice were sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA) to establish asthmatic model.Asthmatic mice were injected intradermally with BCG on 7,3,1 d before sensitization.After 24 h of last challenge,BALF were collected.The total cells and eosinophils(EOS) were counted in the BALF.The SCF and M-CSF levels of BALF were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results The number of total cells and EOS [(27.06?4.25)?107 L-1,(7.58?1.30)?107 L-1]in BALF in asthmatic mice were more than those in control group[(4.93?1.43)?107 L-1,0](Pa0.05).The M-CSF level also increased noticeably in asthmatic mice[(204.30?10.39) ng/L] compared with the control group[(181.33?8.63) ng/L](P

Objective To evaluate therapeutic effect of zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy in patients with cancer and bone metastases. Methods 60 patients with cancer and skeletal me-tastases were devided randomly into tow groups, 30 patients received zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy, 30 patients only received chemotherapy. Cheotherapeutic program of tow groups were same. Results Response rate of bone pain relief was 83. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapeutic group and 56.7% in chemotherapy alone group. Response rate of skeletal metastases was 53. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapy group and 20. 0% in chemotherapy alone group. Response rate of movement capacity improvement was 73. 3% in zoledronic acid combined with chemotherapeutic group and 30. 0% in chemotherapy alone group. At present, the research regarding repair of spinal cord mainly focuses on tissue engineering. Neural tissue engineering materials provide three-dimensional template for tissue regeneration and also environment for synthesis of extracellular matrix. This paper summarizes the types of nerve transplant materials and the research progress in application for treatment of spinal cord injury, so as to provide theoretical evidence for repair of spinal cord injury. But some problems exist in application of nerve cell scaffold materials for repair of spinal cord injury: poor mechanical properties lead to slow degradation speed, causing difficulties in tissue reconstruction with respect to velocity and in subsequent reconstruction of porous three-dimensional scaffold. In recent years, novel biomaterials with specific repair function have been made by the engineering method through combining the biological molecule with specific signal identification function and available materials, which is an advanced projeot in the current field of biomaterials.

BACKGROUND:It is crucial for us to find an objective and sensitive means for the assessment ofthe severitv and development of dementia,so as to make instant diagnosis and examination of therapeutic effect on patientswith vascular dementias(VD).Event related potential endogenetic eomponent P300 is proved closely correlated with the cognitive management of examinees but not with stimulus property,thereby considered as one of the most valuable and objective index for brain superior psychological activity.OBJECTIVE:To study the role and significance of events related potential P300,providing objective basis for clinical diagnosis and therapeutic assessment for patients with VD.DESIGN:Non-randomized simultaneous controlled explorative study based on patients. SETTING:Neurological department and electromyography department in aprovincial hospital and neurological department in a medical college hospital.PARTICIPANTS:Between February 2000 and June 2001,64 patients were of VD at neurological clinic and ward ofthe Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical College,including 38 males and 26 females with theaverage age of(66.0±4.6)years(VD group).Culturallevel:19 cases re-ceiyed over senior school education,31 cases of junior school education and14 cases of illiteracy.Meanwhile 60 inpatients without VD were enrolled(non-VD group)including 35 males and 25 females withthe average age of(68.0±3.7)years.Culturallevel:senior school or above,15 cases,junior school, 29 cases and illiteracy,16 cases.METHODS:Mental sate of both VD and non-VD groups were assessed with mini-mental state examination(MMSE),and tested with P300 potential observing the variability of latency and amplitude of P300 in patients.Both methods were compared between VD group and non-VD group, moreover relationship between P300 latency and MMSE scores was also explored.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Variability of P300 latency and amplitude Relationship between P300 latency and MMSE scores.RESULTS:P300 latency was found prolonged in 74% and 7% of VD group and non-VD group respectively,with obvious significance between them,meanwhile prolonged P300 latency was proved closely correlated with the MMSE scores(r=0.609 6,P＜0.05).CONCLUSION:P300 latency can be considered as an obiective predictor for the earlier diagnosis and the assessment of therapeutic effects in patients with VD.

AIM: To study compatibility rationality of combination of Paeonia lacliflora and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. METHODS: The effective combination of paeoniflorin(44% purity),glycyrrhizic acid(50% purity) and liquorice flavones(52% purity),glycyrrhizic acid(50% purity) and liquorice flavones(52% purity) were respectively administered to rats.Pharmacokinetic change of these constituents in rat blood was studied. RESULTS: The pharmacokinetic parameters of these constituents in rat blood showed that the increases in AUC and C_(max) of effective combination group were more than that of glycyrrhizic acid group or that of liquorice flavones group.T_(max) of the former was extended with respect to the latters.Clearance of effective combination markedly slowed down. CONCLUSION: The effective combination of paeonia lacliflora and Glycyrrhiza uralensis have the advantage of either Paeonia lacliflora or Glycyrrhiza uralensis.

Objective To investigate the expression of p-MNK1 in non-small cell lung cancer and its relationship with clinic pathological features and prognosis.Methods The level of p-MNK1 in 115 cases of nonsmall cell lung cancer was detected by tissue microarray technique and immunohistochemistry technique.Results The level of p-MNK 1 in non-small cell lung cancer was correlated with cancer tissue type (P ＜ 0.05),clinical stage (P ＜ 0.05),lymph node metastasis (P ＜ 0.01) and prognosis (P ＜ 0.05).Cox multiple regression analysis showed that p-MNK1 expression was an independent prognostic factor for non-small cell lung cancer (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The level of p-MNK1 in non-small cell lung cancer is associated with poor prognosis.It can be used as an independent prognostic marker and a new therapeutic target.

Objective To investigate the anticoagultive effectiveness and specialty of sodium citrate comparing with hep- arin in continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF).Methods 50 multiple organ disorder patients undergoing CWHDF were randomly divided into two groups:group A(sodium citrate)27 cases,group B(heparin)23 cases,blood e- lectrolyte,acid-alkali degree,cruor index changes,the blood coagulation of tube path way and blood filter were recor- ded.As the same time,side effects were observed in theraphy.Results The patients of two groups were kept stable vital signs,serum electrolyte and blood gas markers during the therapeutic periods.Moreover,ideal serum creatinine and urea clearance rate and uhrafiltration rate were obtained in all patients.The coagulation and longevity of blood filter of Group A are better than Group B,Group A without sigaificantly prolonged cruor index inside body,the dosage of calcium gluco- nate in Group A are greater than Group B.Conclusion Out body anticongulation of sodium citrate is more effective and reliable than regular heparin anticoagulation.

Objective: To investigate the expression of heat shock response protein(HSP_ 70 ) in human squamous tongue cancer Tca8113 cells during the recovery periods of heat shock.Methods:Tca8113 cells were subjected to heat shock at 43 ℃ for 30 min, then the cells were cultured for 2,4,6,8,12,24 and 48 h respectively.
