2.Clinical Analysis of 38 Cases of Pseudoprecocious Puberty

Objective To study the causes, clinical feature,diagnoses and prognosis of pseudoprecocious puberty. Methods Thirty-eight cases with pseudoprecocious puberty were diagnosed by the serum LH and FSH of GnRHa stimulation test, pelvic ultrasonography and bone age assessment; they were treated and followed up. Results Peaks of LH were(0.49?0.48) IU/L, peaks of FSH were(0.54?0.78) IU/L, the level of E2 in 26 cases increased (36.11?15.70) ng/L,17-hydroxyprogesterone of 1 case was beyond 266 nmol/L. All cases showed hysterauxesis (3.98?1.18) mL. Cases of wrong contraceptive intake were 29,5 cases of McCune-Albright syndrome,2 cases of ovarian cyst, 1 case of ovarian granular cell tumor,1 case of congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Conclusions The causes of pseudoprecocious puberty are multifactors. Early diagnosis,therapy,follow-up are very important for prognosis.

Objective To examine the relationship between plasma homocysteine level and status of congestive heart failure. Methods Plasma homocysteine level was determined in 106 patients with congestive heart failure(CHF).Among them,40 patients were diagnosed as having recent onset of CHF(group 1) and the remaining 66 were receiving conventional treatment(group 2).Thirty healthy subjects were served as a control group. 5.Determination of six chlorogenic acids in lonicerae flos extract by quantitative analysis multi-components with single marker.

This study is to determine six chlorogenic acids (chlorogenic acid, 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 4-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 3,4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 3,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid and 4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid) by quantitative analysis of multi-components with a single marker (QAMS). Chlorogeinc acid was used as internal reference to calculate the relative correction factors (RCF) of five compounds. Then the ruggedness of relative correction factors was tested on different instruments and columns. Meanwhile, a total of 4 batches of Lonicerae Flos and 20 batches of Lonicerae Flos extract with five different processing procedures were analyzed by external standard method (ESM) and QAMS, respectively. The ruggedness of relative correction factors was good. And the analytical results calculated by ESM and QAMS showed no difference. The quantitative method established was suitable for the quality evaluation of Lonicerae Flos extract.

6.Investigation on and analysis of iodine nutritional of targeted population in the high-risk areas of iodine deficiency disorders in Chongqing

Objective To investigate the iodine nutritional status of targeted population in the high-risk areas of iodine deficiency disorders in Chongqing, so as to provide scientific evidence for establishing prevention and remedial measures. Methods Six towns were selected in Chengkou and Wuxi Counties to found suspected dementia patients born after first Jan, 1997. Two hundred children aged 8-10 years were investigated in every town. The thyroid volume, intelligence quotient(IQ) and urinary iodine of the children were examined. Forty women (pregnant and nursing women) were investigated in every town. The iodine content of salt from their home was measured. The thyroid volume was examined by palpation and B-uhrasound. IQ was measured by combined Raven Test in China(CRT-RC2). Urinary iodine was determined using the acid digest arsenic-cerium contacting method, and iodined salt was detected using direct titration method. Results Six suspected dementia patients were found in the local town hospital. Five eases were excluded. There was 1 case born in other place. The rates of goiter by palpation and B-ultrasound were 9.58%(92/960) and 8.89%(65/731), respectively. The median of urinary iodine of children and women was 319.15 μg/L and 248.42 μg/L, respectively. The mean of IQ of the children was 103.32. The coverage rate of iodine salt from residents was 98.82%(336/340). Conclusions The iodine nutrition of children was good and there is no newly occurred cretinism in Chengkou and Wuxi Counties. Goiter rate and median of urinary iodine aged 8-10 years and of women, coverage rate of iodine salt from resident has meet the standard set for basical elimination iodine deficiency disorders.

OBJECTIVETo study differential expression profiles of ribosomal protein (RP) genes in healthy subjects and ulcerative colitis (UC) patients of Pi-asthenic syndrome (PAS) and of dampness-heat syndrome (DHS), thus providing experimental bases for " Pi as the source of qi and blood" theory from the view of protein synthesis.
METHODSRP genes arrays were made. The mucous membrane of colon was detected in four UC patients of PAS (UC-PAS), four UC patients of DHS (UC-DHS), and four healthy subjects (N), and data analyzed using BRB-TOOL Software Package (3.9). Bioinformatics analyses were conducted in differential genes.
RESULTSLow-density RP gene chips were successfully produced, including 77 RP genes and two RP like genes (RPL26-like1 and RPL7-like1). There were twelve differential genes between UC (PAS+DHS) and N, all of which were down-regulated genes. There were nineteen differential genes between UC-DHS and N, all of which showed down-regulating tendency. There were three differential genes between UC-PAS and N, all of which were down-regulated genes. There were six differential genes between UC-PAS and UC-DHS, all of which were up-regulated genes. Cluster analysis showed that normal and UC samples of this chip can be classified according to gene expression profiles, and UC-PAS and UC-DHS can be classified by clustering. Various differential genes had a common transcription regulatory factor.
CONCLUSIONSRP genes arrays were successfully produced. RP gene expressions were down-regulated in UC-PAS and UC-DHS. Corresponding gene expression profiles were shown in N, UC-PAS and UC-DHS.

9.Methodology of measuring induced postnatal fetal long bones

Objective To investigate the effects of different standard cross sections and angles on the measurement accuracy of induced postnatal fetal long bones. Methods Fetal long bones (femori and humeri) in 30 cases with induced abortion were measured utilizing ultrasound from different angles and /or at different directions. The values measured from different sections and angles with vernier calipers were compared prenatally and postnatally. Results There was no apparent difference between the pre-induced abortion and those of the post-induced abortion. The results in the 30 cases showed that: (1) the values measured from anterior 90 degree, the long bone length would best match with the bare long bone length up to 96.7%, the match rate of other angles and/or directions was up to 80%; (2) no apparent statistical difference was between the length of left and right bone and no difference was found using 4 different directions and 3 different angles; (3)there was no difference between the left and right femuri and humeri.Conclusions Though the measured value from anterior 90 degree direction was the most accurate one, the statistical analtical results showed no difference among 12 values measured from 3 different angles and/or 4 different directions.
