In principle, the nonspecific therapy of endogenous uveitis is of symptomatic and indirect method, and has no effect on the cause of the disease. The author explained conventional therapy in brief and reviewed basic consideration, principles of administration, and the method and dosage of treatment in hormonal therpy.

The Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada's syndrome (V-K-H) is chronic bilateral exudative uveitis associated with whitening of the hair and eye-lashes and various signs of meningeal iritation. Wereviewed some of the characteristic clinical findings of V-K-H syndrome as well as the histopathologic feature.

We performed standard pars plana vitrectomies in 17 eyes with uveitis which were complicated with vitreous opacities. Postoperatively, visual acuity was improved in 11 eyes(64.7%),maintained in4 eyes(23.5%) and decreased in 2 eyes (11.8%). Four weeks after vitrectomy, inflammatory cells were rarely noticed in the anterior vitreous of all eyes. We suggest that early surgical approach is of value for visual improvement in the management of uvitis eyes with vitreous opacity.

Optic disc neovascularization is known to occur in occlusive vascular diseases or chronic posterior inflammatory conditions. It has been recently reported to occur in chronic anterior uveitis. The authors treated a patient with optic disc neovascularization associated with chronic anterior uveitis with topical and systemic steroid administration. The authors present our experience of optic disc neovascularization in chronic anterior uveitis with a brief review of the literatures related to this disease.

Both clinical and experimental evidence suggest that immunological mechanisms are involved in the pathogenesis of endogenous uveitis. We have analyzed the percentages of T cell, B cell, T cell subpopulations(OKT4, OKT8) and OKT4/OKT8 a in seventeen patients diagnosed clinically as uveitis. The results were as follows; 1. The percentages of T cell and B cell in peripheral blood were 53.0% and 21.1% respectively. 2. The percentages of OKT4 and OKT8 and OKT4/OKT8 were 49.4%, 29.0% and 2.0 respectively, and those were in normal ranges.

17 cases of luxation and subluxation of the lens due to the acute uveitis received an operation for removal of lens and implantation of the artificial lens in the posterior chamber and fixation of it in the sclera during 1993-1997. The monitoring duration was 3 years. The results of anatomy and tolerance were good. The rate of patients with vision improvement after 3 years of operation was 100% in which 57.14% of patient had vision ability of 0.1-0.6. This depended mainly on the treatment of visual insufficiency after operation.
