Reccent investigations demonstrated that genetically modified tumor cells could be used as vaccines against cancer. In this light, we introduced human interleukin -2 (IL-2) gene into a poorly immunogenic rat fibrosarcoma cell line WBT, a human lung abenocarcinoma cell line AGZY and a highly metastatie sub - cell line Anip973 derived from AGZY. The transduced cells showed no obvious changes in morphology, growth and colony - forming ability in soft agar.Transduction with IL-2 gene rendered the cells more sensitive than the parental cells and cells transduced with NeoR gene alone to the lysis by cytotoxic lymphocytes. High levels of IFN and TNF were detected in the supernatants of cocultured lymphocytes and tumor cells containing IL-2 gene. Tumorigenicity of WBT/IL-2 cells was greatly reduced in syngeneic rats. Metastatic capacity of Anip973 in nude mice was blocked by the transduction of IL-2 gene, but not the transduction of NeoR gene alone. Inoculation of WBT/IL-2 cells conferred rats resistance to the challenge of parental WBT cells.Splenocytes from WBT/IL-2-inoculated rats restimulated with WBT cells in vitro showed high CTL activity against WBT cells. Our results demonstrated the potential application of tumor cells transduced with IL— gene as active vaccine against cancer.

Objective:Combined laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in the diagnosis and therapy of the female infertity is and advanced means in the gynecologcial field.We analysed the causes and the treatments of the 71 infertile patients.Pelvic adhesions,endometrosis and salpingtis were the main causes of infertity in our 71 cases.Of 71 cases,29 cases were primary infertity,in whichc endometriosis,PCOS and anatomic uterine defect were the main causes,and 42 cases were secondary infertity,in which 35 cases (83%) had previous intrauterine operations.All the patients were treated for the causes.We concluded that combined laparoscopy and hysteroscopy can diagnose the causes of infertity and can observe the tubal patency by hysteroscopic tubal cathertetization and hydrotubation,which will direct the treatments and estimate the results of the therapy.Methods:Infertity;Combined Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy.

Objective To define whether correlation exists between the enlargement of lateral ventricles and motor development delay. Methods Motor development was assessed with Peabody Developmental Motor Scale (PDMS) in 28 children with cerebral palsy. Correlation between computerized tomography (CT) findings of enlargement of lateral ventricles (ventricle index,body index,width index and frontal horn index) and motor quotients of PDMS(GMQ,FMQ and TMQ) was analyzed. Objective To investigate and analyze the requirement for health education during and after hospitalizadon of patients with cerebral apoplexy.Methods 150 sober patients with cerebral apoplexy from department of neurology were investigated by questionnaires and the results were analyzed. Results The education content that most patients wanted to understand during hospitalization was treatment method and limbs activity(83.6%and 82.2%);The health education style that they prefered was to communicate directly with doctors and nurses(74.0%);The education content after hospitalization that most patients required was self-nursing knowledge.clinical manifestation and first aid when relapse(90.4%,87.7%and 87.7%).The health education style that they most needed after hospitalization Was that Some reference books would he recommended to them (56.2%).The time choice for health education was consultation whenever they had problems.Conclusion Medical workers should supply selective education and instruction according to the health education requirement and style at different stages of patients with cerebral apoplexy.

The expressions of matrix metalloproteinnse-9 (MMP-9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) ,and NF-κB in 157 cases of papillary thyroid cancer and 30 cases of papillary thyroid tumors were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. The expressions of MMP-9 and NF-κB protein and mRNA in papillary thyroid cancers were significantly higher than those in benign tumors (all P <0.01), and increased according to the pathological grading (P<0.01). The expressions of MMP-9 and NF-κB protein and mRNA in papillary thyroid cancers with cervical lymph node metastasis were higher than those without metastasis (both P <0.01). The expressions of TIMP-1 protein and mRNA appeared an opposite direction of MMP-9 expression.

Objective　To explore left atrial(LA) structur e and function changes in 86 cases of essential hypertension disease (EH) and ef fects of age,gender,hypertension duration,hypertension stage and left ventricula r function on them.Methods　 Using M-mode echocardiogram to detect LA diameter, Usi ng ultrasonic acoustic quantification (AQ) to detect LA area,LA systolic and dia stolic function,LV systolic and diastolic function. Results　①Compared with normal group, LA diameter and LA area we re larger in EH group, LA systolic and diastolic function were impaired. ② Gend er had no effect on LA structure and functione in EH patients; LA diameter and L A area dilated with age, LA systolic function was impaired with age. ③ Hyperten sion duration had no effect on LA structure and function in EH patients. ④LA d iameter and area dilated with hypertension stage. With the development of hypert ension, LA diastolic function was first impaired,then LA systolic function was a lso impaired.⑤LA structure and function had signifficant relationship with LV d iastolic function, LA might dilate and LA systolic function might be impaired wi th LV diastolic function damage.Conclusions　LA diameter and LA area are dilated and LA function i s impaired in EH patients, which changes become more signifficant with age. LA s tructure change and systolic function impairment have a relationship with LV dia stolic dysfunction.
