OBJECTIVE:To optimize the preparation technology of Angelica sinensis powder and conduct screening for the op-timal particle size thereof. METHODS:With the contents of volatile oil and ferulic acid as the indexes, screening was conducted for the optimal drying temperature, dry welding time and particle size of the crude drug A. sinensis, and the stabilities of the A. si-nensis powder with different particle sizes which was packed by simulating that sold in the market were investigated. The verifica-tion tests on the preparation technology were conducted. RESULTS:The optimal conditions for preparing the crude drug A. sinensis were as follows as drying temperature of 60-70℃,drying for 4.5-5 hours and being crushed into moderate-sized powder;the stabil-ity of the moderate-sized powder which was packed by simulating that sold in the market was the best. In the verification tests on the preparation technology, the average content of the volatile oil was 0.46 ml/g,with RSD of 0.034%(n=3);the average con-tent of the ferulic acid was 0.123 μg/ml,with RSD of 0.026%(n=3). CONCLUSIONS:The optimized technology is stable and feasible, and the stability of the moderate-sized A. sinensis powder is the best.

Forty-eight men with normal glucose tolerance were divided into fatty liver disease ( NAFLD, n =23 ) and non-NAFLD (n =25 ) groups. The blood glucose excursion was evaluated by continuous glucose monitoring system. The results showed that the mean amplitude of glucose excursion[MAGE, (2. 17± 1.13 vs 1.45±0. 42 )mmol/L]and standard deviation of blood glucose[SDBG, (0. 88 ±0. 45 vs 0. 61 ±0. 21 ) mmol/L]were significantly higher in NAFLD group than in non-NAFLD group( both P<0. 05 ). MAGE and SDBG were positively correlated with body mass index, waist circumference, and the increased value of plasma glucose 0. 5 h after glucose loading( △G30,all P<0. 05 ). In multiple regression analysis, △G30, waist circumference, and age were significant independent predictors for MAGE( P<0. 05 or P<0. 01 ). △G30 and waist circumference were significant independent predictors for SDBG( P<0. 05 or P<0. 01 ).

To reveal the characterization of interaction between Chinese and western medicinal injections, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) was applied to evaluating the interaction of Yiqi Fumai injection (YQFM, as mode drug) with epinephrine hydrochloride injection (YS) and 5% glucose injection (5% GS). The diversification of Gibbs free energy (ΔG), enthalpy (ΔH), and entropy (ΔS) were determined to judge the reaction types of colliquefaction procedures of different injections. Meanwhile, the fingerprints of YQFM before and after combined with the various injections were compared to validate the results. This work demonstrated that during the titration procedure of YQFM and YS, [ΔH] > T [ΔS] , that was to say the reaction was enthalpy-driving. And the reactive profile indicated that a great deal of heat gave out during the procedure. Obviously, chemical reactions happened and the internal component changed. On the other side, the reaction of YQFM combined with 5% GS was entropy-driving, because [ΔH] < T [ΔS]. The reactive profile showed there was only a little heat released. So non-chemical reactions happened and the major ingredients did not change. ITC could be applied to the evaluation on compatibility of other kinds of Chinese and western medicinal injection combination.

OBJECTIVETo compare biomechanical effect of the closed fracture model with intramedullary nail fixation and the open fracture model with plate fixation in rats.
METHODSForty 8-week-old Spragu-Dawley male rats were divided into two groups randomly. Left femoral shaft closed fractures model was created in 20 rats, and treated with intramedullary nail. Other 20 rats received open osteotomy on the left femoral shaft, and were fixed by plate. Rats were sacrificed and draw the materials at 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks in batch. Across section area and volume of callus were measured, peak load, restoration rate of peak load were tested. The biomechanical efficency of two methods of femoral shaft fracture fixation were compared.
RESULTSThe difference of surgical duration was statistically significant between two groups (P < 0.001). At 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks, the difference of peak load, restoration rate of peak load, volume and area of callus was also statistically significant between two groups (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONOpen fracture model with plate fixation led to delayed healing compared with closed fracture model with intramedullary nail. However, open fracture model with plate fixation model could be a valuable research tool to study the healing consequences of cortical bone, which may provide insight into the pathogenesis and ideal treatment of fractures or nonunions.

Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2009;30(12):1273-1276
OBJECTIVESince the advent in 2004 of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in Liaoning, a dramatic improvement had been seen in the number of patients attaining undetectable viral loads (92/104), but the extent of mutation diversity on human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) and the prevalence of drug resistance had remained elusive. This study aimed to analyze both HIV-1 mutation profiles and prevalence related to antiretroviral resistance following therapeutic failure.
METHODSA total of 104 blood samples circling Liaoning from HAART-treated between 2004 and 2008 were studied. Patients' CD(4)(+) T-cell count and viral load were determined. HIV-1 pol (PR and part of RT) gene fragments were amplified from patients' plasma by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and nest-PCR, subsequently sequenced and analyzed.
RESULTSCD(4)(+) T cell numbers and viral replication capacity were assessed. 88.4% (92/104) of the patients were successful after initial non-suppressive NRTI & NNRTI-based HAART regimens. Subjects on non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) regimens developed more (6/104) drug-resistance mutations than those on nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) regimens did (5/104). No protease-inhibitor (PI) drug resistance mutations developed. The whole rate of drug resistance mutations was about 6.73%. Subjects developing NNRTI-resistance (NNRTI-R) seemed more likely to develop drug-resistant viremia than with NRTI-based HAART.
CONCLUSIONThis finding might have implications in which that the prevalence of drug-resistance mutations was low but remained risk of transmission in HIV-infected therapeutic failure. Meanwhile, data from the present study showed that there was a high frequency of primary mutations, which offered resistance to nrti and nnrti. Monitoring patients with treatment failure seems an important tool in helping the physicians to improve their treatment schedule and to carry out epidemiological surveillance programs.

Objective:To investigate the influencing factors associated with lesion residual after minimally invasive rotary mastectomy for breast masses and to construct a predictive model using columnar plots. Methods:Two hundred and twenty-eight patients with Breast lumps in Linyi People’s Hospital from Jun. 2018 to Jun. 2020 were selected as study subjects, all of whom underwent minimally invasive rotational resection, and the influencing factors of postoperative lesion residual were analyzed using univariate and multifactorial analysis, and a column line graph risk warning model was constructed and given for evaluation and validation.Results:228 patients were followed up for 6 months after surgery, 3 cases were lost, 225 cases completed postoperative follow-up, among which 185 cases (82.22%) had successfully resected lesions; 40 cases (17.78%) had residual lesions. Univariate, logistic regression analysis showed that tumor diameter ( t=15.52, P<0.001) , lesion morphology ( t=15.52, P<0.001) , lesion boundary ( χ2=7.71, P=0.006) , ultrasound guidance ( χ2=12.69, P<0.001) , and minimally invasive spinotomy system ( χ2=10.64, P=0.001) were the factors influencing lesion residual after minimally invasive spinotomy of breast masses. Based on the above factors to construct a column line graph model of lesion residual after minimally invasive rotational mastectomy for breast lumps, the area under the working characteristic curve (ROC) for model subjects was 0.974 (95% CI: 0.954-0.994) , indicating that the calibration curve basically matched the actual curve; external validation of the model showed that the area under the obtained ROC was 0.962 (95% CI: 0.933-0.991) , indicating that the model has a high degree of calibration. Conclusion:Tumor diameter, lesion morphology, lesion boundary, ultrasound guidance, and minimally invasive spinotomy system are the influencing factors of lesion residual after minimally invasive spinotomy for Breast lumps, and the column line graph model prediction of lesion residual occurring after surgery constructed based on the above factors has good confidence.
