3.Expression of CD44_S and CD44_(V6) in human ameloblastoma

Objective: To study expression of CD44 S and CD44 V6 in ameloblastoma (AB) and odontogenic keratocyst (OKC) . Methods: S-P method was used to detect CD44 S protein in 77 cases of AB (32 of primary, 39 of recurrent,6 of malignant), 19 cases of OKC and 12 cases of oral normal mucosa;and CD44 V6 protein in 61 cases of AB (24 of primary , 31 of recurrent and 6 of malignant), 19 cases of OKC and 12 cases of oral normal mucosa. Results: Expression of CD44 S and CD44 V6 were detected in cell membrane of stratum spinosum and stratum basale in normal oral mucosa. In 19 cases of OKC, loss of expression of CD44 S was detected in 10 cases, and loss of integrity of CD44 V6 expression was detected in 15 cases. Loss ration of expression and abnormal expression ratio of CD44 S in AB were 27.3% and 63.6%, respectively. That of CD44 V6 in AB were 11.5% and 50.8% respectively. ?Color vision has been an important part of the human visual function.It is determined by the phytochrome of cone.In many clinical cases of ocular fundus diseases, patients had color vision loss, which shows that color visions tests is necessary and meaningful.At present, doctors have not paid attention to it and adopt the tests rarely. The article summarizes the tests of color in common use and applications on the diagnosis and treatment for common ocular fundus diseases to be a theory basis.

7.Analysis of risk factors for stroke-associated pneumonia

Clinical data of 595 patients of stroke admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, Dalian, Liaoning were analyzed retrospectively, 310 (52. 1% ) of them with strokeassociated pneumonia (SAP). Early-onset pneumonia occurred in 225 patients (72.6%), and late-onset pneumonia in 85 (27.4%). Patients with length of hospital-stay equal to or more than two weeks accounted for (113 cases) 50. 3% of those with early-onset pneumonia, whereas patients with length of hospital-stay less than one week (60 cases) accounted for 70. 6% of those with late-onset pneumonia. Age above 65 years ( OR = 1. 037 ), diabetes ( OR = 1. 724), Glasgow coma scores equal to or less than eight ( OR = 0. 098 ),nasal feeding ( OR = 6. 640 ), administration of gastric mucosal protective drugs ( OR = 3. 581 ) and antibiotic prophylaxis ( OR = 2. 433) all were risk factors for SAP.

9.Relationship between the expression of EGFR,C-erbB-2 proteins and the lung metastatic potential of salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma cell lines

Objective:To investigate the expressions of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and C-erbB-2 in two salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma cell lines with different metastatic potential. Methods:Salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma SACC-83 cell line and its lung metastatic cell line SACC-LM were cultured in vitro, their cytoplasm and membrane samples were extracted, and the expressions of EGFR and C-erbB-2 were detected by Western blot, the results were quantitatively analyzed by FluorChem V2.0 software.Results:EGFR expression level in cell membrane was higher than that in cytoplasm(P0.05) in both cell lines.Conclusion:Higher EGFR expression in cytoplasm and higher C-erbB-2 expression may be related to the metastatic potential of SACC-LM cells.
10.The construction and investigation of PLGA artificial bone by biomimetic mineralization.

To modify the surface property of poly lactide-co-glycolide (PLGA) by biomimetic mineralization to construct a new kind of artificial bone. PLGA films and 3-diamensional (3-D) porous scaffolds hydrolyzed in alkaline solution were minerilized in SBF for 14 days. The morphology and composition of the mineral grown on PLGA were analyzed with SEM, FTIR and XRD. The porosity of the scaffolds was detected by using the liquid displacement method. The compressive strength of the scaffolds was detected by using a Shimadzu universal mechanic tester. An obvious mineral coating was detected on the surface of films and scaffolds. The main component of the mineral was carbonated hydroxyapatite (HA) similar to the major mineral component of bone tissues. The porosity of the un-mineralized and mineralized porous scaffolds was (84.86 +/- 8.52) % and (79.70 +/- 7.70) % respectively. The compressive strength was 0.784 +/- 0.156 N/mm2 in un-mineralized 3-D porous PLGA and 0.858 +/- 0.145 N/mm2 in mineralized 3-D porous PLGA. There were no significant differences between the mineralized and un-mineralized scaffolds (P > 0.05) in porosity and biomechanics. Biomimetic mineralization is a suitable method to construct artificial bone.
