Objective To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis of congenital pulmonary artery sling (PAS) in children. MethodsThe clinical data of 38 children diagnosed with PAS during June 2009 and February 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. ResultsIn 38 PAS children, 35 cases (89.47%) were hospitalized for varying degrees of respiratory manifestations with recurrent cough (89.47%) and wheezing (84.21%) being the most common. The remaining 3 cases were found abnormal in routine preoperative examination and the diagnosis was confirmed after further examination. All 38 children were performed computer tomography angiography (CTA). Thirty-seven cases were diagnosed of PAS and diagnostic rate was 97.37%. One case was suspected of pulmonary dysplasia and diagnosed of PAS after operation. Twenty-six children received surgical treatment, of whom 25 children had pulmonary artery reconstruction (LPA). Seven children died during/after operation and 18 survived. The remaining 12 children received non-surgical treatment, of whom 9 died and 3 survived.ConclusionCardiac uhrasonography may reveal PAS in the early stage, while CTA is the best method for conifrmed diagnosis. LPA reconstruction is an important means of relieving left pulmonary artery oppression.

Objective To investigate the regulating effects of Zuogui Jiangtang Jieyu Formula (ZJJF) on Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-8 in hippocampus neuron damage in diabetes mellitus with depression (DD). Methods Hippocampal neurons from 18 d pregnant rats were primitively cultivated, and then combination of glucose and corticosterone was used to construct DD simulation environment. Cultivated hippocampal neurons were randomly divided into normal group, blank serum group, model group, positive medicine (metformin+fluoxetine) serum group and to-be-tested medicine (ZJJF) serum group. Normal group and model group were given same amount culture medium, while other group were given relevant amont of 10% medicine serum or blank serum. After modeling intervention for 18 h,Hoechst staining was used to detect the apoptosis of hippocampal neurons. The expression of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-8 was detected by high content analysis. Results Compared with the control group, hippocampal neuron dendrites ruptured or decreased, neural network connection decreased, cells showed significant staining, broken, uneven distribution of light spots, the expression of Bcl-2 protein decreased significantly (P<0.05), but Bax and Caspase-8 were increased (P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the model group, hippocampal neurons in both positive medicine serum group and ZJJF serum group gradually recovered. Hoechst staining showed that the nuclei were significantly homogenized, local highlights were significantly reduced, Bcl-2 protein expression levels were significantly increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), while Bax and Caspase-8 were obviously down-regulated (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion ZJJF has protective effects on hippocampal neurons in DD of model rats, and its mechanism is related to regulating the expression of Bcl-2, Bax and Caspase-8 in hippocampus neuron.

Objective To evaluate the clinical benefits and safety of endoscopic thyroidectomy via bilat -eral-nipple approach and breast approach by comparison with conventional open thyroidectomy .Methods 59 pa-tients undergoing open thyroidectomy , 76 patients undergoing endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast approach , and 122 patients undergoing endoscopic thyroidectomy via bilateral-nipple approach were retrospectively analyzed . Patients'age, operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, the first day drainage volume after operation , postop-erative hospital stay , the incidence of complications , pain visual analogue score ( VAS) , postoperative satisfaction rate as well as the evaluation of cosmetic results were compared among different groups .Results No significant difference was observed in the intraoperative blood loss and the postoperative hospital stay among different groups . The operation duration and the first day drainage volume after operation in the endoscopic thyroidectomy groups ((103.5 ±26.2)min vs (108.1 ±23.9)min,(106.5 ±31.0)ml vs (117.4 ±38.8)ml)were significantly high-er than those in the open thyroidectomy group((65.3 ±22.4)min and (50.5 ±23.8)ml)(P<0.05, respective-ly).No significant difference was observed in the complication incidence among different groups .On the first day after operation, VAS of the endoscopic thyroidectomy groups (2.8 ±0.4 vs 2.9 ±0.4)was significantly lower than that of the open thyroidectomy group(3.8 ±0.6)(P<0.05, respectively), even though on the second and the third day no significant difference was observed among different groups .Besides, postoperative satisfaction rate and the evaluation of cosmetic results in endoscopic thyroidectomy groups were significantly higher than those in the open group(P<0.05, respectively).Furthermore, 90 days after operation, the satisfaction rate and the eval-uation of cosmetic results in the endoscopic thyroidectomy group through bilateral -nipple approach (96.7%,8.8 ± 0.9)were significantly higher than those in the endoscopic thyroidectomy group through breast approach (92.1%, 7.3 ±0.7)(P<0.05, respectively). Conclusions Endoscopic thyroidectomy is a feasible and safe procedure . Endoscopic thyroidectomy through bilateral-nipple approach has a higher long-term satisfaction rate as well as bet-ter cosmetic results , which is an ideal choice of thyroidectomy .

Objective To investigate the effect and possible signal pathway of brain - derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) on apoptosis of rat embryo brain cells suffering from intrauterine hypoxic - ischemic injury. Methods The uterine arteries of the pregnant rats were clamped for 30 minutes in both experimental group and control group. BDNF(2 ?g) was injected into rats in experimental group while saline was injected into rats in control group through caudal veins. The samples were collected at 24, 48 and 72 hours re-spectively after artery clamping. Neuroapoptosis of different groups induced by ischemic damage was measured by TUNEL assay. The expression of extracellular signal - regulated kinase(ERK)and c - Jun - N - terminal kinase(JNK) were observed by immunohisloche-mistry.Results The number of apoptosis cells after hypoxic - ischemic injury increased progressively with time. The apoptosis cells number in experimental group were much lower in number than those of ischemic control group. The expression of ERK increased while the expression of JNK decreased in experimental group, comparing with that of the ischemic control group, with statistical signif-icance (P
