Objective The study aimed to investigate the effect of lipoxin A4 (LXA4) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)?induced oxidant stress in human renal tubular epithelial cells (HK2 cells) and possible underlying mecha?nisms. MethodsHK2 cells were divided into three groups: Control ,LPS and LPS+LXA4 groups. After cells were treated with indicated conditions, morphological changes were observed. The expressions of Nrf2 were detected by immunofluorescence and cells were collected for RT?PCR experiments. Results HK2 cells seemed disrupted and necrotic with the administration of LPS. However ,LXA4 could prevent cells from injury induced by LPS. LPS decreased Nrf2 expression and promoted it to translocate to cytoplasm ,while LXA4 could increase its expression and promote it to translocate to nucleus. Moreover ,LPS could decrease Nrf2 and its downstream molecule mRNA expressions, but LXA4 could reverse this effect. Conclusion Our results demonstrated that LXA4 effectively inhibit?ed HK2 cell oxidant stress via Nrf2 pathway.

Objective To study the application effect of health education guided by the theory of cross-theoretical model in the training of the first aid training in the basic units of the plateau. Methods Choosing 386 long-term presence of plateau soldiers, and divided them into the control group and the experimental group, the control group was educated by traditional method, in the experimental group, the health education was carried out with the trans-theoretical model, nursing experts gave them targeted intervention. The number of groups at each stage was analyzed in different stages, the same to examination results and pass rate. Results After 6 months of intervention, there was a significant improvement in the mastering of the battlefield Five emergency technology of the experimental group and the scores were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Theoretical results showed that pass rate of the control group was 89.1%(172/193), the experimental group was 99.5%(192/193), the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (χ2=7.129, P=0.039). In the survey of technical operation, ventilation, hemostasis, bandaging, fixing and handling examination pass rate of the control group respectively were 88.1%(170/193), 89.1%(172/193), 89.1%(172/193), 88.1%(170/193), 88.6%(171/193), the experimental group were 99.5%(192/193), 97.9%(189/193), 99.5%(192/193), 96.9%(187/193), 97.4%(188/193), there were significant differences between the two groups (χ2=7.896-12.759, P=0.001-0.043). Conclusions Cross theoretical model has good effect on the application ofFiveemergency technology training in the high altitude troops battlefield, and can effectively improve the troops self- help and mutual aid capabilities, it is worthy of popularization and application.

Objective To assess the therapeutic strategies and prognostic factors that influence clinical outcome of malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the abdomen. Methods Between Jul 1980 and Nov 2003, 51 intraabdominal MFH patients undergoing resection were retrospectively analyzed. Results Postoperative recurrence developed in 35 patients, with local recurrence in 15 (29. 4% ) , distant metastasis in 20, including lung metastasis in 8 ( 15. 7% ) , liver metastasis in 4(7. 8% ) , and bone metastasis in 6 ( 11. 7% ). The 1-, 3- and 5-year disease-free survival rate was 70. 6% , 43. 1% and 29. 4% , respectively, and the 1-, 3- and 5-year cumulative survival rate was 74. 5% , 52. 9% and 31. 4% , respectively. Conclusions Intraabdominal MFH is a rare entity with high biological aggressiveness and high metastasis potential. Surgical resection has generally been accepted as the treatment of choice for MFH, at the same time, there appears to be a role for radiation therapy, in combination with surgery for better local control, particularly in high-grade lesions.

BACKGROUND: Nitric oxide (NO) is synthesized by catalysis of nitric oxide synthase (NOS). Three distinct isoforms of NOS have been detected in different structures of the guinea pig cochlea. However, there are still rather controversies about the definite localization and expression of NOS isoforms in guinea pig cochlea.OBJECTIVE: To investigate localization and expression of three NOS isoforms in the cochlea of guinea pigs, and to explore the effect of NO on auditory physiology and pathophysiology of inner ear.DESIGN: An observed and controlled study.SETTING: Department of Physiology, Jinzhou Medical College; Department of Orthopedics, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou; Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Jinzhou Central Hospital.MATERIALS: The study was performed in Hearing Research Laboratory of China Medical University from May to November 2000. Ten healthy male albino guinea pigs, with body mass of 250-300 g, with sensitive Preyer's reflexes and normal drum membrane and external auditory canal, were selected.METHODS: After anesthesia, guinea pigs were decapitated and the temporal bones were removed immediately. The round and oval windows were opened, perfused with 40 g/L paraformaldehyde, and the specimens were immersed in the same fixative solution for 2 hours. Decalcification of the cochleae was performed in 100 g/L EDTA solution for 1 week. Then the specimens were placed in 250 g/L sucrose solution overnight and embedded in OCT. Cryostat (20 μm) sections were prepared for immunohistochemistry.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Localization and expression of three NOS isoforms in the cochlea of guinea pigs.RESULTS: All data of ten guinea pigs was entered the final analysis without any loss. [1] Neuronal-type nNOS and endothelial-type eNOS immunoreactivity were localized in inner and outer hair cells of the organ of Corti, as well as in spiral ganglion cells. In addition, staining for nNOS and eNOS were also seen in the marginal cells of stria vascularis, spiral ligament cells, and in nerve fibers. [2] Inducible-type iNOS immunoreactivity was also detected in above each structure of the guinea pig cochlea under physiological conditions.CONCLUSION:NO may play an important role in neurotransmission, blood flow regulation, and cytotoxicity.
