1.Free submental flap for defects reconstruction after oral cancer ablation

Objective To investigate the clinical application of free submental flap for defects reconstruction after oral cancer ablation.Methods Eleven cases of free submental flaps for defects reconstruction after oral cancer ablation from April,2013 to May,2014 were reviewed.The primary disease,defect type,flap side,flap size and flap survival rate were recorded.The follow-up data of tumor recurrence,lymph node metastasis,as well as postoperative facial appearance and function of marginal mandibular branch of facial nerve were collected.Results Primary disease of all 11 cases was oral squamous cell carcinoma.No flap failure was reported and the overall flap survived.The follow-up period was 6-18 months with the average of 9 months.There was no tumor recurrence and metastasis of lymph node.Postoperative facial appearance was satisfactory and there was no nerve injury of marginal mandibular branch which showed normal and symmetrical expression motion.Conclusion Free submental flap owns many ad vantages including constant anatomy,long vascular pedicle,wide range of indications and low donor-site morbidity.Contralater submental flap may avoid potential lymph node metastasis.Free submentai flaps is an ideal choice for reconstruction of oral and maxillofacial defects after cancer ablation.
2.Design, synthesis and antidiabetic activity of novel tetrahydrocarboline PPAR regulators.

A series of novel tetrahydrocarboline derivatives was designed and synthesized in order to discover more potent peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) alpha/gamma dual regulators. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR and HR-MS; their PPAR-regulating activities were evaluated in vitro. Compounds 6h, 6n, 6p and 6q exhibited more potent PPARalpha agonistic activities than the control drug WY14643, while compounds 60, 6g, 6i and 6q exhibited more potent PPARgamma agonistic activities than the control drug rosiglitazone. Compound 6q was discovered as a potent PPARalpha/gamma dual agonist and deserves further investigation.
3.A modeling method for human standing balance system based on T-S fuzzy identification.

In order to develop safe training intensity and training methods for the passive balance rehabilitation train- ing system, we propose in this paper a mathematical model for human standing balance adjustment based on T-S fuzzy identification method. This model takes the acceleration of a multidimensional motion platform as its inputs, and human joint angles as its outputs. We used the artificial bee colony optimization algorithm to improve fuzzy C--means clustering algorithm, which enhanced the efficiency of the identification for antecedent parameters. Through some experiments, the data of 9 testees were collected, which were used for model training and model results validation. With the mean square error and cross-correlation between the simulation data and measured data, we concluded that the model was accurate and reasonable.

4.Design of Military Certificated Doctors Management System Based on No.1 Military Medical Porject

Objective To manage the information of examination, certification and registration of doctors in the organizations of medical treatment, prevention and health care. Methods A software was developed by using the client/server model and object-oriented technique on the basis of experiences from many years of hard working in military hospital. Results Because of the successful design and application of the software, the whole military certificated doctors information database was established for trends tracking management of all military certificated doctors' information by general departments. Conclusion The database management and developing technique are the same as those of No.1 Military Medical System. It is very practical.
5.Research on the promoting role of apelin-13 in proliferation, migration and capillary-like tube formation of RF/6A cells

AIM: To investigate the effects of apelin-13 on proliferation, migration and capillary-like tube formation of a monkey choroid / retinal endothelial cell line, RF/6A, to clarify whether apelin-13 could promote retinal angiogenesis in vitro.METHODS: RF/6A cells in good conditions were administrated with DMSO (the control group), apelin-13 at 0.1μmol/L (low dose group) or apelin-13 at 1μmol/L (high dose group).Cell proliferation, migration and capillary-like tube formation were detected by using the MTT assay, scratch assay and matrigel assay, respectively, at 24h after plating the cells.RESULTS: Cell proliferation was promoted in both low and high dose apelin-13 groups compared to the control cells (P<0.05);the cell migration distance of both apelin-13 groups was significantly greater than that of the control group (P<0.05);and the number of capillary-like tube structures of both apelin-13 groups was significantly larger than that of the control cells (P<0.05).In addition, cell proliferation, migration and tube formation increased as the concentration of apelin-13 increased.CONCLUSION: Apelin-13 could obviously promote the angiogenesis capacity of RF/6A cells, suggesting that apelin-13 was an important pro-angiogenic factor in retinal endothelial cells.
6.Clinical observation of 15° face-changing acetabular cup in total hip replacement for the treatment of developmental dysplasia of hip.

OBJECTIVETo explore early clinical effect of acetabular cup in total hip replacement for the treatment of Crowe II developmental dysplasia of hip.
METHODSEighteen patients (18 hips) with Crowe type II developmental dysplasia of hip were treated with total hip replacement from September 2001 to July 2013. Among them,including 13 males and 5 females aged from 42 to 60 years old with an average of 47.6 years old; the courses of diseases ranged from 9 to 22 years with an average of 13.5 years. All the patients had hip joint pain, limb shortening and limited hip function before operation. Harris score of hip joint were used to evaluate recovery of function at 1 day and 12 months after operation. Prosthetic coverage of acetabular cup at 1 week after operation was observed by using radiography.
RESULTSEighteen patients (18 hips) were followed up from 12 to 24 months with an average 17 months. All incisions were healed at stage I. No deep vein thrombosis, hip dislocation, periprosthetic joint infection and prosthesis loosening were occurred. No revision surgery during follow-up period. Prosthetic coverage of acetabular cup was more than 80% at 1 week after operation. Harris score were increased from 42.67 ± 5.06 before operation to 94.79 ± 3.27 at 12 months after operation (t = -45.269, P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONFor type Crowe II developmental dysplasia of hip patients, 15° face-changing acetabular cups in THR could obtain higher actebular component coverage rate and satisfactory early clinical effects.

8.Long-term follow-up study for the remaining lesions of lungs in patients with SARS

Objective To study the dynamic CT features of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in recovery phase, and to analyze the correlative remaining factors on CT images. Methods Total 50 patients with SARS were followed-up with chest spiral CT and HRCT in 3, 6, 9, 14, 24 months after onset. Results (1)The pulmonary lesions were completely absorbed in 24 cases in 3 months, 30 cases in 6 months and 37 cases in 24 months. Abnormal CT findings were showed in 13 patients later, which appeared ground-glass opacity 8,irregular lines 6, thickening of interlobular septa 4, subpleural lines 2 and bronchiectasis 2. Objective:To investigate the correlation between preoperative circulating tumor cells (CTC) and microvascular invasion (MVI) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.Methods:The data of 227 patients who underwent hepatocellular carcinoma resection in Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University from January 2018 to March 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The peripheral blood CTC was detected by Cyttel detection before operation. The relationship between preoperative peripheral blood CTC and clinical characteristics of patients was analyzed; the multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the independent risk factors for MVI; the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to compare the efficacy of each independent risk factor in predicting the occurrence of MVI, and the relationship between CTC and MVI was clarified.Results:According to the ROC curve, the cut-off values for predicting MVI of CTC, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist Ⅱ (PIVKA-Ⅱ), and tumor long-axis diameter were 3 CTC/3.2 ml, 158 μg/L, 178 AU/L and 59 mm. CTC-positive group had ≥3 CTC/3.2 ml in peripheral blood, and CTC-negative group had <3 CTC/3.2 ml, and there were 117 and 110 cases in the two groups. The median AFP levels of preoperative CTC-positive group and CTC-negative group were 123.0 μg/L (0-20 000.0 μg/L) and 9.6 μg/L (0-18 676.0 μg/L), and the median tumor long-axis diameter was 50.0 mm (5.0-200.0 mm) and 36.0 mm (2.0-150.0 mm), the differences between the two groups were statistically significant (both P < 0.05). Before operation, AFP≥158 μg/L ( OR = 3.551, 95% CI 1.426-8.843, P = 0.006), PIVKA-Ⅱ≥178 AU/L ( OR = 12.250, 95% CI 4.384-34.231, P < 0.01), peripheral blood CTC ≥ 3 CTC/3.2 ml ( OR = 8.913, 95% CI 3.561-22.306, P < 0.01) and tumor long-axis diameter ≥59 mm ( OR = 3.250, 95% CI 1.339-7.885, P = 0.009) were independent risk factors for the occurrence of MVI; the area under the ROC curve (AUC) of these factors for predicting MVI was 0.752, 0.777, 0.857 and 0.743. CTC was more effective in predicting MVI than AFP and tumor long-axis diameter, and the differences were statistically significant (both P < 0.05). The efficacy of CTC in predicting MVI was slightly better than that of PIVKA-Ⅱ, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P > 0.05). Conclusion:CTC may be one of the important indicators of hepatocellular carcinoma MVI in clinical practice.
