2.Expression and clinical significance of survivin and p63 in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2010;19(4):219-221
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of survivin and p63 in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the expression of survivin and p63 in the lymphnode tissues from DLBCL patients and lymph node reactive proliferation. Results The positive expression rate of p63 and survivin proteins in DLBCL patients was 63.5 %(33/52) and 76.9 %(40/52), respectively. p63 was not expressed in lymph node reative proliferation. The positive expression rate of survivin in lymph node reactive proliferation was 20.0 %. The expression rates of survivin and p63 between two groups was significant different. The replase rate of groups with positive expression of survivin and p63 were higher than that of the negative groups. The mean survival in groups with positive expression of survivin and p63 were shorter than that of the negative groups. Conclusion Survivin and p63 are useful in therapeutic and prognostic assessment. Patients with poor prognostic can be screened out in the early period of treatment using expression of survivin and p63, which may help to improve the outcome of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
3. Changes of physiological pain threshold in gonadectomized rats
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;29(4):353-356
Objective: To investigate the modulatory effect of gonadal hormone on peripheral pain. Methods: Orchiectomized and ovariectomized rats models were established. Radio heater and Von-Frey hair were used to determine the peripheral mechanical and thermal pain threshold in gonadectomized rats and their corresponding sham-controls. Results: The body weight was increased and the uterus weight was decreased after ovariectomy in female rats(P<0.01). There was no significant change in the body weight of mate rats after orchiectomization. The 100% hind paw withdrawal threshold to Von-Frey hair stimulation was decreased significantly after ovariectomization in female rats, with no significant change in the thermal pain threshold. There was no significant changes in the 100% hind paw withdrawal threshold after Von-Frey hair stimulation or thermal pain threshold after orchidectomy in male rats. Conclusion: These results suggest that changes in androgen level of male rats have no influence on the peripheral basal pain threshold, and female gonadal hormone may inhibit the peripheral pain signaling and has no effect on thermal pain threshold.

Objective To compare the effects of total intravenous anesthesia or Intravenous-in-halation combined anesthesia on intraoperative somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP)and motor evoked potential (MEP)in spinal surgery. Methods Sixty patients scheduled for spinal surgery under general anesthesia were divided randomly and equally into 2 groups. The anesthesia was maintained with TCI propofol (plasma target concentration 3.0-3.5 μg/ml)and 1% sevoflurane+propofol in group T or group I respectively.BIS was monitored and maintained at 40-50.SSEP and MEP was re-corded before induction of anaesthesia (T0 ),5 minutes after tracheal intubation (T1 ),during skin in-cision (T2 )and at the time of decompressing spinal canal (T3 ).Results The latency of P38 and N45 prolonged, and the amplitudes of P38 and N45 was significantly depressed at T1-T3 compared to those at T0 (P <0.05).No statistically significant differences in cortical SSEP amplitudes or latency was observed in each time point. There was no case who could not detect the wave of MEP intraoperative-ly in this study. Conclusion The data from these cases indicates that 1% sevoflurane can be used in conjunction with SSEP and MEP monitoring for some adult patients undergoing spinal surgery.

Objective We tried to investigate the current status of pediatric nursing post setting and analyze the practical application effect in the clinical working practice for the foundation of readjusting and setting up the pediatric nursing positions. Methods By convenient sampling method, the general condition and current post setting situation in the pediatric wards of 7 hospitals with self-designed questionnaires were investigated. The results underwent analysis Results The nursing post setting in pediatric wards of 7 hospitals were not all the same, nursing posts in the pediatric ward included three categories:management positions, teaching positions and clinical positions.Management positions included the head nurse, deputy head nurse and head nurse assistant; teaching positions included the teaching secretary and clinical total teaching nurse; the seven kinds of clinical nursing positions were office job,day shift, night shift, evening shift, midnight shift,late-morning shift, auxiliary job.Though some nursing jobs differed in the position names and working hours, their job contents were nearly identical. Conclusions Pediatric nursing post setting management in our country is still in the exploratory stage at present,it has not form a unified perfect job management system.Pediatric nursing positions should be set from the perspective of evidencebased theory, satisfying the demands of patients as the guidance, coming from clinical needs as the first principle,in the full implementation of the accountability for nursing and based on comprehensive consideration of various factors,so that the post setting can be scientific and reasonable.
8.Correlation between serum procalcitonin concentration and systemic in-flammatory response syndrome score in patients with bacterial bloodstream infection
Chinese Journal of Infection Control 2014;(5):271-273
Objective To evaluate the correlation between serum procalcitonin concentration and systemic inflam-matory response syndrome (SIRS)score in patients with bacterial bloodstream infection. Methods In January-De-cember,2012,96 patients with bacterial bloodstream infection in a hospital were selected as trial group, and these patients were divided into three groups(group A,B and C)according to SIRS score;84 patients without bacterial in-fection was as control group,PCT concentration of all patients were detected, and the correlation between PCT con-centration and SIRS score was analyzed. Results Among 96 patients with bacterial bloodstream infection,7 (7.29%)died (4 were in group B and 3 in group C);there was no death case in control group.PCT concentration in control group, group A,B and C of trial group were (0.28±0.09)ng/mL,(0.63±0.13)ng/mL,(3.68±1.01)ng/mL,and(7.45±1.53)ng/mL,respectively,the difference between each group was significant(P<0.01).Pairwise comparison of four groups showed statistical difference (P<0.001).Spearman correlation analysis on PCT concen-tration and SIRS score was conducted, correlation coefficient r=0.874(P<0.001)suggested positive correlation be-tween serum PCT concentration and SIRS score. Conclusion PCT concentration in patients with bacterial blood-stream infection and SIRS score is positively correlated,PCT concentration and SIRS score can be used as two mark-ers for assessing the extent and prognosis of bacterial bloodstream infection.
