Objective To investigate the effects of lipid microspheres prostaglandin E1(Lipo PGE1) on subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH).Methods Ninty-three patients with SAH were randomly divided into control group(treated with nomal drugs) and Lipo PGE1 treatment group(treated with nomal drugs and Lipo PGE1).Changes in neuroimaging,biochemical indexes and incidence of cerebral vasospasm were measured. Objective To analysis the imaging appearances of giant intracranial aneurysms(GIA).Methods Forty pathological proven GIA were included in this study.Results The MR appearances were variable depending on the present of thrombosis,the size and age of the thrombosis,and the secondary changes of the GIA.The typical flow void presented in majority patients.The flow artifacts were displayed across the residual lumen in the phase direction of MR image.The residual lumen showed dense contrast enhancement.The thrombosis was found in 26 GIAs with variable signal intensity from homogeneous hypo-or hyperintensity to onion or turbo like heterogeneous signal intensity without contrast enhancement.DSA studies displayed residual lumen of GIAs and fail to display totally thrombosis GIAs.Conclusion MR studies clearly show the residual lumen and thrombosis of GIAs.MR study is an important conjunctive tool of the DSA studies in diagnosis GIA.
4.AGING CHANGES OF SOMATOSTATIN mRNA-POSITIVE NEURONS IN THE DORSAL HIPPOCAMPUS OF THE RAT

Aging changes of somatostatin (SS) mRNA-positive neurons in the dorsal hippocampus of old rats were studied by in situ hybridization histochemistry and image analysis. In the young rats,SS mRNA-positive cell bodies were mainly located in the pyramidal and polymorphic cell layers of the CA1 and CA2 regions, and in the strata radiatum and polymorphic cell layer of the CA3 region, and in the polymorphic cell layer of dentate gyrus. In the old rats,SS mRNA-positive cell bodies were concentrated in the polymorphic cell layer and denate gyrus. A marked decrease of number of SS mRNA-positive cell bodies and a significant increase of gray value of SS mRNA-positive cell bodies were found in the dorsal hippocampus and dentate gyrus of the old rats as compared with the young rats. No significant age difference in the sectional area of SS mRNA-positive cell bodies was observed in the dorsal hippocampus. The results showed that there were apparent changes with aging of the SS mRNA-positive cell bodies in the dorsal hippocampus of the rats. The significance of the changes remains to be studied further.
5.The application study of CT perfusion and CT subtraction angiography in the stenosis and obstruction of internal carotid artery

0.05 by ? 2 test (? 2=0.487). CT angiography of SSD, MIP, and CT virtual vascular endoscopy could show the location, extent and degree of occlusion or stenosis of internal carotid arteries clearly. CT angiography could also detect calcific plaque in 21 internal carotid arteries and soft plaque in 15 internal carotid arteries. Conclusion Two slices CT perfusion imaging could be made with regular helical CT scanner. CTA could also evaluate the status of plaque. The combination of CT perfusion imaging and CTA are useful not only in observing the morphology of internal carotid arteries, but also in observing the hemodynamic information of the brain, which are important for further general individual analysis.
6.A survey on chronic heart failure management in community physicians in Chengdu

A questionnaire survey on chronic heart failure management was conducted in 110 physicians from Xindu,Supo,Jiajiang and Xinhua community hospital in Chengdu from January 2007 to June 2010.Results showed that 77.3% (85/110) of community physicians lacked knowledge about prevention,diagnosis and treatment of chronic heart failure,and the diagnostic accuracy rate was only 51.3% (40/78) in these community hospitals.There was lack of awareness of the guideline of chronic heart failure:the rate of β blockers use was 15.0% (6/40) and only 5.0% (2/40) used the target dose; the rate of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor use was 17.5% (7/40) and only 7.50% (3/40) used the target dose.In addition,90% (99/110) of community doctors lacked the education and management for patients with heart failure.The survey suggests that the current situation of chronic heart failure management in community physicians in Chengdu is unsatisfactory.It is necessary to strengthen the training of community physicians.

8.Evaluation of serum sialic acid detection kit using enzymic method and investigate the clinical diagnosis value of sialic acid

Objective To evaluate the performance of serum sialic acid detection kit using enzymic method and investigate the clinical diagnosis value of sialic acid.Methods one hundred and fifty healthy adults were enrolled in this case control study to establish serum SA reference interval.The analytical performance (accuracy,precision,linearity) of serum sialic acid detection kit using enzymic method was assessed.Two hundred and forty patients were classified into different malignant tumor groups according to their pathological types.Serum SA level of each tumor group was compared with that of normal control group.In tumor groups with statistical difference,benign disease groups were further collected.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and area under curve (AUC) were used to evaluate the diagnostic value of SA compared with other tumor markers.t test,one-way ANOVA,Mann-Whitney U test were used as statistical methods.Results The reference interval of SA was 479 to 715 mg/L.The detection result of 2 level controls was 584 and 1 482 mg/L respectively,which were both within the acceptable limits.The within-lot and between-lot variations of three level samples were both below 5%.There was a good linear correlation (Y =0.995X-0.177,R2 =0.999) between theoretical value and actual detection result in range of 0-1 052 mg/L.The serum level of SA was (757 ± 177),(514 ± 86) and (597 ± 60) mg/L in gastric cancer group,benign disease control group and normal control group respectively,which had statistically significant difference(F =55.2,P < 0.01).The serum level of SA was(659 ± 127) and (545 ± 66) mg/L in colorectal cancer group and benign disease control group respectively,which had statistically significant difference(F =42.8,P < 0.01).The serum level of SA was (738 ± 157) and (672 ± 161) mg/L in colorectal cancer group and benign disease control group respectively,which did not have statistically significant difference(F =26.3,P > 0.05).The AUC of SA was 0.804,0.724,0.755 in gastric cancer group,colorectal cancer group and lung cancer group respectively,which was higher than that of CEA and CA72-4.In gastric cancer group,the sensitivity of SA was higher than that of CEA (59.5%,24.3%).The AUC of SA was 0.791,0.687,0.790 in gastric cancer,colorectal cancer and lung cancer patients with normal CEA serum level respectively.Conclusions Experimental results show that serum sialic acid detection kit using enzymic method has good performance in the precision and linearity.Sialic acid has some value in the diagnosis of gastric cancer and colorectal cancer and could be a good supplement of CEA in screening of cancer.
9.Effects of bFGF on cognitive ability of rat with diffuse axonal injury

Objective To study the alterations in neurobehavior of rats with diffuse axonal injury(DAI) and to evaluate the potential role of basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF). Methods A weight-drop device was employed to build the DAI model.An injection of bFGF subdurally and subcortically was given to the bFGF therapeutic group(n=60).Besides,normal control(n=20) and injured control group(n=60) were established.The elevated walkway test,prehensile traction test,sensorimotor integration test and the Morris' water maze test were adopted to examine the motor and memory abilities.After the implantation of skull electrodes,P3-like potential was explored in rats before and after injury. Results After DAI,the scales of the elevated walkway test,prehensile traction test,sensorimotor integration test and the Morris' water maze test were decreased,and the rats in the bFGF therapeutic group presented a better behaviour in the early stage.The latency of P3-like potential prolonged significantly in rats with DAI,with the P3-like potential in the injured control group longer than that in the bFGF therapeutic group(P
10.Effects of bFGF on alterations in pathology and immunohistochemistry in rats with diffuse axonal injury

Objective To study the alterations in pathology and immunohistochemistry in rats with diffuse axonal injury(DAI) and the effects from basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF). Methods A weight-drop device was employed to produce DAI in rats.In the treatment group(n=60),bFGF was injected subdurally and subcortically.Besides,normal control group(n=20) and injury-control group(n=60) were also established.The pathological changes were observed by light microscopy and electromicroscopy,and the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),growth associated protein-43(GAP-43) and glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) were also examined by immunohistochemistry. Results Typical pathological changes were observed in the basal portion of pons,corpus callosum and white matter of cerebral hemisphere in the rats with DAI.And an upregulation of GFAP,GAP-43 and BDNF was also found.In the treatment group,better outcomes of pathological changes were observed.bFGF increased the expression of BDNF and GAP-43,while inhibited the immunoreactivity of GFAP. Conclusion Topical application of bFGF can improve brain tissue regeneration and speed function recovery in rats with DAI,though its long-term effect warrants further study.
