Objectives To investigate the dynamic change of galectin-1 in myocardium of mice with viral myocarditis (VMC). Methods A total of 58 male BALB/c mice were selected and randomly divided into CVB3 group (n=50) and control group (n=8). Mice in CVB3 group were infected with 0.10 ml 10-5/L CVB3 through intraperitoneal inoculation, and 8 mice were killed on day 7, 10, 14 and 28 respectively after inoculation. Mice in control group inoculated with 0.10 ml eagle reagent was killed on day 28. The myocardial pathological changes were observed using light microscope. In addition, expressions of serum galectin-1 were detected by ELISA and expressions of myocardial galectin-1 were detected by real-time quantitative-polymerase chain reaction (RQ-PCR). Results Compared with control group, the myocardial expression of galectin-1 mRNA in CVB3 group was obviously increased on day 7 and day 10 (all P<0.05);the serum concentration of galectin-1 in CVB3 group was obviously increased on day 7, day 10 and day 14 (all P<0.05). Conclusion The expressions of galectin-1 in myocardium of mice with viral myocarditis were in dynamic changes. Galectin-1 may play a role in the pathogenesis and development of viral myocarditis.

Objective To explore a method for development of carbon tetrachloride-induced cirrhotic model in rabbit and establish a portal vein delivery system in this model.Methods Male New Zealand white rabbit was subcutaneously injected carbon tetrachloride twice weekly,and the liver pathology and hepatic hydroxyproline content were examined after 12 weeks of injection.Portal vein catheterization was introduced through the terminal branch of mesostenium vein.The injection end of the catheter was embedded subcutaneously in the abdominal wall of the animal.The portal delivery was implemented by percutaneous puncture of the injection cap.Results After 12 weeks' of carbon tetrachloride administration,the rabbit liver developed typical pseudo lobule,and the liver hydroxyproline content increased 3.5 times compared to normal control.The portal vein delivery system could be maintained as long as 12 weeks.Conclusion A successive method to induce rabbit liver cirrhosis is developed,and a simple and economic animal portal vein delivery system is introduced.

Objective To set up a clean-up method using gel permeation chromatography(GPC)and ENVI-Carb-SPE.The residues of triadimefon and its metablites,triadimenol A and triadimenol B in ginseng were detected by GC-MS with negative chemical ionization(NCI).Methods The sample was extracted with acetone and the extract was cleaned using GPC and ENVI-Carb-SPE.Based on GC-MS(NCI)the pesticides were separated on a DB-5MS column using a temperature program and were detected with a mass selective detector in selective ion monitoring(SIM)mode.The reference solution was prepared by the blank sample extract to overcome the matrix effect,the external reference method was used to detect.Results Three pesticides were separated within 10 min.The average spiked recoveries in three levels were 90%—105% with relative standard deviations(RSD)below 6%(n=6)in roots and stems.The limits of detection(LOD)of triadimefon and triadimenols were 0.1 and 10 ?g/L.The precision was below 2%(n=6).Conclusion The method is sensitive for the residue analysis of three pesticides and could be used to the triadimefon and triadimenols detection and security control in ginseng.

Objective To analyze the curative effects and complications of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt in treating hydrocephalus caused by different diseases in children. Methods The data of 289 children with hydrocephalus who were performed ventriculo-peritoneal shunt were examined and the incidence rate of complications was analyzed. Results Thirty-seven incidences of complications occurred in 24 patients with the total incidence rate of 12.46%.There was obstruction of proximate tube in five cases,distal end in two cases,with the obstruction rate of 2.42%.Postoperative infection happened in nine cases(3.11%).Bacterial culture was positive in three cases,two of which were Staphylococcus epidermidis and Bacillus coli in the other one.Negative results were found in six patients for the bacterial culture.Subdural hematoma occured in one case,and tube break after injury in two cases.Slit ventricle syndrome broke out seven times in three cases,leakage of cerebrospinal fluid in two,exposure of pumps in three,and subcutaneous hydrops in two.Four cases(1.38%)were dead from infection. Conclusion Ventriculo-peritoneal shunt is preferred for hydrocephalus in children if the complications are well prevented and controlled.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of virtual bronchoscopic navigation (VBN) for peripheral pulmonary lesions. Methods 200 cases with peripheral pulmonary lesions (0.8 cm < diameter < 4.0 cm) were divided into VBN and control group from June 2014 to June 2015. VBN group: VBN guided ultrafine bronchoscope to the target bronchus, control group: ultrafine bronchoscopy with chest CT as a reference guided to the target bronchus. Results There were no significant differences in the diagnosis rates between VBN group and control group in 200 patients (χ2 = 3.31, P = 0.069); But, the diagnosis rates with diameter more than 2.0 cm and less than or equal to 2.0 cm had statistically significant differences of VBN group and control group (χ2 = 13.45, 5.31, P = 0.000, 0.021, respectively); We also found that the mean time of biopsy tool reach to the lesions had significant differences between the two groups (P = 0.047). There were no significant differences in total checking time and complications (P = 0.230, 0.960, respectively). Conclusions Virtual bronchoscopic navigation did not improve the diagnosis rate of pulmonary peripheral lesions, but shortened the time to locate the lesions.

Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury is an important restricting factor of clinical liver resection and liver transplantation.When the liver is transiently deprived of blood followed by repeffusion,a large number of various mediators are released that can lead to cellular and,eventually,organ dysfunction.This review summarizes the pathogenesis and the protection mechanisms of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury.

Objective To explore the functional changes of gap junctional intercellular communication(GJIC) in bladder smooth muscle. Methods The functions of GJIC in bladder smooth muscle were detected by fluorescence recovery after photobleaching(FRAP). The mean fluorescence recovery rates of the bladder smooth muscle cells in the experimental group and the control group were compared. Reperfusion is the most effective treatment for acute myocardial infarction, markedly reducing mortality and morbidity. Reperfusion however induces necrotic and apoptotic damages to cardiomyocytes, that were viable prior to reperfusion, a process called myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury(MI/RI). Over the past 30 years, hundreds of experimental interventions (both pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic) have been reported to protect the ischemic myocardium in experimental animals; however, with the exception of early reperfusion, none has been translated into clinical practice. The population-based survey assessed men have about twice the total incidence of morbidity and mortality of women, and the sex gap in morbidity tends to diminish after age 45 years. So hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is given to treat the MI/RI, and lots of studies shows that the side effect is greater for estrogen, compared with phyestrogen. In this article, we review the important pathogenesis of myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury, the prevention and limitations of HRT. And we highlight the mechanism of phyestrogens treatment the MI/RI in experiment. The aim is to provide the theoretically new way of develop the safe and effective products for the researchers.
