5.Study on effects of Weiati 999 on treating the chronic gastritis
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;269(2):41-50
Author used Weiati 999 to treat 60 patients with chronic gastritis. The results have shown that 81.2% of treated patients did not have upper abdominal pain and the other symptoms also disappeared in 61.6% to 87.1% of patients. Endoscopically, 71,7% of treated patients had not gastric mucosal inflammation after treatment. The good effect on the activity of inflammation appeared in 75.4%. The ratio of HP eradication is 34.5%. It should note that the effects of Weitai 999 in patients with HP (-) is better than these in patients with HP (+). The effects in patients with atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia is not statistical significance.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: We performed a randomized, double-blind, phase III, multicenter trial to assess the comparative efficacy and safety of revaprazan, which is a novel acid pump antagonist in comparison with ranitidine for treating patients suffering with acute gastritis and acute aggravation of chronic gastritis. METHODS: Five hundred and twelve subjects were randomized to 2 weeks of treatment with either revaprazan 200 mg q.d. or ranitidine 150 mg b.i.d. The primary efficacy parameter was the estimated improvement rate according to endoscopy, and the secondary efficacy parameter was the improvement rate for the subjects' symptoms. RESULTS: The estimated improvement rates at 2 weeks (intention-to-treat analysis) were 79.9% with revaprazan and 60.5% with ranitidine; a significant difference was found between the two groups (p<0.0001). On the per-protocol analysis, the estimated improvement rates for revaprazan and ranitidine were 79.4% and 60.2%, respectively. There was a significant difference in the estimated improvement rates between the two groups (p<0.0001). On both analyses, there were no significant differences between the two groups for the improvement rates of the subjects' symptoms. Both drugs were well tolerated. CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of revaprazan was higher than that of ranitidine for the estimated improvement rate according to endoscopy and also for the symptomatological improvement rate, and revaprazan was well tolerated by the subjects suffering with gastritis.

9.Research on the effects of Weitai 999 in treatment of chronic gastritis
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2004;0(12):18-23
The opening, comparing results before and after treatment clinical trial was performed to abserve the effects of Weitai 999 (an oriental medicine imported from China) on 60 patients with chronic gastritis, were treated by 500 mg of Weitai 999, 4 tablets a day for 30 days. The results showed that 81.2% of patients did not have upper abdominal pain. Endoscopy showed 71.7% of patients had not gastric mucosal inflammation after treatment. Histopathology showed good effect on activity of inflammation in 75.4% of patients. The rate of HP eradication was 34.5%. There was not clinical side effects

10.Study on the relation between atrophic gastritis and helicobacter pylori
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;0(12):36-38
103 patients were diagnosed as chronic gastritis by gastro endoscopy with biopsy and histological examination (using the visual analogue scale of the Revised Sydney classification) and blood test for H.pylori antibody IgG. The result shown that: the rate of H.pylori in atrophic gastritis was higher than that in non atrophic gastritis (67% and 8.7%, respectively, p<0.01). The HP rate among active chronic gastritis (moderate and severe) also was higher than mild group (p<0.001). The rate of atrophic chronic gastritis was 79.6%; of non atrophic chronic gastritis was 21.4%. Atrophic chronic gastritis in antrum accounted for 73.8%, in antrum and corpus 5.8%, intestinal metaplasia 8.2%, dysplasia 4.1%
