BACKGROUNDIntraperitoneal lymphangioma (IL) used to be thought of as a benign lymphatic malformation with a low rate of preoperative diagnosis. This retrospective study aimed to explore the connection between the cysts and clinical manifestation and imaging characteristics, and to study diagnostic confusion, therapeutic principles and potential recurrent reasons, to further enhance the comprehension of this rare disease.
METHODSHere, we retrospectively reviewed 21 patients diagnosed with IL. Age, sex, complaints, physical findings, and imaging features of each patient were documented. The therapies, postoperative complications and treatments were discussed.
RESULTSSymptomatology included eight patients (38%) with intermittent dull pain in the abdomen, and three patients (14%) complained of abdominal persistent pain. The physical examination revealed an abdominal mass in 16 patients (76%), and eight (38%) were reported no discomfort. IL was correctly established preoperatively in 19 patients (90%). Patients were treated using laparotomy, except one who was treated with laparoscopy. Two recurrences were noted during follow-up.
CONCLUSIONSIL should be suspected in any patient with a mobile abdominal mass and surgery is required immediately after discovery of the tumor.

OBJECTIVETo probe the effect of acupuncture at three acupoints of eye on Bell palsy.
METHODSSeventy-six cases were randomly divided into a routine acupuncture group and a Yan three needling group, 38 cases in each group. The routine acupuncture group were treated with electroacupuncture (EA) at routinely selected acupoints including Yifeng (TE 17), Dicang (ST 4), etc. and the Yan three needling group were treated by EA at the routinely selected acupoints combined with acupuncture at three acupoints of eye including Jingming (BL 1), Shangming, Chengqi (ST 1). The intensity on 0.05 ms in the intensity/time (I/t) curve for frontal ventral fronto-occipital muscle and orbicular muscle of mouth at the affected side was used for assessment criteria of course of disease, and frontal ventral fronto-occipital muscle restoring the raising eyebrow action and orbicular muscle of mouth restoring to House-Brackmann grade I and II were regarded as the therapeutic time limit.
RESULTSRoutine EA treatment combined with acupuncture at the 3 acupoints of eye could significantly increase clinical therapeutic effect on Bell palsy with a cured rate of 89.5%, which was better than 65.8% in the routine acupuncture group (P<0.05), and the therapeutic cycle was shorted.
CONCLUSIONAcupuncture at the 3 acupoints of eye can significantly improve Bell palsy and promote recovery of functions of facial nerves.

A novel qualitative analytical method by using two-dimensional chromatographic correlation spectroscopy techniques for recognizing impurity peaks of HPLC methods of quality control and LC-MS chromatographic system was established. The structures of major degradation products of ceftizoxime and cefdinir were identified by LC-MS and MassWorks application; the standard chromatographic and spectral data of the degradation impurities were obtained by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection. The impurity peaks of two-dimensional chromatography were matched by comparison of spectra and calculating correlation coefficients. Peaks in chromatography can be identified accurately and rapidly in different chromatographic systems such as column and mobile phase changed. The method provides a new way and thought to identify the peaks in quality control of impurities without reference impurity substances.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2007;25(4):197-199
OBJECTIVETo study the changes of nitric oxide(NO) and nitric-oxide synthase(NOS) in the development of cold-induced hypertension (CIH).
METHODSSixty male Sprague-Dawley adult rats were used. Thirty were exposed to cold (4 +/- 1) degrees C as cold-treated group while the other 30 were at (25 +/- 1) degrees C as controls, 4 hours a day for 6 weeks for both groups. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate were measured twice every week. Each group was further subdivided into three groups, 10 rats each. A subgroup of the cold-treated and control rats were sacrificed at 2, 4 and 6 week. Plasma was saved to measure superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondiadehycle (MDA), while heart was homogenated to measure NO, NOS.
RESULTS1 SBP increased during 6 weeks of exposure to cold. From the second week, SBP of cold-treated group [(94.16 +/- 3.81) mm Hg] was significantly greater than that of control group [(88.77 +/- 4.45 mm Hg), P<0.01]. The highest SBP level was achieved at the sixth week [(116.78 +/- 3.79)mm Hg, P<0.01]. 2 Compared to the control group, SOD in cold-treated group decreased significantly from the second week, and maintained throughout the time of exposure to cold (P<0.05). MDA levels did not differ significantly between cold-treated and control groups though it increased mildly during 6 weeks of cold exposure (P>0.05). Heart NOS in cold-treated group decreased significantly from the fourth week to the sixth week. And a mild decrease was observed in heart NO of cold-treated group during 6 weeks of exposure (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONCold-induced hypertension is induced in rats after repeated exposure to cold. The levels of NOS, NO decrease accordingly to the rise of blood pressure. This indicates that the dysfunction of NO and NOS is involved in the development of CIH.

Objective To explore the role of integrin αvβ3 in the promotion of the development of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) by SDF-1/CXCR4.Methods This study was divided into two parts in vitro and in vivo.As for the in vivo study,a CNV model was induced by laser on C57BL/6J mice, and then assigned into 4 groups:mice with solely CNV modeling as control group, with intravitreal injection of SDF-1 after immediate CNV modeling as SDF-1 group, with intravitreal injection of SDF-1 + CXCR4 inhibitor (AMD3100) after CNV modeling as SDF-1 + AMD3100 group, and mice with intravitreal injection of SDF-1 + αvβ3 inhibitor (SB273005) after modeling as SDF-1 + SB273005 group.CXCR4 and αvβ3 expression levels in laser-induced eyes were quantified by qRT-PCR at time points of day 1,3,5,7,10 and 14 after modeling, and immunofluorescence staining was applied to detect αvβ3 expression in regional CNV and its endothelial cells in the four groups. Finally,OCT was used to observe the height of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) layers in CNV after treatment in the four groups. Moreover,in the experiment in vitro,Western blot was used to measure the expression of CXCR4 protein of RF/6A cells in normal control group,Si-CXCR4 knockdown group and Si-NC knockdown model group.Meanwhile, the expression of integrin subunit β3 protein was determined in the normal control group,SDF-1 group,SDF-1 + AMD3100group,SDF-1 + Si-NC group and SDF-1 + Si-CXCR4 group.Transwell assay was conducted to detect the migration ability of RF/6A cells in the normal control group,SDF-1group,SDF-1 +AMD3100 group,SDF-1 + SB273005 group. Results On the one hand, the study in vivo,qRT-PCR showed that the expression of CXCR4 and integrin subunit β3 mRNA was up-regulated at first, and then down-regulated with time passed after CNV induction, with the highest expression level of CXCR4 mRNA (4.263 ± 0.464) on day 3,and the peak expression of β3 mRNA (3.678 ±0.364) on day 7 after CNV modeling. The results of immunofluorescence staining showed that the β3 fluorescence intensity of SDF-1 group was significantly enhanced, and the ratio of β3/CD31 was also significantly increased, which both were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.01).However,the β3 fluorescence intensity and β3/CD31 ratio of SDF-1 +AMD3100 group and SDF-1 + SB273005 group were significantly weakened and decreased, respectively (P <0.05).OCT showed that the elevation level of RPE layer inSDF-1 group was significantly higher than that in the control group [(135.503 ± 10.301) μm vs.(94.443 ± 12.156) μm](P<0.05).The height of RPE uplift in SDF-1 + AMD3100 group [(95.283 ±20.062) μm] and SDF-1 + SB273005 group [(99.807 ± 10.403) μm] was significantly decreased (P < 0.05).On the other hand,in experiment in vitro,Western blot showed that the expression levels of integrin β3 in SDF-1 group and SDF-1 + Si-NC group were significantly higher than those in the control group [(1.301 ± 0.043) and (1.273 ± 0.077) vs.(0.244 ± 0.069)] (P < 0.01).The levels of integrin subunit β3 protein in SDF-1 + si-CXCR4 group (0.322 ± 0.042) and SDF-1 + AMD3100 group (0.336 ± 0.077) were significantly down-regulated (P < 0.01).Transwell assay showed that the amount of migrating cells in SDF-1 group increased, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.01),while the number of migrating cells in SDF-1 +AMD3100 group and SDF-1 + SB273005 group was significantly decreased. Conclusion Integrin αvβ3 can promote the development of CNV by mediating SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling in endothelial cells.

Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2023;41(7):555-557
In this paper, 177 cases of artificial stone-related silicosis in interior decoration workers from Israel, Spain, USA, Italy and Australia were analyzed. Interior decoration workers were from small businesses (or workshops), engaged in kitchen and/or bathroom artificial stone countertops cutting, grinding, polishing and other reprocessing. In the working environment, the content of crystalline silica in artificial stone was more than 70%, and the concentration of silica dust exceeded the relevant standards. Most workplaces used dry cutting without ventilation and dust removal and other dust-proof measures, and most workers did not wear qualified respiratory protective equipment. Taking comprehensive measures such as wet operation, ventilation and dust removal, and individual protection can effectively prevent the occurrence of artificial stone-related silicosis.
