Objective: To investigate the effects of lidocaine on impairment of learning and memory function and cholinergic system caused by cerebral microsphere embolism in rats. Methods: Healthy male Wister rats were randomly divided into the following groups. (1) Control group. (2) 600 microsphere group and 900 microsphere group, in which 600 or 900 microspheres were injected into the right internal carotid artery, respectively. (3) 600 treatment group and 900 treatment group, in which 600 or 900 microspheres were injected into the right internal carotid artery, respectively, and lidocaine was given. Water maze tasks were tested for 5 consecutive days from the 7th postoperative day. The rats were then decapitated and regions of cerebral cortex, hippocampus, and striatum were selected. The activities of choline acetyltransferase and cholinesterase and the binding activity of muscarinic receptor were determined. Results: (1) The latency periods were significantly longer in the 900 microsphere group than in the control group and in the 600 microsphere group. (2) The percentages of effective search strategy were significantly lower in the 600 and 900 microsphere groups than in the control group. They were significantly higher in the 600 and 900 treatment groups than in the corresponding microsphere groups. (3) The activities of choline acetyltransferase of cerebral cortex were significantly lower in the 900 microsphere and two treatment groups than in the control group. They were also significantly lower in the 600 and 900 treatment groups than in the corresponding microsphere groups. Those of striatum were all significantly lower in the microsphere and treatment groups than in the control group. (4) The activities of cholinesterase of cerebral cortex were significantly lower in the 900 microsphere group than in the control and 600 microsphere groups. They were significantly higher in the 900 treatment group than in the 900 microsphere group. Those of hippocampus were all significantly lower in the microsphere and treatment groups than in the control group. (5) The binding activities of muscarinic receptor of cerebral cortex were significantly lower in the 900 microsphere and two treatment groups than in the control group. They were also significantly lower in the two treatment groups than in the corresponding microsphere groups. Those of hippocampus and striatum were all significantly lower in the microsphere and treatment groups then in the control group. They were also significantly lower in the 600 or 900 treatment group than in the corresponding microsphere group. Conclusion: Cerebral microsphere embolism caused significant and quantity-dependent impairment of learning and memory function and cholinergic system in rats. Lidocaine alleviated learning and memory dysfunction caused by cerebral microsphere embolism, but further inhibited the parameters of central cholinergic system.

Objective To evaluate the parametric features of image textures on 18F-FDG PET/CT for the differentiation between malignant and benign pulmonary nodules and compare the diagnostic performance of these parameters with SUVmax.Methods 18F-FDG PET/CT images of 170 patients (102 males,68 females,age range:29-81 (mean 59)years) with pulmonary nodules were retrospectively evaluated.Eightynine pulmonary nodules (230 slices) were malignant and 81 (193 slices) were benign.The pulmonary nodules were contoured on CT images and mapped to the co-registered PET images.Thirteen parameters of textural features were extracted and SUVmax was measured.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the significant texture parameters and create a regression model.The efficacy of the textural features and SUVmax to distinguish between malignant and benign pulmonary nodules was evaluated by ROC curve analysis.The textural features of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma were compared via the Mann-Whitney u test.The sensitivity and specificity of the textural features and SUVmax for the differential diagnosis were compared with x2 test.Results Logistic regression model identified 4 textural features (skewness (β =1.7058),kurtosis (β =-1.0989),angular second moment (ASM,3 =-4.4140) and strength (β =0.5626) ; all P ＜ 0.05) to have significant correlation with the malignancy of lung nodules.The AUC of ROC curve was 0.775 (95％ CI0.732-0.819; P＜0.001) with the sensitivity of 89.6％ (206/230) and specificity of 50.8％ (98/193).ASM and strength had statistically significant differences between squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma [ASM:0.0303 (95％ CI 0.0392-0.0724) vs 0.0594 (95％ CI 0.0721-0.0947) ; strength:2.4714 (95％ CI 2.4632-4.1050) vs 1.5945 (95％ CI 1.9003-2.4652) ; u =3082.0 and 3115.0,both P＜0.01].The AUC of SUVmax-based diagnosis was 0.757 (95％ CI 0.711-0.802 ; P ＜ 0.001) with the sensitivity of 80.9 ％ (186/230) and specificity of 50.3 ％ (97/193) at a cut-off value of 2.5.The sensitivity of the textural features was superior to SUVmax in differentiating malignant from benign pulmonary nodules (x2 =6.903,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Image textural parametric features extracted from 18 F-FDG PET/CT are more sensitive to differentiate between malignant and benign pulmonary nodules compared to SUVmax.They might also be useful to discriminate between different pathological types of lung cancers.

Research on inflammatory response,liver injury,and immune regulation has demonstrated that the intricate interactions among immune cells constitute a critical regulatory network.Alcohol consumption alters the liver microenvironment,triggering inflammation and immune responses.Elucidating the inhibitory,cooperative,and synergistic effects among lymphocytes and myeloid cells may reveal the core mechanisms of alcohol-associated liver disease(ALD)pathogenesis and identify promising therapeutic targets.This review seeks to elucidate the intricate and multifaceted interactions among immune cells,encompassing both direct cellular interactions and the secretion of various effector molecules.It is essential to underscore that these interactions have broader and more complex roles in ALD than the activities of individual immune cell types.These interactions play a crucial role in mutually regulating one another,thereby preserving the homeostasis of the inflammatory and immune response in the liver environment.Targeting these immune cell interactions is anticipated to offer a novel approach to the prevention and treatment of ALD.

Objective To optimize the synthesis method of ¹⁸F-T807 and study preliminary biodistribution. Methods ¹⁸F-T807 was synthesized using an optimized method in TRACERlab FX_FN synthesizer with a t-BOC（t-Butyloxy carbonyl）-protected ¹⁸F-T807 precursor NPPI-9 as starting material, improving experimental conditions for synthesis, then QC and biodistribution study in Wistar rats conducted. Results The improved synthesis conditions increased the synthesis yield from 20.5%±6.1% to 25.7%±5.8%. QC met the standard. Wistar rats had higher intake in kidney, liver, blood and lowest intake in brain, heart, lung. Conclusion The optimized synthesis method to synthesize ¹⁸F-T807 is simple and easy, and high yield, which can meet the needs of scientific research and clinical practice.

Objective:To observe the differences in clinical efficacy of Jieyu Anshen Decoction combined with auricular points and oral tibolone in the treatment of patients with perimenopausal sleep disorders, and provide effective treatment for patients with contraindications to hormone supplement therapy in clinicalMethods:Using a randomized trial design, from July 2018 to August 2020,102 perimenopausal insomnia patients in International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital of China Welfare Institutewith kidney deficiency and liver depression who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group with 51 cases each. The treatment group took Jieyu Anshen Recipe. At the same time, unilateral auricular point pressing treatment was given, and the opposite ear was changed in 5 d. The control group was treated with tiburon for a period of 3 months. The changes in the scores of each scale were observed in the two groups after 1 month and 3 months treatment. The scale included Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), modified Kupperman score (KMI), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire Depression Screening Scale (PHQ-9). Its effectiveness and differences were evaluated and analyzed comprehensively through the above scale.Results:PSQI, KMI, GAD-7, PHQ-9 scores decreased significantly in the control and treatment groups after 1 month and 3 months of treatment, and the difference were statistically significant: PSQI: (8.58 ± 1.94) and (5.81 ± 1.93) scores vs. (13.10 ± 2.53), (9.15 ± 2.59) and (6.33 ± 1.98) scores vs.(13.52 ± 2.27) scores; KMI: (19.92 ± 2.16) and (14.67 ± 4.11) scores vs. (28.54 ± 7.65) scores, (19.02 ± 5.92) and(14.10 ± 4.37) scores vs. (27.42 ± 7.34) scores; GAD-7: (4.54 ± 2.03) and (3.81 ± 1.63) scores vs. (5.69 ± 2.95) scores, (3.71 ± 2.48) and (3.32 ± 1.73) scores vs. (4.90 ± 3.17) scores; PHQ-9:(6.90 ± 2.52) and (4.98 ± 1.96) scores vs. (9.83 ± 3.71) scores, (6.15 ± 2.62) and (4.44 ± 1.81) scores vs. (9.02 ± 3.73) scores ( P<0.01). PSQI, KMI, PHQ-9, and GAD-7 scores declined between the two groups, but there were no significant differences between the two groups ( P>0.05). After 1 month and 3 months of treatment, using PSQI scale and KMI score, the total efficiency of patients in the control group was slightly higher than that of the treatment group, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P>0.05); after 1 month and 3 months of treatment, using PHQ-9 score and GAD-7 score, the total efficiency of patients in the treatment group was slightly higher than that of the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Traditional Chinese medicine combined with ear acupoint pressing has similar effects to tibolone in treating perimenopausal insomnia with kidney deficiency and liver depression. It can significantly improve the quality of sleep and quality of life of patients, and has good safety. For patients who are not suitable for hormone, Chinese medicine can be used as an alternative. The therapies are worthy of clinical application.

【Objective】 To understand the antigen profile and antibody frequency of Wr^a in voluntary blood donors in Shaanxi province. 【Methods】 Wr^a antigen and antibody screening as well as blood group typing and antibody identification were performed by serological tests and confirmed by genetic testing. 【Results】 The incidence of Wr^a antigen in 7 490 voluntary blood donors was 0.013%(1/7 490), and the frequency of anti-Wr^a in 729 voluntary blood donors was 0.823%(6/729). 【Conclusion】 This study explored the polymorphism of Wr^a antigen and antibodies in blood donors, which is informative in the risk assessment of blood transfusion and the screening and identification of respective antibodies.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the process of apoptosis in lungs and liver induced by crushing hindlimbs of rat, and study the mechanism of crush injury. METHODS: The rat experimental model of hindlimbs crush injury was established. The cell apoptosis in lungs and liver was detected by TUNEL assay, and the expression of Bax, Bcl-2 and caspase-3 apoptin was examined by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the partial muscle injury of rat's hindlimbs was more serious with more apoptosis observed in lungs and liver (P < 0.05). The expression of Bax was up-regulated and Bcl-2 was down-regulated, whereas caspase-3 expression was activated (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The cell apoptosis has increased significantly in lungs and liver after crush injury of hindlimbs in rat. The correlation factor released during tissue injury may mediate apoptosis process.

Objective To investigate the distribution of Leptotrombidium deliense among different small mammal hosts in some areas of Yunnan province. Methods A field survey was carried out in some counties of Yunnan province and the small mammal hosts were captured, using mouse cages and traps with baits. Chigger mites on the surface of two auricles were scraped off by a bistoury, and then preserved in 70% ethanol. Every specimen of the chigger mites on the slides was finally identified into species under a microscope. Some conventional statistical methods were adopted to calculate all the collected chigger mite species and the constituent ratios of Leptotrombidium deliense in different areas and on different hosts, together with its prevalence and mean abundance on different hosts. Results A total of 10 222 small mammal hosts were captured from 19 counties and identified as 11 families, 34 genera and 62 species in 5 orders, and 92 990 individuals of chigger mites were collected from the body surface of these small mammal hosts. All the collected chigger mites were identified as 3 subfamilies, 22 genera, and 225 species. Meanwhile, Leptotrombidium deliensee only accounted for 1.659% of the total. The host specificity of Leptotrombidium deliense was very low and 1544 individuals of Leptotrombidium deliense collected from 8518 small mammal hosts belonged to 6 families, 13 genera and 19 species in 3 orders. Our results showed that Leptotrombidium delienses were mainly collected from Insectivora and Rodentia. Leptotrombidium deliense had long been considered as the dominant species of chigger mites and the main vector of tsutsugamushi disease in Yunnan province of China, but our results seemed not thoroughly supporting this point of view. Conclusion Traditionally, Leptotrombidium deliense was the dominant species and the main vectors of scrub typhus in Yunnan province. However, based on our results, the above view might be true in some local places and the composition of chigger mites and the main vector of tautsugamushi disease might be different in regions and habitats in Yunnan province.

OBJECTIVETo compare clinical outcomes of swing shoulder and internal fixation in treating proximal humeral fractures.

METHODSFrom June 2007 to June 2012, totally 89 elderly patients with humeral proximal fractures were treated by swing of shoulder or internal fixation, and 81 patients were followed up. In swing shoulder group, there were 38 patients including 13 males and 25 females aged from 62 to 84 with an average of (67.11±6.18) years old; 27 cases were 2-part fractures and 11 cases were 3-part fractures according to Neer classfication. In internal fixation group, there were 43 patients including 16 males and 27 females aged from 60 to 80 with an average of (66.47±5.48) years old; and 29 cases were 2-part fractures and 14 cases were 3-part fractures according to Neer classfication. VAS score and complications were compared between two groups after treatment, and Constant-Murley functional scoring was used to evaluate shoulder function of patients.

RESULTSEighty-one patients were followed up from 13 to 26 months with an average of 18.3 months. There was no significant difference in preoperative VAS score between two groups. After treatment, VAS score in swing shoulder group was (3.11±0.95), and (3.88±1.14) in internal fixation group, and had significant difference between two groups (t=-3.313,P<0.05). There was no significant difference in Constant-Murley scores between swing shoulder group (79.53±3.73) and internal fixation group (77.98±4.11) (t=1.768,P>0.05). Postoperative complications in swing shoulder group was 18.4%(7/38), 39.5%(17/43) in internal fixation group, and had significant differences between two groups (χ2=4.313,P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSwing shoulder for the treatment of proximal humeral fractures in elderly has advantages of low cost, less complications and good recovery of joint function; while internal fixation has a good therapeutic effect but increased complications.
