The ultrastructural localization of substance P (SP) immunoreactivity, especially the morphology, number and distribution of positive large granular vesicles (LGV) in SP axon terminals of the trigeminal subnucleus caudalis of the rat were studied by electron microscopic immunocytochemistry. This study revealed that SP immunoreactivity was mostly located in axon terminals and unmyelinated fibers. SP axon terminals contained both clear round vesicles and LGV. SP immunoreactivity was found in LGV, and on the surface of clear round vesicles and outer membrane of mitochondria. Positive LGV were spherical or oval in shape (60~120nm in diameter). The number of LGv was mostly 2~3 in a SP axon terminal. LGV often apposed to the axolemma or scattered in the centre of terminal. LGV were far from the presynaptic sites of the SP terminals which formed synapses. The number of LGV closed to the terminal membrane was significantly (P

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1989;0(S1):-
Previous studies have demonstrated that exocytotic release from large dense cored vesicle(LDV)at structurally non-specialized areas within axon terminal of the medullary dorsal horn and it has been speculated that non-synaptic exocytosis from LDV may be a probable mechanism for neuropeptide release. This study provides the evidence that SP containing LDV can release their contents by exocytosis at non-synaptic sites of axon terminal within superficial dorsal horn of medulla oblongata in the rat with ultrastructural immunohistochemistry staining by an unilateral deafferentation. The results of this study confirmed previous hypothesis that SP and perhaps other peptides containing LDV release their contents by exocytosis at non-specialized sites and the significance of such release is discussed.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of CMS50F for screening in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). Methods Sixty-four volunteers with suspected OSAHS underwent simultaneous noc?turnal polysomnography (PSG), micromovement sensitive mattress sleep monitoring system(MSMSMS)and CMS50F. The ap?nea-hypopnea index (AHI) detected by PSG and MSMSMS was used as the diagnostic standard for OSAHS. The reliability of CMS50F for monitoring sleep was assessed. Results There was no statistic difference in CMS50F-ODI3 and PSG-AHI be?tween normal, mild and moderate OSAHS groups(P>0.05). The CMS50F-ODI3 was smaller than the PSG-AHI in severe OSAHS patients(P < 0.05). There was a positive correlation between CMS50F-ODI3 and PSG-AHI(r=0.855, P < 0.05). PSG-AHI≥5 events per hour was used as the threshold value to diagnose OSAHS, the sensitivity and specificity of CMS50F were 94.5%and 88.9%. There were no significant differences in CMS50F-ODI3 and MSMSMS-AHI between normal, mild and moderate OSAHS patients(P>0.05). The value of CMS50F-ODI3 was smaller than MSMSMS-AHI in severe OSAHS patients (P < 0.05). There was also a significant correlation between CMS50F- ODI3 and MSMSMS-AHI (r=0.867,P <0.05). MSMSMS-AHI≥5 events per hour was used as the threshold value to diagnose OSAHS, the sensitivity and specificity of CMS50F were 94.5%and 88.9%. Conclusion CMS50F can be used as a portable and reliable device for screening of pa?tients suspected OSAHS.

Objective To detect the efficiency of the newly developed PLGA/IO MPs in tracking tendon stem cells (TSCs) by magnetic resonance (MR) and photoacoustic (PA) imaging . Methods Both PLAG/IO MPs and TSCs were prepared and acquired according to the previous study ,and TSCs were incubated with PLGA/IO MPs for labeling .TSCs were collected for MR and PA imaging ,prussian blue staining was performed ,and the iron concentration of labeled TSCs was determined using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry ( ICP-OES ) at 3 ,7 ,14 ,21 and 28 days after labeling respectively . The rotator cuff injury model was built on the right side of SD rats by surgery and the labeled TSCs were implanted instantly . Dual-modal MR/PA imaging was performed to observe the implanted labeled TSCs at day 3 ,7 ,14 ,21 and 28 after implantation respectively . Results Along with the increase of labeling time ,both MR and PA signal of labeled TSCs decreased gradually ,and the amount of intracellular Fe loading was gradually decreased . At day 28 ,the difference of Fe concentration per cell between labeled TSCs and non-labeled TSCs was not significant (1 .45 pg Fe/cell vs 1 .17 pg Fe/cell , P >0 .05) . MR and PA imaging allowed a long-term tracking of labeled TSCs for 21 and 7 days respectively in the rat rotator cuff injury model . Conclusions PLGA/IO MPs are able to label TSCs for up to 21 days ,and dual-modal MR/PA imaging could be used to track the labeled TSCs in the rat rotator cuff injury model .

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is a common diabetic complication.Presently, our understanding of its pathogenesis is incomplete, and there are no effective treatment options.In-depth research requires the use of animal experiments. The criteria for modeling success and the evaluation method for peripheral nerve function recovery are critical for carrying out animal experiments into type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy. However, but there has been a lack of systematic interrogation and analysis of the evaluation method used with type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy models. Therefore, the author reviewed the recent data, summarized and analyzed the evaluation method used for animal models of type 2 diabetic peripheral neuropathy of small and large nerve fibers, and proposed future directions for development, providing a reference for related research.
7.Prevalence of comorbidity of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and middle school students in Tianjin in 2023
Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(8):1171-1175
Objective:
To analyze the prevalence of comorbidity of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and secondary school students aged 10-18 years in Tianjin in 2023, so as to provide scientific basis for the combined prevention of common diseases and multiple diseases among students and the construction of school health system.
Methods:
In September to October 2023, 31 884 primary and secondary school students aged 10 to 18 years in Tianjin were selected using stratified cluster random sampling. Abnormal spinal curvature in children and adolescents was assessed by Sereening of Spinal Curvature Abnormality of Children and Adolescents, while stunting, wasting, overweight, and obesity were determined according to the Screening for Malnutrition among Schoolage Children and Adolescents and Screening for Overweight and Obesity among Schoolage Children and Adolescents. The χ2 test was used to compare betweengroup differences in coprevalence, and multiple Logistic regression models were used to analyze the risk of different comorbidity types in different clusters.
Results:
The coprevalence of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition among primary and secondary school students in Tianjin was 1.6%, which was higher for girls than boys (1.8%, 1.4%), higher (2.5%) for senior high schools than for junior high schools and elementary schools (2.0%, 0.5%), and higher in rural than in urban areas (2.1%, 1.1%) (χ2=9.45, 141.92, 46.94, P<0.05). Multiple Logistic regression models showed that junior high school girls had a higher risk of incorrect posture comorbid with stunting and wasting (OR=4.52, 95%CI=1.84-11.06) and incorrect posture comorbid with overweight and obesity (OR=2.67, 95%CI=1.74-4.10) than boys, and that scoliosis/sagittal spinal abnormality comorbid with stunting and wasting (OR=0.10, 95%CI=0.02-0.44) risk was lower than that of boys, senior high school girls had a lower risk of scoliosis/sagittal spinal abnormality comorbid with overweight and obesity (OR=0.27, 95%CI=0.11-0.66) (P<0.05).
Conclusions
The coprevalence of spinal curvature abnormality and malnutrition is specific among primary and secondary school students in Tianjin, and the comorbidity type varies by gender and education stage. There is a need to increase prevention and control of spinal curvature abnormalities in school health working, intensive screening of key populations, and timely intervention.
