Objective This study aims to explore antihypertension and heart protective effect of acupuncture on SHR rats through the observation of blood pressure, cardiac ultrasound and pathology examination of SHR rats after needling the Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3). Methods A total of 14 SHR rats (10 weeks) were randomly divided into two groups:6 for model group and 8 for acupuncture group, another 6 SD rats (10 weeks) were used as the control group. SHR rats in the acupuncture group were fixed in the holder, and then they exposed both lower limbs for needling both sides Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3), and then they retained needles for 20 minutes per time with four weeks. The other two groups were fixed in the holder without needling. Blood pressure was examined each week. LVSs, LVDd, LVPWs, LVPWd were measured and recorded by cardiac ultrasound in the day after the whole course of acupuncture. LVM, LVMI, RWT were calculated. The hearts of rats were dissected and fixed in formalin for heart pathology detection after doing the cardiac ultrasound. Results After acupuncture treatment, compared with model group, the systolic blood pressure (SBP) of the third week (178.38 ± 9.47 mmHg vs. 190.00 ± 13.90 mmHg) and the fourth week (167.96 ± 23.47 mmHg vs. 195.47 ± 11.36 mmHg) of acupuncture group significantly decreased (P<0.01). The diastolic pressure (DBP) of the third week (139.33 ± 13.20 mmHg vs. 159.56 ± 12.89 mmHg) and the fourth week (132.92 ± 18.02 mmHg vs. 165.61 ± 13.36 mmHg) of acupuncture group significantly decreased (P<0.01). The LVSs (0.96 ± 0.07 vs. 1.28 ± 0.24), LVPWs (1.15 ± 0.08 vs. 1.68 ± 0.19) of the acupuncture group were significantly lower than those of the model group (P<0.01). The LVM (0.51 ± 0.12 vs. 0.84 ± 0.17) and LVMI (14.96 ± 1.53 vs. 23.65 ± 5.04) of acupuncture group were significantly lower than those of the model group (P<0.01). Histopathologic examination of the heart of the model group showed chronic inflammatory granulation tissue hyperplasia and fibrosis in myocardial outer membrane, but the acupuncture group showed no obvious changes in the heart tissue. Conclusions Acupuncture treatment on Zusanli (ST 36) and Taichong (LR 3) could effectively control the left ventricular hypertrophy by decreasing the SBP and DBP , prevent cardiac remodeling, and protect myocardial cells.

Objective To study the effect of monochromatic light on the distribution of retinal ganglion cells in chicks. Methods Sixty One-day-old male broilers were reared under four light treatments,red(660nm),green(560nm),blue(480nm) and white(400-760nm) by using LED(light-emitting diodes) as light sources until the 49th day(n=15).Light intensity was 15 lux at the height of birds' heads and scheduled for 23hours of light and 1hour of darkness during the entire experiment.The retinas were stained by Nissl-staining and DiI-labeling.The retinal area,cell size and density in ganglion cell layer were estimated by image analysis. Objective To study the morphological types of the retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) projecting to tectum in the chick. Methods The tectal projecting RGCs in the chick were identified by retrograde axonal transport of Fast blue and their dendrites were labeled by intracellular injection of Lucifer Yellow.The retinotectal projecting ganglion cells were classified according to somal areas,dendritic field sizes and dendritic branching pattern. Results Retinotectal projecting ganglion cells were divided into 3 groups and 5 subgroups,Group Ic/Is,Group IIc/IIs,Group IVc.Group I cells had small somal area and small dendritic field.They contained 2 subgroups of Is(simple)and Ic(complex).Group II cells had medium sized soma and dendritic field,and also included 2 subgroups of IIs and IIc.Group IV cells had large soma and dendritic field,and only contained a subgroup IVc.The proportion of each subgroup was 27.7%(Ic),33.6%(Is),2.5%(IIc),24.4%(IIs),and 11.8%(IVc),respectively. Conclusion The types of retinotectal projecting ganglion cell were prominently composed of small to medium sized neurons(88.2%)and some large neurons(11.8%).Ofthese,subgroup Ic cells which were very similar to ? cells were found in the chick and subgroup Is and IIs were not reported in the mammalin retina.The cells in group Ⅲ,which were found in the chick central retina,did not project to the tectum. The lymphonodus cervicothoracious and lumbaris of 19 Pekin ducks were studied using the histological methods. The lymph nodes are consisted of the capsule, loose areas, and dense areas. There are lymphatic tissue cords, connective tissue cords and intercord lymph sinus and lymphatic nodules also in the loose areas. The dense area are consisted of lymphatic nodules and mass of lymphoid cells. The lymphatic nodules are irregularly distributed and no germinal centers. The lymph sinuses may be classified into the central sinus and peripheral sinus. The latter may be subdivided into subcapsule sinus, paralymphonodular sinus and the intercord lymph sinus. There are reticular cells in the intercord lymph sinus. No true trabeculae are present but there are many blood vessels and nerves in the lymph nodules.

Posterior vitreous detachment (PVD), retinal breaks, and lattice degeneration are common problems in ophthalmic clinical practice, which not only cause disturbance to patients' life-quality, but also increase the risk of retinal detachment and vitreoretinal traction.In September 2019, the American Academy of Ophthalmology published Posterior Vitreous Detachment, Retinal Breaks, and Lattice Degeneration Preferred Practice Pattern (PPP). Based on clinical evidence, this PPP provides authoritative guidance for the definition, epidemiological background, diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.This PPP also gives definite solution for treatment and follow-up of different sub-types.This article provides introduction and interpretation of this PPP.

According to the project of WFCMS about carrying out the comparative study on different English versions of textbooks in TCM core courses, this study has done the research for one year. The selected English versions of HUANG DI NEI JING have been compared with the Chinese version sentences by sentences, paragraphs by paragraphs. It is found that the characteristics and diversities of the English versions home and abroad with the common problems of translation have been summarized. Thus, the solution of improvement has been provided and such results could be cited as the references for the translation and external-oriented teaching of HUANG DI NEI JING.

Objective To prove the mechanism of diethylstibestrol(DES) induced abnormal spermatogenesis,this study on the changes of proto-oncogenes bcl-2 and p53 proteins as well as cadherin adherens molecules expression in adult male hamster spermatogenic cells. Methods Adult male golden hamsters were treated daily olive oil vehicle either alone(control)or containing 1 mg/kg body weight of DES (experiment)by subcutaneous injection for 7 days.The changes of testes histological morphology were observed under light and electron microscope.The expressions of bcl-2 and p53 and cadherin in the testes seminiferous epithelium were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results DES induced adult hamster testes abnormal spermatogenesis.As compared to the control group animals,in DES-treated group animals the expression of both bcl-2 and p53 significantly increased in spermatogenic cells,especially in spermatocytes and round spermatids.However,the expression of cadherin adherens molecules obviously decreased.Conclusion It is one of reasons of DES inducing abnormal spermatogenesis that DES can result in increasing in the expression of proto-oncogenes bcl-2 and p53,and reducing cadherin adherens molecules expression.

Objective To assess the role of MR myocardial perfusion imaging (MRMPI) in detecting the viabilitive of myocardium in patient with old myocardial infarction (OMI) Methods MRMPI was performed in 47 patients suffering from old myocardial infarction with 1 5 T MR scanner Male 44, female 3, age ranged from 30 to 87 years with a mean of 61 years All patients were imaged during the first pass and delayed phase 5-30 min after injection of Gd DTPA 0 1 mmol/kg at 5 ml/s using IR turbo FLASH sequence Short axis images were acquired during the first pass, and both short axis and long axis images during delayed phase The left ventricular wall on short axis slice was divided into 8 segments A correlative study was carried out in 17 patients with the results of rest and stress 99m Tc SPECT scanning Results In 47 patients of old myocardial infarction, 29(61 7%) showed hypoenhancement during the first pass imaging (the SI was 50 20?7 45 percent of normal segment)and 46(97 9%) revealed delayed hyperenhancement(the SI was 491 0?197 26 percent of normal segment). For delayed hyperenhancement, 10(21 3%) was transmural ,15(31 9%) was nontransmural, and 21(44 7%) mixed, another one was normal 37 segments in 17 patients revealed to be nonviable by rest and stress 99m Tc SPECT, and the MRMPI all showed delayed hyperenhancement 116 viable segments on rest and stress 99m Tc SPECT, and no delayed hyperenhancement in 97 segments (83 6%) on MRMPI With the rest and stress 99m Tc SPECT as a standard of reference the sensitivity and the specificity of MRMPI were 100.0% and 83 6% respectively Conclusion The myocardial viability and nonviability as well as their severity and extent may be effectively evaluated with MRMPI in patients with OMI

Only by dressing the prosthesis can they play their compensatory functions for the amputees.The effectiveness of the compensatory is closely related to the condition of the stumps.Because of the complications,it is impossible to dress prosthesis to some stumps.This paper is a studying discussion on the rehabilitation of the non ideal stumps impairing prosthesis dressing,which of the 81 cases among the 164 amputees hospitalized in China Rehabilitation Research Center during the last 8 years.The paper advances the conception of the non ideal stumps impairing prosthesis dressing;the categories of non ideal stumps and their impairment to the prosthesis dressing and the principle and methods of the rehabilitation and the improvement of the making of the prosthesis and the method of the operations. To improve the conditions of the non ideal stumps,a good and comfortable prosthesis will be dressed.The compensatory functions will be satisfactorily played.
