Background and purpose:Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor of the digestive system in our country, with high fatality, development of HCC and the machine system research and treatment is a primary issue in current study of HCC. To explore the expression ofβ-catenin at different stages in the process of hepatocellular carcinoma carcinogenisis for SD rats induced by chemicals. Methods: The experimental group included 48 male SD rats mice with primary liver cancer induced by diethylnirtosamine/carbon tetrachloride/Ethanol, while 48 normal male SD rats mice were used as the control group. The rats were killed every 3 weeks to collect the specimens and observe the pathological changes by HE staining. The changes ofβ-catenin protein expressions were detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot respectively. Results:SD rats liver cancer was conifrmed by HE staining after 21 weeks DEN/CCl4/Ethanol induction. Immunohistochemistry showed thatβ-catenin expression level was obviously higher in the experimental group(0.27±0.01) than that of the control group(0.21±0.02) after 3 weeks induction(P<0.05). As time progresses, the expression levels ofβ-catenin kept on rising, and at the 18th(0.30±0.02) and 21th weeks(0.32±0.02), it was significantly higher than that of the earlier liver tissues of the experimental group(P<0.05), Western blot consistent with immunohistochemical results. Conclusion:β-catenin protein expression is different in the normal liver tissue, cirrhosis, liver cancer,β-catenin and the occurrence of liver carcinoma development had close relationship.β-catenin protein in the cell with further accumulation, may active a series of target gene, leading to the formation of liver cancer..

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of moxibustion plus medicinal tea in treating gouty arthritis during the interictal period.MethodA treatment group of 64 patients received moxibustion plus medicinal tea and the control groupof 64 patients, alimentary control.ResultThe total efficacy rate was 95.3% in the treatment group and 75.0% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.01).ConclusionMoxibustion plus medicinal tea has a better therapeutic effect on gouty arthritis during the interictal period.

Objective]To discuss the effect of sciatic nerve injury on the expressions of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-10(IL-10)in anterior cingulate cortex(ACC),and further to explain their roles resided in the development of neuropathic pain.[Method]With use of the methods of behavioral test,western blot and immunohistochemistry, we examine the effects of spared sciatic nerve injury(SNI)on the expressions of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-10 in ACC,and observe the effect of the neutralizing antibody of TNF-α,IL-1β on the rat mechanical allodynia.[Result]In present experiment ,SNI increased the protein levels of TNF-α,IL-10,but not IL-1β in ACC. Increased TNF-α-IR and IL-10-IR in ACC is located in neurons ,but not astrocytes and microglia at 7 d following L5-VRT. Pre-treatment with anti-TNFα antibody but not anti-IL-1βantibody into ACC significantly increased the rat paw withdrawal threshold to von Frey hairs.[Conclusion]These data suggested that the increased TNF-αin ACC neurons might be responsible for the development of neuropathic pain.

Objective To analyze the clinical and dosimetric risk factors for acute radiation esophagitis (ARE) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT),and to find significant risk factors for clinical therapy.Methods A total of 102 NSCLC patients treated with 3D-CRT were retrospectively analyzed.ARE was scored according to the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) criteria with grade 2 or worse.Patients were divided into non-concurrent chemoradiotherapy group and concurrent chemoradiotherapy group.The clinical and dosimetric factors associated with grade 2 or worse ARE were analyzed using univariate logistic regression,multivariate logistic analysis and receiver operating characteristic ( ROC ) curve.Results There were no grade 4 or5 ARE observed in the 102 patients.Nineteen developed grade 2,15 developed grade 3.In nonconcurrent chemoradiotherapy group,multivariate analysis showed that V55 was the only risk factor of grade 2/3 ARE.For ROC curve analysis,the cut-off point of V55 was 16.0 while the area under ROC curve was 0.870 ( 95 ％ CI:0.782 - 0.957,P ＜ 0.05 ).In concurrent chemoradiotherapy group,multivariate analysis showed that V35 and chemotherapy regimens during radiotherapy were risk factors of grade 2/3 ARE.The cut-off point of V35 was 23.75 while the area under ROC curve was 0.782 (95％ CI:0.636 -0.927,P ＜0.05).Vinorelbine and cisplatin regimen showed low incidence of ARE contrast with gemcitabine/docetaxel and cisplatin regimens (33.3％ and 66.7％ ).Conclusions V55 is the only statistically significant risk factor associated with grade 2 or worse ARE for patients who don't accepted concurrent chemotherapy.V35 and chemotherapy regimens during radiotherapy are statistically significant risk factors associated with grade 2 or worse ARE for patients who accept concurrent chemotherapy.Vinorelbine and cisplatin regimen during radiotherapy shows low incidence of ARE.

Objective To analyze the clinical and dosimetric risk factors for computed tomography (CT) grade of radiation-induced lung injury in lung cancer treated with three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT).Methods Eighty-nine lung cancer patients treated with 3DCRT were enrolled and CT scan images in more than 6 months were retrospectively analyzed.Clinical and dosimetric parameters were reviewed.Radiation-induced lung injuries were classified into 5 grades on CT images.Grade 3 or worse were considered clinically significant.Statistical software SPSS IS.0 was used to analyze the clinical and dosimetric risk factors that influenced the CT grade of radiation-induced lung injury.Results Eight of 89 patients (9.0%) developed grade 0 of radiation-induced lung injury,13 developed grade 1 (14.6%) ,24 developed grade 2 (27.0%) ,23 developed grade 3 (25.8%) and 21 developed grade 4 (23.6%).Univariable analysis showed that concurrent chemotherapy (CCT),GTV margin,involved ipsilateral lung mean lung dose(IMLD) ,the percent of involved ipsilateral lung receiving over IS,20,25 ,30,35 ,40 and 45 Gy (V_(15),V_(20) ,V_(25),V_(30) ,V_(35),V_(40) ,V_(45) were significantly associated with over grade 3 of radiation-induced lung injury .On multivariate logistic regression analysis,CCT,GTV margin and V_(20) of ipsilateral lung emerged as statistically significant risk factors of over grade 3 radiation-induced lung injuries CT images.Conclusions CCT,GTV margin and V_(20) of ipsilateral lung might be clinical and dosimetric risk factors associated with the severe CT grade of radiation-induced lung injury for lung cancer treated with 3DCRT.

Objective To observe the epidemiology characterization of Borna disease virus (BDV) in animal brain in Ili, Xinjiang, and to find out the potential infection of the Borna disease virus to prevent its outbreak. Methods The BDV p24 gene of animal brain tissues in Ili including 200 horses, 75 donkeys and 100 shepherd dogs was detected by fluorescence quantitative nest reverse transcriptase polymer-ase chain reaction(FQ-nRT-PCR). GFP-p24,pMD-19 plasmid contamination was excluded from positive products. Clone sequencing was used to analyze the homology of gene and amino acid sequence. Results BDV p24 gent was found in 3 Ili horses, 4 Ili donkeys and 9 shepherd dogs, and the positive ratio is 1.5%, 5.3% and 9.0%, respectively. The GFP-p24,pMD-19 were not found in BDV p40 gene and plasmid stand-ard. The sequence of BDV p24 amplification production was totally the same as He/80 virus strain. Conclu-sion Natural infection of BDV may exist in the animals(horses, donkeys and dogs)in Ili, and the epidem-ic strain of BDV in this area was homological as He/80 virus strain.

Background/Aims: Data on the natural course of Chinese patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) was lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the natural history and prognosis of patients with UC in the past 15 years in China. Methods: This cohort study included patients with UC in a tertiary hospital in southern China from 2007 to 2021 (cohort I: 2007–2011, cohort II: 2012–2016, cohort III: 2017–2021). Patients’ clinical characteristics and natural history were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Of 1,139 included patients, 683 patients presented with proctitis or left-sided colitis at diagnosis and 38.5% of them (263/683) developed proximal disease extension. Fifty-eight percent of patients experienced relapse, chronic continuous and intermittent active course. Five patients (0.4%) developed colorectal tumors/dysplasia. The overall surgery rate was 8.6%, and the rates were 14.2%, 7.8%, and 8.0% in the 3 cohorts, respectively (P= 0.059). Average time from diagnosis to surgery decreased from cohorts I to III (144 months vs. 36 months, P< 0.001), so did the use of glucocorticoids (58.2% vs. 43.5%, P< 0.001) and immunosuppressants (14.1% vs. 13.4%, P= 0.016), and days of hospitalization (13 days vs. 9 days, P< 0.001). Biologics were used more frequently during the first year (0.8%, 2.1%, and 13.7% for cohorts I to III, respectively; P< 0.001). The rate of mucosal healing increased over time. Conclusions In Chinese UC patients, one-third of patients experienced proximal disease extension. The rates of malignancy and mortality were low. More biologics were used, while use of immunosuppressants and glucocorticoids were reduced over time. Early biologics use seemed to promote mucosal healing, but the rate of colectomy has not dramatically decreased.

Objective:To explore the effect of "ten needles in the stomach" on sleep perception of patients with spleen-gastric damp-heat insomnia based on the theory of "stomach discord, then sleep restlessness", to provide references for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods:The study subjects were 300 patients with insomnia from the sleep department and outpatient department of Shijiazhuang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. According to the random number method, they were divided into the stomach ten needle group, the diazepam group, and the stomach ten needle plus diazepam group, with 100 in each group. Among them, the stomach ten needles group received "stomach ten needles" acupuncture treatment, the diazepam group was given diazepam therapy, and the stomach ten needles plus diazepam group was given diazepam combined with "stomach ten needles" acupuncture treatment. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores, the self-rating disease symptom scale (SCL-90) scores, nighttime polysomnography (PSG) monitoring indicators, and the mean sleep latency (MSL) values were compared before and after treatment in the three groups. The difference in clinical efficacy between the two groups were observed.Results:The total effective rate was 94.0% (94/100) in the combined group, 77.0% (77/100) in the diazepam group, and 85.0% (85/100) in the stomach ten needle group. There were significant differences among the three groups ( χ2=11.56, P<0.01). After treatment, the daytime dysfunction, hypnotic drugs, sleep disturbance, sleep efficiency, sleep time, sleep time, sleep quality score and total score of the combined group were significantly lower than those in the diazepam group and the stomach ten needle group ( F=5.70, 3.65, 5.23, 6.37, 3.66, 6.19, 7.54, 6.40, all Ps<0.01); The scores of SCL-90 and MSL were significantly lower than those in the diazepam group and stomach ten needle group ( F=8.97, 7.53, all Ps<0.01). In the combined group, NWAK [(1.36 ± 0.87) times vs. (2.69 ± 1.15) times, (2.11 ± 1.05) times, F=5.88], SOL [(13.62 ± 5.85) min vs. (25.06 ± 9.42) min, (19.78 ± 7.63) min, F=6.49], N1/TST [(5.69 ± 1.09)% vs. (12.65 ± 2.58)%, (8.49 ± 2.45)%, F=5.13], N2/TST [(51.07 ± 10 2.06)% vs. (58.36 ± 2.18)%, (55.61 ± 2.04)%, F=9.86] were significantly lower than those in the diazepam group and stomach ten needle group ( P<0.01), SE [(90.33 ± 2.89)% vs. (85.39 ± 2.75)%, (87.53 ± 2.69)%, F=8.36], TST [(449.32 ± 23.65) min vs. (421.66 ± 25.33) min, (431.26 ± 25.98) min, F=8.26], REM/TST [(23.87 ± 4.52)% vs. (14.52 ± 3.87)%, (18.36 ± 3.25)%, F=5.34], N3/TST [(18.69 ± 2.02)% vs. (10.31 ± 1.64)%, (14.89 ± 1.74)%, F=7.69] were significantly higher than those in the diazepam group and stomach ten needle group ( P<0.01). Conclusion:Based on the "stomach discord, sleep restlessness" theory, the ten needles on the stomach can treat insomnia and improve psychological state and sleep quality, with the functions of clearing the damp and heat of the middle joker, regulating the lifting and lowering of qi in the middle.

Purpose: We aimed to explore whether the prognosis of patients treated with capecitabine and oxaliplatin (XELOX) or S-1 and oxaliplatin (SOX) regimens who received fewer cycles of chemotherapy after D2 radical resection for gastric cancer (GC) would be non-inferior to that of patients who received the standard number of cycles of chemotherapy. Materials and Methods: Data on patients who received XELOX or SOX chemotherapy after undergoing D2 radical resection at Harbin Medical University Cancer Hospital between January 2011 and May 2016 were collected. Results: In patients who received 4, 6, and 8 cycles of chemotherapy, the 5-year overall survival (OS) rates were 59.4%, 64.8%, and 62.7%, respectively. Compared to patients who received 4 cycles of chemotherapy, those who received 6 cycles (hazard ratio [HR], 0.882; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.599–1.299; P=0.52) or 8 cycles (HR, 0.882; 95% CI, 0.533–1.458; P=0.62) of chemotherapy did not exhibit significantly prolonged OS. The 3-year disease-free survival (DFS) rate of patients who received 4, 6, and 8 cycles of chemotherapy was 62.1%, 67.2%, and 60.8%, respectively. Compared to patients who received 4 cycles of chemotherapy, those who received 6 cycles (HR, 0.835; 95% CI, 0.572–1.221; P=0.35) or 8 cycles (HR, 0.972; 95% CI, 0.606–1.558; P=0.91) of chemotherapy did not show significantly prolonged DFS. However, the 3-year DFS and 5-year OS rates of patients who received 6 cycles of chemotherapy appeared to be superior to those of patients who received 4 and 8 cycles of chemotherapy. Conclusions For patients with stage III GC, 4 to 6 cycles of XELOX or SOX chemotherapy may be a favorable option. This study provides a rationale for further randomized clinical trials.

Objective:To study on the effect of "stomach ten acupuncture" combined with domperidone tablets on clinical symptoms and sleep quality of gastrointestinal neurosis patients with insomnia based on the theory of "stomach harmonious leading to restless".Methods:Randomized controlled trial. From March 2020 to March 2021, 98 patients with gastrointestinal neurosis and insomnia in our hospital who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups, with 49 patients in each group. The control group took domperidone tablets orally, and the observation group was treated with "stomach ten acupuncture" on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 8 weeks. Before and after treatment, TCM syndromes were scored, the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms was assessed with Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS), anxiety and depression were assessed with Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), and sleep quality was assessed with Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index Scale (PSQI).Results:After treatment, the scores and total scores of epigastric pain, belching, abdominal distension, anorexia, noisy acid regurgitation, tiredness and asthenia, constipation and loose stools in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t values were 19.61, 19.30, 23.10, 22.05, 20.43, 21.81, 20.51, 16.38, respectively, P<0.01); the scores and total scores of typical symptoms, abdominal pain symptoms, reflux symptoms, diarrhea symptoms, constipation symptoms were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t values were 10.10, 11.14, 11.04, 9.31, 11.24, 5.30, respectively, P<0.01); HAMA and HAMD scores were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t values were 6.96 and 6.85, respectively, P<0.01). The scores of time to fall asleep (1.15 ± 0.56 vs. 2.11 ± 0.75, t=7.18), time to sleep (0.92 ± 0.63 vs. 1.52 ± 1.12, t=3.27), sleep quality (1.02 ± 0.66 vs. 1.96 ± 0.80, t=6.35), sleep efficiency (0.86 ± 0.62 vs. 1.68 ± 0.85, t=5.46), sleep disorders (0.92 ± 0.36 vs. 1.48 ± 0.55, t=5.96), daytime dysfunction (0.96 ± 0.42 vs. 1.97 ± 0.87, t=7.32), hypnotics (0.98 ± 0.45 vs. 1.81 ± 0.62, t=7.58) and total scores (6.85 ± 1.47 vs. 12.73 ± 2.95, t=12.49) were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01). Conclusion:The "stomach ten acupuncture" combined with domperidone tablets can improve the clinical symptoms and sleep quality of gastrointestinal neurosis patients with insomnia.
