AIM:To study the efficacy and safety of Toric implantable contact lens (TICL) implantation in the treatment of patients with high myopia and astigmatism.METHODS: Totally 90 patients (178 eyes) diagnosed as this disease were selected in our hospital during September 2012 to September 2016 by the method of random.The UCVA, BCVA, refraction, astigmatism coefficient, corneal endothelial cell, intraocular pressure, manifest refraction examination were accessed and compared before and after 3 and 9mo of surgery.RESULTS: After 3 and 9mo of the surgery, the UCVA and BCVA were much higher than those before treatment, which the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).We compared the refraction at 3mo (-0.52±0.23D) and 9mo (-0.54±0.16D), the astigmatism coefficient at 3mo (-0.39±0.23D) and 9mo (-0.33±0.56D) after treatment, and we found that the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05).The corneal endothelial cells at 3 and 9mo after operation were compared with those of before treatment, and we found that the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The intraocular pressure of 3 and 9mo after operation was compared with that before operation, and we found that the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05).CONCLUSION: TICL implantation in the treatment of patients with high myopia and myopic astigmatism has a more obvious clinical efficacy and safety and reliability.

Objective To study the location and level of relaxin receptor in placenta tissues of preeclampsia and normal pregnancy,and the relationship of relaxin receptor with pre-eclampsia.Methods Twenty-six placenta tissue samples from pregnant women with severe preeclampsia(study group),and 20samples from normal pregnancies(control group)were obtained.We detected the expression of relaxin receptor by immunohistochemistry and the expression of relaxin receptor mRNA by RT-PCR.Results In the placenta of control and preeclampsia groups,the leucine-rich repeat-containing G protein-coupled receptor(LGR7)was positively expressed.Relaxin receptor was located in the membrane of trophoblast cells.There were both strong signals on cytotrophoblastic cells and syneytiotrophoblast.The level of relaxin receptor in the control group was 0.912 ±0.003.and 0.625±0.037 in the preeclampsia group.Thedifference between the two groups was obvious(P＜0.01).In the control group,the level of relaxin receptor mRNA was 0.776±0.021;in the preeclampsia group,it was 0.393±0.075.The difference was obvious(P＜0.01).Conclusion Decrease in the expression of relaxin receptor at placenta is related with the occurrence and development of preeclampsia.

Objective To explore the best serum-free cultural way in neural stem cells from the hippocampus of the newborn rats and observe the characteristics of growth,proliferation,and induced differentiation of neural stem cells.Methods The neonatal rats′ hippocampus tissues were dissociated mechanically.The cells were cultured in the serum-free cultural medium which were added separately basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF),epithelium growth factor(EGF),bFGF+EGF by suspended cultural way.The neural stem cells were identified by nestin immunofluorescence.After induced differentiation of embryonic cow serum,the differentiated cells were identified.Results The serum-free medium added bFGF and EGF could perfectly induce neural stem cells to proliferate and the differentiated cells expressed the specific antigen of neurons,astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.Conclusion The serum-free medium with bFGF and EGF can be used to culture neural stem cells from hippocampus tissue of rats in vitro.

Objective To study the effect of blood glucose variation on gastric emptying and ghrelin expression in diabetic rats,and to explore the relationship between the delayed gastric emptying and the ghrelin expression in different diabetic stages.Methods Sixty Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups:a normal control group(NC group),a diabetes mellitus group (DM group) induced by intra- peritoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ),and an insulin-treated group (INS group).After one and four weeks the gastric emptying was measured by intragastric administration of phenol red and the expression of gastric ghrelin was determined by immunohistochemistry and semi-quantitative RT PCR.Results After one week of STZ injection,the gastric emptying,the ghrelin integral optical density and the ghrelin mRNA expression decreased significantly in DM group compared to those in NC group and INS group(P0.05).Conclusion Short term hyperglycemia delay gastric emptying through the reduction of gastric ghrelin expression,while long-term hyperglycemia may enhance the expression and release of gastric ghrelin to stimulate food intake and maintain energy balance.

Objective To compare the effects of vitrification with slow-freezing on the developmental ability of day 3 cleavage stage embryos.Methods Patients who had no less than 4 high quality embryos were included in this study.These embryos were cryopreserved using the methods of vitrification or slow-freezing.In the eryopreserved embryo transfer cycles,the embryos which were cryopreserved using one of the methods were chosen randomly.The developmental ability of embryos was compared between these two groups.Results A total of 80 patients were included in this study with 160 embryos.In the group of slow-freezing,73(91%)embryos were survived and achieved 15(38%)clinical pregnancies.Among these,3 were twins and the implantation rate was 25%(18/73).In the group of vitrification,71(89%)embryos were survived and achieved 19(48%)clinical pregnancies.Among these, 9 were twins and the implantation rate was 39%(28/71),which was significantly higher than the slow- freezing group(P

Objective To study the relationship between the MRI features and pathological types of intracranial meningiomas. Methods MRI findings of intracranial meningiomas in 63 cases proved by operation and pathology were analyzed retrospectively.Results Of 63 cases,62 cases were singular and one case was multiple lesions. The lesions were located in frontal,parietal and occipital regions nearby the convexity of the brain in 30 cases,in sellar region in 10,at sphenoidal crest in 8 , at olfactory sulcus in 5 and at other regions in 10. Isointense or slightly hypointense signal on T 1WI was found in 87.27% cases of meningiomas . On T 2WI, tumors had isointense or slightly hyperintense signal in 69.84%, obviously hyperintense signal in 19.05%,heterogenous texture signal in 7.94% and slightly low intense signal in 3.17%. Pathological type was included meningiomas meningothelial(n=29), meningiomas fibrous(n=11) , meningiomas psammomatous(n=8),angioblastic meningiomas (n=5) and meningiomas angiomatous(n=10). Conclusion It is great value in diagnosis of meningiomas with MRI. Meningiomas angiomatous show effecting of blood-vessel flowed empty with MR imaging.

Objective To analyze the heterogeneous variation of serum free fatty acid (FFA) and lipids during early second trimester in women with or without uterine artery notch in pre-eclampsia (PE).Methods This is a prospective cohort study of 4 000 women with singleton pregnancies registered in early pregnancy and in whom regular check-ups were performed in Haidian Maternal & Child Health Hospital.Blood specimens were collected at gestational age 14-18 weeks at the same time of screening for Down's syndrome.One hundred and one cases with early diastolic notch of the uterine artery were included in the N+ group,and 172 cases without notch but at high risk of PE were included in the N-group at 22-24 weeks.In addition,205 women who were selected randomly at a ratio of 1 ∶ 5,without notch or PE high-risk factors,were also included in the N group.Both groups were subgrouped according to the outcomes of pregnancy complications:early-onset PE group EPE,late-onset PE (LPE),gestational hypertension (GH) group,gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) group with normal blood pressure,and no complications (NC) group.The variation in FFA and other lipid metabolism indicators in the PE subgroups were compared and analyzed by two independent-sample t-test,one-factor analysis of variance,Chi-square test (or Fisher's exact) and Logistic regression.Results History of PE and pre-hypertension at first visit differed significantly between the N+ and N-groups [3.9％ (4/101) vs.0.8％ (3/377),x2=5.52,P＜0.05; pre-hypertension at first visit,42.2％ (43/101) vs.25.7％ (97/377),x2=10.91,P＜0.05].In the N+ group,23.8％ (n=24) of women had PE,of which 37.5％ (n=8) were early onset.In the N group,2.1％ (n=8) had PE,and all were late onset.The incidence of PE differed significantly between the N+ and N-groups (x2=59.72,P＜0.05).In the N+ group,FFA gradually decreased among the ePE,IPE,GH and NC groups [(0.68±0.27),(0.58±0.21),(0.57±0.21) and (0.49±0.19) mmol/L,F=2.78,P＜0.05]; Multivariate regression analysis showed that FFA (OR=135.68,95％CI:3.78-4 873.00) and PE history (OR=123.25,95％CI:9.27-i 638.00) were risk factors of ePE.Pre-hypertension at registration (OR=4.69,95％CI:2.08-10.58) and pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) 24-28 (OR=3.69,95％CI:1.26-10.83) were risk factors ofGH.FFA (OR=9.08,95％CI:2.49-33.01) and pre-pregnancy BMI ≥ 28 (OR=5.08,95％CI:2.16-11.92) were risk factors for GDM.Conclusions Serum FFA and TG levels in early second trimester are correlated with PE,especially the early-onset PE.The onset of PE is heterogeneous and affected by many factors,and occurs in patients with or without early diastolic notch of the uterine artery in the second trimester.Patients with notch are more likely to have early-onset PE,which is correlated with blood FFA and TG levels.
